I have a savior complex for plants. I cannot stand to see a poor, wilted, water starved plant sitting alone on the shelf because no one else wants it. Because of this, I have now amassed quite a large collection of "tropical foliage" and and weird, not quite succulents, not quite flowering plants that are taking over a whole corner of my bedroom. I have grow lights (it really looks like I'm growing pot if you look through the window 🤣) but it's so nice to be able to take them outside for a little sun and fresh air now that the weather is warming up! I have been crushed since I did @city_shred last Sunday!  It felt amazing to get back to some weight room work.  Focused on the #barbell #snatch today.  I haven't done this for about 10 years.  A classic and very strong lift to have.  Incorporate overhead lifts into your routine if you really want that core to POP out.  Any overhead lift with a #squat or #lunge will help you get this!  Do this instead of crunches... Seek help from great coaches. I just started playing with this little addition to my home gym. It’s simply a much more portable and user friendly landmine made by @strongerthanu_inc 💪🏼 It’s called The Gut Wrench. . I tried posting a few exercises demonstrating some of the cool things you can do with the Gut Wrench, but my IG kept crashing, so I just posted one quick lunge to press demo. . Quem acompanhou os stories de hoje sabe que o treino de glúteo 🍑 não foi o mais pesado, mas foi consciente e deu para suar 💦 Não tem de ser sempre a matar. Às vezes, mais vale fazer um treino com menos carga do que o habitual mas que seja inteligente 🧠 se fosse com o pensamento de “ter de dar tudo”, o mais provável seria levantar a carga apenas por levantar. Devemos saber ouvir o nosso corpo e trabalhar em conjunto com ele. Afinal, é a nossa casa 🏠 Deixo-vos aqui uma espécie de exercício combinado de lunges! Kicking off a couple weeks of fitness fun before I get back into track & field training 💪🏽🙌🏽. First stop - The @strive_life Athletic House. .  Track is a year-round sport but I'm multi-sport athlete and all-round fitness lover at heart. I'd sprint, powerlift, play volleyball, try football, do hot yoga and learn to swim all at once if I could🎽🏋🏽🏐🏈🏊🏽. Of course, that's neither realistic nor conducive to reaching my track & field goals. Although I'm wholly committed to track, the fact is I'm not a pro so I can afford at least a little time between the indoor and outdoor seasons to indulge in other sources of training that complement by goals, keep me motivated, satisfy my need for change and make me smile. You may have moved on to sexier, more exciting exercises, but don’t forget the basics - squats, lunges, hinges, press, and pulls. . You need to revisit these throughout your training, ensuring that your movements are clean whenever they’re not loaded, so that when you add weight, you perform as you should. . Here I am showing you the basics of good lunge form. Even (and especially) if you feel you are way past this, I encourage you to take a moment to watch this and double check your form without weight added so that you can be sure your foundation is strong. . Movement training approach improving athletic abilities with aspiring youth athletes!  Sessions focus: 1. Develop body awareness for linear movement skills with medicine ball and wall drills. 2. Learn to squat and hinge using KB performing GOBLET SQUAT & RDL 3. Develop pillar strength moving relatively controlled and faster.  Coaching points: 1. Allow athlete to build autonomy i.e. make mistakes and self correct 2. Provide feedback and cues 30% at the time and use primarily analogies and external cues. 3. Use video feedback so athlete sees himself moving!! 4. Tell athlete WHAT TO DO!! So often coaches and teachers over-coach by giving feedback too frequently after every single repetition which is confusing and takes time to process. It’s easy to over flood someone with information. Pistol position work. (I'm actually not a fan of pistol squats but since everyone's doing them...) - A lot of people can probably get into positions via speed, momentum, compensation, etc but its doesnt really "work" until control becomes involved.  So after to have the range to do something, control is the beginning of strengthening that position.  Actually, controlling positions is absolutely looked at as strength (isometric). Here's a variation of something I throw in for pistols so I dont necessarily lose what I have.  This is a variation that works for me and probably not for most people but the theory of gaining more control in your toughest spots will always help what you're trying to do in the end game. - Remember, I'm doing this from a place where mobility isn't my issue but trying to maintain control in the hardest position for me is what I'm trying to accomplish here.

A brief sped-up glimpse into my workout yesterday! Most of this is playing around with some inversions, working on splits, and keeping myself above the ground the whole time in transitions (or coming down slow and controlled.) The last one is a lunge/ split focused exercise based on the hammock! ARE YOU MAKING THIS SPLIT SQUAT MISTAKE?? -@health_sutra_  What’s up Achievers, @jasonlpak here talking split squats! When performing split squats or stationary lunges, this subtle mistake may actually have uncomfortable consequences! - On the way up from the bottom of the split squat, you want to make sure you don’t overly-aggressively lock out the back leg. This can cause your lower back to go into more extension than we’d like, and potentially place a little more stress there. - Instead, allow your back leg to remain slightly bent or relaxed, and focus on extending the front leg fully. This will put you in a more optimal top position and will allow you to more easily maintain a neutral spine! - We hope this tip helps! Я дотягиваюсь противоположной рукой до пола, активация широчайшей и противоположной Ягодицы( одна фасциальная линия). Формат такой, что я гуляю по часам рукой, как бы дотягиваясь до чисел 10-12-14. Каждый раз сгибая и разгибая в конечной точке тазобедренный сустав опорной ноги. ⠀ ➕Перешагивания в выпад. Из положения цапля я перешагиваю через мнимый барьер также по часам:10-12-14. Возврат из выпада в исходное положение не через разгибание спины, в частности поясничного отдела, а за счёт отталкивания впередистоящей ноги. ⠀ ✔️Вместо коврика может быть балансировочная подушка, босу, или же просто пол. ⠀ Хороший комплекс для нервно-мышечной связи💜

Common mistake with the #lunge is that the upper body moves forward. Keep the hips on top of the shoulders! How is your lunge technique? If you can't keep your upper body vertical in the lunge, it might be that your hip flexors or upper leg muscles are too tight. With some inspiration from @portal.ido, George starting doing this one day while waiting to shoot one of his exercise tutorials 😄 It’s a great way to warm up your legs and core, while increasing your awareness before your workout. All you need is a long dowel rod.  The steps are as follows: 1️⃣ Hold the dowel vertically. 2️⃣ Let go and quickly turn 360 degrees. 3️⃣ Gently catch the dowel rod while performing a lunge. Try not to force the catch; instead, let it land in your palm and gently bring it down to the floor.
