💫 We have all seen the numbers floating around the #igyogacommunity I love reading about everyone’s journeys! Tagged by the beautiful @rachelgla to share mine! 33 years young 😏when I started my yoga journey....As a working mom and housewife the grind can get to us...finding positive ways to fill our time helps our overall being. What we put in we put out and this light that yoga has ignited inside of me can never be dimmed. 3 years strong! 💫
Feeling thankful today and everyday for you ❤️ For our house, our cute pup, the vacations we get to take and just life with you in general. Wishing we could be back in Jamaica chilling at this bar in the middle of the ocean 😊
Coffee (or Tea...) & chat! . It's been ages since I introduced myself here. . Here goes. . My name is Andrea. I'm the middle of 5 kids (YUP - 5! What were my parents thinking???). . When I was younger, I was convinced I wanted to be a lawyer or paralegal (paralegal because they didn't have to talk in court 😬). I graduated Law & Security Administration with a focus in Customs & Immigration (turns out that being a paralegal wasn't as fun as I thought it would be). . Eventually my diploma in Customs & Immigration lead me to working for an elite travel agency in Ottawa. . While I was working there, a couple of my co-workers found out about Parliament Hill Yoga & thought it might help me chill out a bit (I was a tad intense in those days + super stressed all the time). . Enter my first yoga class. I was HOOKED! . I went every week that summer (if you haven't tried yoga outside in the summer - do it! It's amazing). I even started going to classes on Sunday mornings (thank you Lululemon for making my first three years of practice possible!). . This of course eventually led me to becoming a yoga teacher (my co-workers never imagined this happening 😄). . When I did my Yin yoga teacher training, that was when I was introduced to Chinese medicine. . Holy GAME CHANGER! . This is when my healing really started to skyrocket. I was able to heal myself from chronic fatigue syndrome & the chronic stress I was living with. . In 2015, I left my job at the travel agency to return to school. . In the next couple months, I will be registered & I will be able to start offering TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) acupuncture! . I cannot be happier that my life has gone in this direction. . It means the world to me that I will be able to help others like myself who are fed up with feeling sick & tired all the time feel better! . Now that you know my story; what about you?? I’d love to get to know you better! Drop me a line in the comments below. . Photo Credit: Quang Anh Ha
Self Care: What I use for at-home facials. 💆♀️ - First of all, I get all my makeup off with a makeup remover wipe. - Then cleanse with my Milk cleanser, just in case there are still traces of makeup behind but also to get those pores free of debris. - Next is a sugar scrub, that I make myself. Now just because it's a scrub doesn't mean you have to be rough with your skin. I gently move the product around in small circular motions with my finger tips. - Then I like to follow up with a mask, which I'll either use an enzyme mask, or an avocado oatmeal clay mask. It's important to choose for your specific skin care needs. - I cleanse again, yes again, it'll ensure you get all the mask off, then follow with toner to help restore ph balance. - Last, I use a retinol serum. Then finish off with my moisturizer. Retinol works best for me and my skin care needs, but there are many serums available that serve different purposes. Again, it's about finding out what would work best for the individual and their skin type/needs. *My daily skincare routine is cleanser, toner, moisturizer, twice per day and retinol used only at night. Exfoliant and mask are 2x per week, at night. At-home facials are best for evening before bed because they will aid with healthy cell turnover while you're sleeping.
I gotta see a man about a dog. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or in my case, about two dogs... But seriously, more than laughs, companionship and endless love, did you know that dogs have a HUGE impact on your health? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's right! Dog owners often spend less time at the doctor's office, have a lower risk for heart disease, and tend to be more sociable. And if those aren't enough reasons, then you should know that playing with that pooch can lower your cortisol levels, which control stress! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These two are my first babies and constant companions, oh, and my early morning workout buddies! Meet Chloe Elaine and Sophie Diane. Yup, I believe a lady should be two things, fun and classy! I love pet names, so let's hear the names of your furbabies below!
Got to spend some good quality time with my 3 boys yesterday!! It's so fun to watch the different personalities!! One example is kisses.... Brando, if you ask for a kiss... 💋 He'll just come up and without licking will boop his snout and give a kiss!!! Trooper on the other hand... Will lick my face off!!😂 And then there is Samson... I treasure a kiss... Because he does not give them freely..... Everyone's differences are wonderful... It makes the world much more colorful!!! Happy Thursday all... From our colorful pack at Saltypaws!! It's all about the Dog!! 🐕
Sometimes you just need to do what’s best for you 💜 I’m taking on a new adventure and over the next few weeks will not be able to process orders or reply to messages while I travel and get settled. I hope all you lovelies understand. Please note that all orders placed from now will be delayed until I can get them sorted. Thank you all for the support and amazing journey we’ve had so far! It means so much! I can’t wait to share some new designs with you all! Exciting times ahead! 🤩 #mackandcodesigns#newadventures#lookingforward#positivevibes#lovethislife
Wanna know how great a salesman I am? Check out how far out of my league this girl is. 21 years later this deal is still for life. Thanks for sticking around for 21 years of “I do’s” Wonder Woman. Still figuring it out as we go, but love creating this adventure. #wealthforlife#lovethislife
Do you have too many days in the month for the amount of money you earn? More month than money? I used to too but I didn’t know how to change our situation. I worked full time already Have no childcare Andy never gets home at the same time so I couldn’t get an evening job Until I saw my friend on social media. Her and her husband were doing these at home workouts and telling me that they were helping people to lose weight and build their fitness... and they were earning an income doing it. They took their children to Disney in Florida, could pay for their Christmas Shopping with no stress or credit cards and did this while working full time themselves. I didn’t even ask any questions... I WAS IN! It was exactly what I had been waiting for. I would be able to work out and keep myself in the fittest, slimmest shape of my life, without getting stressed that I couldn’t get to the gym class I had booked, I would be bringing in more money for our future bucket list goals, I would be surrounded by people who believe in the same things I do, And I would be able to run my online business the way I want to with no boundaries but with all the support and training I needed. That all happened in July 2018 and I have never looked back. Now... Our team is growing all the time, there are more of us building our own futures while helping people to feel healthy and strong and all on our own terms. #perfetion#teamwork#ourteamisamazing#lovethislife#livingmydream#fulltimejob#parttimegig#fitnessindustry#onlinebusiness
This afternoon I got a phone call say that my 88 year old Aunt had taken a bad fall. She hit her head and was admitted to the hospital. There’s blood on her brain so they are keeping her and watching her closely for the next 48 hours. I grabbed some oils (remembering how much she loved them after our earthquake) and headed out the door (fatigue...I am done with you for the day) when we got to the hospital, I asked her nurse if it would be ok if I massaged her with oils. Once I got the ok, I sat down and rubbed her feet. She was so happy to see the oils! While I massaged her feet we talked and laughed. For her, oils bring comfort and love. (She loves having her feet rubbed🤣) This little lady is truly amazing. She is not my family by blood. She is my family by choice. An unexpected gift from God through our Alaskan adventures. I am so thankful that her fall today was not worse. #younglivingessentialoils#family#chronicfatigue#alaskalife#familyisntalwaysblood#fibrowarrior#service#naturalremedies#hippychick#plantjuice#getyourhippyon#oillove#oiltherapy#lovethislife
I thought being a mom would be easy. There, I said it. I started babysitting when I was 12, worked in summer camps, childcare centers, nannied for three kids two summers all day five days a week, had classrooms of 25-30 kids some with special needs and always heard the phrase, “You’ll be such a great mom one day..” but truth be told this ish is HARD. The hardest job I’ve ever had. Having two little humans depend on you for everything, every day, all of the time. Figuring out their personalities, their likes, dislikes, helping them learn how to handle emotions, teaching them how to get dressed, listening to “I don’t like that” every time you serve dinner...it’s definitely not easy. Today was a rough one, but tomorrow is a new day. I was chosen to be their momma and God knows I screw it up on the daily but I love them both more than life itself. If you’re in the trenches today too, cheers friend 🥂 #ramblingsofamother#wineme#graceupongrace
