Doing regular things and not just working all the time, as much as I love the work I do, it's nice to take a break and really have perspective on things and go on road trips or go hiking or travel. It keeps me alive and curious. --- Olivia Holt Incredible caption shared via @iliya_07 ______ Tag your hiking partner 🏃 Follow @hikingandtravellling for more and use #hikingandtravellling to share your posts with us, marvelous picture is coming soon. #hikinggirl#hikinglife#hikingadventure
Run. For your life, for your joy, for your calm and peace of mind. Run. Because your legs are strong and your lungs are aching for the taste of air. Run. Because what’s the point of a life spent walking in the middle? @tylerknott ⠀ ⠀ When I was 16 I suffered a spinal cord injury and was pretty sure I would never be able to run again. Yesterday I ran my annual marathon, this time the 26.2 miles (including 13 very painful hills) took me along this coastline. It was neither my fastest nor my slowest marathon. But every time I finish a run like this it reminds me of how lucky I am to be able to do the things I love (even though I won't be able to touch my toes or descend stairs for a few days). ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ * * * * * * * #hikingvibes#hikingtrail#hikingislife#hikinglife#hikingtour#hikinggram#outdoorslife#lovehiking#wildcamping#getoutside
Tucked away behind the U.S. Capitol, the historic home, and headquarters of the National Women’s Party, was the meeting place for the movement to grant women the right to vote. Named for suffragists Alva Belmont and Alice Paul, Belmont-Paul Women's Equality National Monument houses an unparalleled collection of women’s suffrage artifacts. Whether you take one of the guided tours or explore the house on your own, you will find yourself energized by the bravery and ingenuity of the early trailblazers of women’s rights who dared to imagine a different future. Want to know how it really happened ? Ok, we arrived on what seemed to be a great camping spot. Actually it was. We set the tent, pull out the stove, start to chill out a bit when suddenly 2 , 3 , 4 , 9 huge wolf killer dogs arrived fast. 40-50 kilos for most of them, a dirty look and those anti wolf rusty spiky home made collars. The dogs surrounded us and their behavior started to be more and more threatening. At that point the three of us felt like fresh meat on a shelve. Quickly Nil took the decision to jump in the tent and close it. Now we felt like fresh meat in a thin packaging. The dogs were here, laying next to the tent. Finally nil went out and called for the shepherd he saw far away. Him and his son came by in a few minutes and took a sadic pleasure showing us how their dogs are puppies to them. - It was a good lesson to us. We know some of you had real troubles with shepherd dogs while hiking. Hopefully so far with Marie we had luck and always got to react fast enough to avoid drama. Today we understood it can go really fast. Those dogs could have surely kill us and this is a far bigger threat hiking in those countries than the bears or the wolves. - Your experiences with dogs ?
One Step at a Time. Many interesting sights (and sites) can be found within the 605 acres of Kettletown State Park in Oxford and Southbury, Connecticut. Several trails are still closed, or have been rerouted, as a result of the May 15, 2018 severe weather event, but the open areas are perfect for exploration. This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re traveling through the western part of the state on a nice day.
Day 2 of Holidays led from Slovenia to Arco (Italy) on the Gardalake. The city is known for the Boulder-World Championship and is a paradise for Climbers, Mountainbikers, Hikers and all who enjoy Watersports on the great lake. So like the secret "Outdoor-Capital" of Europe. In the great old city center you only see outdoor shops and people who come from their adventures. Loved it from the start - also with 22 degrees and sun. Directly after arrival we did a little Via Ferrata near the city. One the many highlights is their old castle on the Rock. Best City in the World! #arco#alpen#trekking#wandern#berge#mountains#düsseldorfwanderer#hike#hiking#alps#panorama#lovehiking#mountainphotography#bergfotografie#hikevibes#hikersofinstagram#klettersteig#castle#naturfotografie#naturefotography#picofday#outdoor#nature#natur#climbing#klettern#pictureoftheday#rocks#italy#lakegarda
