I woke up to grey skies and got caught up in thinking of the American dream. Somehow, despite how awesome of a time we are having, I found myself thinking about being older and suddenly not “owning” anything anymore... then I realized, most Americans don’t even own anything- it’s all debt. And yet, here we are completely debt free and able to explore the world. What a gift! At anytime we want we can stop and buy a home. What we own is that freedom. But just thinking about it makes me realize we are not done- not even close! . We stood at the cliffs of big sur today, had an awesome lunch in a cafe and walked to a waterfall on the beach. We watched the sun set on the ocean and talked about what we are grateful for. I think the biggest thing would be that freedom, and ability to let go & move forward with eyes wide open.
I've given up a lot to do what's best for him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'd do it again. And again. And again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Forever and ever, in this life and every single one after. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #wherewillshegonext ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What a gorgeous winter day. The French toast I had for breakfast was sitting heavy in my stomach the first couple miles of my run & I almost called it early, but I’m so glad I didn’t & kept truckin along. 9 easy, happy miles on trails around Bear Creek. Saw a couple coyotes 🙊 and also a sign warning about mountain lion sightings - but thankfully didn’t see any! Honestly - what do you even do when you see a mountain lion? Run? I feel like they’re fast. But are they faster than me, that is the question. LOL
I was in darkness all of my life I never knew the day from the night but Spirit you made me see . . I swore I knew the way on my own a head full of rocks a heart made of stone but Spirit you moved in me . . at your touch my sleeping spirit was awakened on my darkened heart the light of Christ has shone called into a Kingdom that cannot be shaken heaven's citizen by grace and grace alone . . [Grace Alone] ✨💕 May these lyrics speak to you in a powerful way today, friends!
As we made our way down to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota we decided to make a small detour to drive through the Black Hills. We had just missed what looked like it would’ve been great foliage, but it was pretty none the less. Anyone else wish they could chase fall forever?! Cuz I sure do. #southdakota#blackhills#waterfall#naturegram
Love yourself and life becomes a party.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ This isn’t something that always comes natural to me but it is something I will continue to reach towards for good mental health. Some days are easier than others, so no matter what you do #loveyourself and have a #happyfriday⠀
🌱The greatest tree was once a little seed who held her ground. Redwoods🌲some of the coolest trees I have ever seen. It felt like they lived on forever in every direction. Their strength and beauty as tall and as wide as the eye could see. Standing underneath their branches reminded me of how small and yet how mighty my presence can be. I have always been fascinated by trees. Especially, the Willow trees that I grew up playing under on Willowdale Farm. It is a special experience to sit under a huge tree that was planted by man or nature long ago and enjoy the view. Our character is like the tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is how we perceive it while the tree is the real thing. Go plant a tree so that in time to come someone can enjoy! 💚#tree #redwoods#redwoodsnationalpark#ontheroad#cheflife#seasonallife#seed#exploremore#livelifeoutside#thelorax
I've rented this adventure beauty for the weekend.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I spent the morning cruising the back roads of the Rocky Mountains taking full advantage of having an off road vehicle for the weekend. The “fourmile” runs through the mountains of the Pike National Forest and has something for everyone... not to mention beautiful views, which are for everyone. ⠀⠀ ⠀
Close your eyes with me for a second and imagine what my hair would look like if I were to take it out of that bun. Just picture Miss Kentucky ‘98 except makeupless, unshowered, was out till 4am night prior and hadn’t seen a brush in awhile. Alright, now open your eyes. Place that image right in the middle of my family’s Christmas card this year. It’s a borderline public offense and 2018 recap all in one holiday greeting.
Here’s our “Chief Adventure Officer” Greg, and his lovely wife Elain enjoying the holiday season in the Alps. They just wrapped up another incredible tour—nothing quite compares to the magic of Christmas in Switzerland✨🎄. Nows the time to reserve your spot for next year!! From a recent hiking trip in Rocky Mountain National Park where we hiked it for the view and the fall colored view was worth the hike! | When I originally designed our shoetag collection it was with a consideration of where the steps of the owners might lead them. Were they meant to encourage someone in their pursuit of weight loss and a healthier lifestyle like "remember why you started," "excuses don't burn calories, " or "sweat is just fat crying." Were they there to set the tone of the endeavor such as, "suck it up buttercup," "do or do not, there is no try," or "hike it for the view." Perhaps the wearer would need a subtle reminder to "walk humbly Micah 6:8," "run with endurance Hebrews 12:1," or "stand fast in the faith 1 Corinthians 16:13." Even to push for the experience of taking life full stride by remembering to "run with your heart" and have "the courage to start and the strength to endure." Really no matter where they are worn or for what purpose, I just hope that all who wear them have the courage and the stamina to go forth and seize the goals they've set for themselves.
