How are you going to level up today in your life? For the past few months I’ve been making it my personal goal to grow in some way each day & though it sounds like a big task...it’s really simple. Everyday I choose to: •journal,usually before I go onto social media •read a book that inspires me or makes me happy •meditate •listen to inspiring podcasts •reflect •hit the gym •choose to remain open and happy (& not let every thing that creates tension in me to control my mood/attitude) ✨ All of these things have made my life 1000x more fulfilling. Sometimes in small ways, but they add up to these great,great things. I really try to take ownership of my happiness daily and actively bc that’s what it requires. If you want to transform your life or boost your happiness,then actively choose to every single day & take ownership of it. That way, no one can take it from you. It’s a process & I’m still learning but the point of life is to learn & experience so let’s continue that together 👊🏼

Happy Hump Day y’all! I recorded about 1/5 of my leg day workout this morning but definitely felt some insecurity about it. There’s something about other people watching me take videos of myself that made me uneasy, but hopefully that’ll go away as my confidence continues to increase. Anyways, here’s the breakdown: Video #1: Jump squats. Using the smith machine currently until my form is perfect and moving to the bar! 3 x 8 reps Video #2: Single leg straight leg deadlift. I almost didn’t post this because I lost my balance, but hey, that’s just something else I need to work on. Finding one spot to focus on throughout all 12 reps helped! 3 x 8 reps each leg Video #3: Box high knee drives. Working on my back and building my wings is one of my most favorite lifting days at the gym... pic from last week my sister captured of me zoning out in my element while concentrating on those back muscles, definitely a stress reliever as I “push and pull” through my gym days just like the rest of the days in my life. [Half year progress] Half year ago, she was doing 35lb with bad form (2nd vid). Now she is doing 125lb with way better form (1st vid). . When you just started lifting, it is totally fine not to hire a coach. There are many ways you could learn how to lift, e.g. Youtube, learn from other lifters. HOWEVER, a good coach can help you to save A LOT of time. And most importantly, build a good foundation and prevent injuries. If you just learn from watching videos or listening to others, you may learn to look like you lift with good form, but not the mechanics behind. Hence, causing a lot of problems like muscle imbalances, and worse, injuries. An experienced coach knows how to set up an individualised program for the student as each person has different goals, body shape, limbs to torso ratio etc. It is definitely worthwhile to spend some money for a few lessons to learn the basics before starting your lifting journey.
