Something wonderful... I’m looking into my future as a vegan now! This happened two weeks ago. I was planning this lifestyle change for February but decided to just jump in.✨ 🌱 I love it. I’m feeling a lot lighter and I’m feeling congruent with my love of animals and my love for the planet & our future.🍃 It only took me 50 years to figure it out lol.🌍 🌾 The first week there were detox symptoms and I was kind of knocked out. You haven’t weighed yourself for 4 weeks because you know the scales fluctuate on a weekly bases. You weigh yourself on the 4th week and to your disbelief you have lost 2kgs over 4 weeks (gold standard is 0.5kg/week). Full day of crossfit comps at @maida_gym tomorrow. Carb loading today ready to smash it tomorrow and come out looking like this again. (And by 'smash it' I mean scale all the workouts right back because Rx is too much for me 😂)
Gotta get those veggies and protein in!! I always like to have at least one meal each day that’s LOADED with veggies and protein. Typically this is my lunch. I almost always have some sort of variation of this “burrito bowl”, or as I like to call it, bowl of health!🌱 . It changes slightly depending on what I have available, but it typically consists of cauliflower rice, peppers, mushrooms, kale, spinach, and whatever other veggies I have. Then I’ll throw in a protein source of either chicken or turkey burger, usually whatever we have left over from dinner the night before. I sauté allll of that with some salt, pepper, cumin, and chili powder and then top with salsa. Sometimes I’ll throw in some dairy free cheese depending on what my fats are looking like for the day! . Also, having a high volume, lower calorie meal like this earlier in the day gives me more macros to play around with at dinner time, when my meals are typically a little more calorie dense👌🏽 . Your meals don’t have to be bland and boring! I literally look forward to this meal every day and I don’t get sick of it because it’s so good! Spice things up and try it out 💃🏼

I am a big fan of finding new healthy recipes to try. I am not a person that can eat the same thing every day and I need variety. Pinterest has been a huge help in finding new things to try! Statements like this come from a place of self loathing and lack of commitment. It’s NOT that you’ve tried everything; it’s that the effort, consistency and mindset weren’t there 😱 Whether it’s food that’s the struggle, not showing up for workouts due to fatigue/excuses/lack of motivation, emotions or not giving a damn, I can tell you it’s a way happier lifestyle when the word DIET is eliminated. To let go of that restrictive feeling. To find the balance and know that 1 day isn’t going to “screw it all up.” This world is fixated on quick fixes and everything happening when WE want.
