Lunch today was a combo of leftovers! I had a little ranch chicken taco meat left from the other day and a little spicy alfredo sauce left from last night. So I boiled some brown rice pasta and added the two to the noodles then topped with some nutritional yeast and bam. So good!
How often do we look at ourselves in the mirror and are not satisfied with what we see? Its is common that we are very self conscious and seek an image that proceeds our present physicality. Where some people even get stuck or even frustrated with why they are not seeing a change. Early on in my life I started to develop the concern for my physique. I'd say as early as junior high. I started to really pay attention to my physical appearance. More so for the concern of attraction. I paid more attention to what I looked like due to my insecurities than I did for health purpose. I developed a eating disorder that unknowingly stuck with me from my teenage years to my early adult years. Shortly after I added the experimental diet supplement approach. Every fat loss product on the self was something I wanted to try to see any change to my weight. Bouncing up and down from 30-15 pounds losing or gaining. Nothing truly consistent. Some people would say this is a desperate approach to weight loss, but very common in many people. Once I started to see that of adding something to my diet , I should try to change it instead. So, I decided to experiment in fad dieting, not to mention hours of exercising. Anything to see permanent change. Throughout the years of experimenting with what works best for my body I've learned that the importance of diet and exercise is key to any transformation. With years of trying every diet fad I've learned that the results that I seek, reflect on the consistency that I input into the journey. I was looking at my past Facebook photos today, and for once, the old memories didn’t hurt. They didn’t make my heart sink or cringe. They made me feel amazing that I am no longer letting the past determine my future and made me excited for where my life is headed. Today, 6 years ago, was a pivotal point in my life. I thought that I met the person I was supposed to be with forever. Well God certainly had different plans—I I finally realized the WHY. Do you look back on your life and feel sad about past memories? Or are you happy that your life took a turn a different direction. Without changing my lifestyle and the ability to realize my worth—my life would be completely different. #tbt

Today's PSA: 👏THE👏SCALE👏IS👏A👏LIAR👏 . I feel like a lot of people really need to hear this. The scale shows you your relationship with gravity, and is great as a TOOL to help track progress. But you are not defined by that number, and it is NOT always a true representation of what's actually happening with your body. Case in point: there are only 6lbs in the difference between these pictures. I was eating so well with the @21daymealplan and busting my ass at the gym. When I weighed myself on the last day, I thought I failed, and was about to throw in the towel - UNTIL I SAW THIS SIDE BY SIDE. I dropped 14 inches, I felt AMAZING, my anxiety/depression were manageable, I was sleeping better, my skin cleared and my nails are growing better! . Remember, if you are working out you are building muscle and burning fat. Because muscle is more dense than fat, you can lose inches and not have that directly reflected on the scale - and that doesn't mean you failed! PLUS, exercise causes water retention because you're building muscle - essentially you're mircro-tearing your muscles and then repairing them. So, seriously: step off the scale, take pictures and measurements, listen to your body and just trust the process. It works. 💜
