Gems of Hamburg ____________________________________________ I am in love with this part of Hamburg. This quaint walk passing picturesque houses on one side and the Elbe and the beach on the other side is a great gem. Take your bike, run, or walk along the Elbe out West of Hamburg and find the beach you like the most.
Day 10 The bay of Portonovo, is located in the middle of a nature reserve. Right behind, the Monte Conero is located in front of which we have set up our camp today 😉! Schapa loves to be in natural environment like this, so we did take a really long walk and enjoyed the peace and silence here🧘🏻♀️... There are some nice spots around here so I think we will stay until wednesday to explore a little bit 🧗🏻♀️⛰🏝
Anytime we go on national park we always worry that we would not be able to see anything since most of them do not allow dogs on trails, only on paved road. And we always hate it to leave the dogs in the van unless the weather is safe for them. So most of the time we ended up skip national parks. And when we found out that dogs are allowed on the rim trail at grand canyon, we believe ourself it must have just a paved trail where you would not be able to see anything. We were wrong.. the view was so incredible. The more you walk through the trail the more colors you see of the canyon. The dogs love it..
This is where we found out Abby has quality carpeting skills :) We cleaned out the above cab area and lined the upper roof part with dodo matting insulation. Once that was stuck we covered the top and sides with grey carpet and the base in dark grey. Still undecided with what to have in this area; doors, storage boxes or rope securers. Any ideas? . . . . . #vanlifediaries#vanlife #project#carpeting#ford#fordtransit#campervan#camper#lifeontheroad#campervanconversion#conversion#houseonwheels #dodomat#home#keswick#lakedistrict
Happy #earthday!!! . For decades when I lived in a house in the suburbs or the city and spent most of my time floating from one boxed structure to the next and occasionally recreating in pristine manicured parks it was shamefully easy to largely ignore how my lifestyle was impacting our planet. I'd heard the science. I'd seen the pictures. But somehow it all seemed distance and separate from my world. . It wasn't until I began traveling and spending most of my time outside in our public spaces, lands, and in and out of our national parks that it began to sink in. From the copious amounts of trash littering hundreds of thousands of miles of highway, to the impact of changing rainfall patterns in places like Joshua Tree (the area receives about 1/10th of the rain it did just 100 years ago), to the woeful clumps of plastic that wash up on our shores... It breaks my heart. . I've been incredibly thankful for the opportunities I've had this year to participate in organized beach cleanups with @maramororg along the Caribbean and @thevanlifeapp in San Diego. Together we collected hundreds of pounds of trash, but even after that there were places where it looked like we'd not even made a dent. And that was just the stuff that's easy to see and pick up. . It's so easy to take for granted the way our societal systems are setup to maximize speed and easy and to not take note of the price of things like "disposable" batteries, styrofoam take out containers, the plastic we use for groceries, produce, snacks, to-go drinks, etc that we only use once before we throw it away. It all has to go somewhere... . I've created a Story Highlights album you can find on my profile called Eco Tips that features some easy changes we all can make to begin to shrink the impact of our waste as well as some of the consequences of ignoring our footprints. . I hope you get to spend some time today outside enjoying the beauty and fruits of our planet and taking some time to consider how we can help
Being out in nature is the best form of healing. It offers the stillness that we often do not have enough of. It offers the warmth of the sun on your cheeks and other times cool droplets of water soaking into your skin. I let times like these be cleansing and healing. It’s an incredible form of therapy that we come back to time and time again. Thank you planet Earth for all that you offer us. Happy Earth Day! —Karissa #earthday#naturestherapy#monteromonday
Yesterday was a big day for us and we were so busy loving' on family we didn't get to celebrate with y'all... . . Happy 1 year rv travel anniversary to us!!❤🥂 . . A year ago yesterday I made the drive from Texas to Maryland in a rental minivan with all 3 pups to meet up with my better half to start our rv travel life. Not a day goes by that I'm not abundantly thankful for all the people I've met, the sacrifices I made, the things I sold, the places I've seen, the memories we have collected, the self growth that has built me into a stronger woman and wife, and of course the tasty food.😉 . . A huge thankyou to all of my #fulltimerv community here on ig for teaching me all the things, filling my cup, sharing insightful tips, and loving on us through this last year! We are truly blessed and thankful! . . Oh...and we got our outdoor area looking pretty snazzy! What do y'all think?
From High Springs FL, our plan was to head to Siesta Key. We had read a little bit about the red tide but it seemed like it wasn’t too bad. Luckily, some other campers we had met were just there and told us how bad it actually was. The park we were currently at was already booked so we needed to find a new place to stay. We ended up finding a spot on @hipcamp. It had good reviews, it was cheap, and in the general direction of our route. So we went for it. • When we arrived we were slightly concerned. Picture bikers meet swamp on a long dirt road. There was a giant pirate ship, flags hanging from trees, and a clubhouse. We went inside and met Fran (which is also the name of our camper), who runs the place. She was so kind and welcoming and just not what we were expecting at all. She showed us our spot which was near some full time residents. We met their goats and Hank chased them around. Fran invited us to come back to the clubhouse for drinks and to use their WiFi. • Since Scooter Haven is a members only biker club we drank for free 🙌🏼. Fran let Hank come inside and he napped on a chair while we edited photos and watched cable tv. The kitchen was closed but Fran gave us some of her own food. She told us stories about their biker club and the meaning behind the pirate ship. When we were done she lent us her flashlight so we could see in the dark. • Our stay there was far from what we expected and in the best way. It was definitely rough around the edges but Fran’s hospitality is what would bring us back. • • • • • #homeonwheels#homeiswhereyouparkit#rvlifestyle#fulltimerv#allaboutadventure#optoutside#seeyououtthere#getoutside#roam247#iamatraveler#ourcamplife#everyoneoutside#theoutbound#radparks#floridatravel#lovefl#rvnomads#lifeontheroad#thisismyroute#stayandwander#wildernessmakesyoubetter#scooterhaven
Happy Monday! JP and I have been discussing a lot in our weekly meetings the inner work we are doing in our lives. Some of it is painful, some of it hard, and some of it very exciting. As travelers, we often discuss our travels that have lead to life-changing experiences. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You don't have to travel full time, like we do, in order to have life-changing experiences. So this got us thinking, what life-changing experience are you grateful for?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This photo is one of mine (Amanda). My boyfriend and I spend the better part of a day in Singapore's Changi Airport. It's a magical place. You forget you're in an airport! It's incredible!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Well, they have a butterfly garden where you can go and see hundreds of amazing butterflies. You walk in and your senses go crazy. You hear the rushing waterfall, smell sweet flowers, see butterflies fluttering all around you, and even have butterflies land on you. I love butterflies! I think they are magical. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is one of those life-changing experiences for me from Singapore which I will never forget. Jimmy walking around shooting video and taking incredible photos like this one, and me playing with the butterflies. Arms outstretched, joyfully laughing, as butterflies landed on my hands, face, shoulders, and arms. It felt like, for a small moment, I was a character in my own fairytale. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What about you? What is a life-changing experience you've had?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Photo: Singapore's Changi Airport⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Taken by: Amanda's Boyfriend Jimmy⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Love this post?
