Oasis released Some Might Say as the first single from (What's The Story) Morning Glory? on this day in 1995. It was the band's first number one single in the UK & is arguably their finest & most complete collection of songs on a single. The b-sides were: - Talk Tonight - Acquiesce - Headshrinker The Japanese version also included Some Might Say (demo) & Noel's cover of The Beatles classic You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. It was also the last time that Tony McCarroll was involved with the band before being replaced by Alan White. #oasis#somemightsay#whatsthestorymorningglory#liamgallagher#noelgallagher#bonehead#guigsy#tonymccarroll#creationrecords
The masterplan by @oasis review: Both of the vinyls themselves are of a high quality and I love the note inside with careful descriptions of songs it adds a personal touch that I love. This album is a masterpiece, a collection of B sides that are so profound and in general sound absolutely amazing it’s a mystery they weren’t a-sides. Only thing I am annoyed about is the fact that step out isn’t on the album 😂 from half the world away to rockin’ chair to a cover of the Beatles song “I am the walrus” every song has its own charm. It features more songs with Noel vocals than the average oasis album but with songs like the masterplan and half the world away I’m not complaining even though I prefer Liam’s voice overall (especially on rockin chair). Definitely worth a listen 💙
STORY OF "SHAKERMAKER" It was one of the group's first hit. Noel says that to write the song he used the things that happened around him. For example, "Shakermaker" was a very popular toy in the year 1970, the character of "Mr. Soft" was taken from a propaganda, "Mr. Ben" is a character in an English caricature for children and all the last verse "Mister Sifter sold me songs when I was just sixteen now he stops at traffic lights but only when they're green" It was written in a taxi way to the recording studio. Apparently, while Liam was telling Noel to finish the song, the taxi stopped at that traffic light. Mr. Sifter refers to the owner of a record store, who told Noel that if he ever became famous, he would put his name on one of his songs. This is the best known version. But there is another version that says that Noel worked in a milkshake company making milk shakes, he simply hated that job and that's why his friends nicknamed him Shakermaker. So taking advantage of a tune from a Coca-Cola ad that he had seen pass through a TV store he composed a song about him and the life he carried with the name "Shakermaker". "Shakemaker" was considered a plagiarism and that's why Oasis had to pay US $ 500,000, when Noel was asked what he thought about the sentence, he said:“Now we drink Pepsi." 😂 🔴first video: "Shakermaker" Live at Wembley 2000 😁 🔴Second video: Oasis about "Shakemaker" (part 1) 🔴Third video: Oasis about "Shakermaker" (part 2) 🔴Fourth video: Oasis about "Shakermaker" (part 3) @liamgallagher @themightyi @boneheadspage @oasis . . . . . ×IGNORE IT× . . . . #oasis#liamgallagher#noelgallagher#photography#bonehead#britpop#rock#biblical#art#music#beauty#beautiful#artist#photooftheday#knebworth#love#instagood#supersonic#fashion#theverve#instadaily#followme#uk#like4like#follow4follow#tbt#england#model#picoftheday#happy
