Apparently this was the slogan of the National Confectioners Association from the 1920s to 1950s. I knew I had to make this vintage cut into a card for the sweet tooths (teeth?) out there! Shop link in bio. #candyisdeliciousfood#candy#sweettooth 🍬🍫🍭
Here’s the finished poster from the backgrounds I posted earlier. Some wedding posters for some of my favorite people, @daveygravey and @lindsaylous. I made a background that lines up with each poster to make an infinite, mosaic-like pattern. The thought is that it symbolizes the family and friends coming together for them, not just for this specific moment, but as a community of support too. It was a great time with great friends that I don’t get to see often enough. Congrats Dave and Lindsay and love you both! #letterpress#printmaking#woodcut#woodtype#metaltype#geometric

'Aunt Sallie’s Lament' by Margaret Kaufman and Claire Van Vliet. "The poem tells the story of a quilter reminiscing about a love lost but not forgotten. Each stanza of the poem is accompanied by a muttering, one or two words printed at the edge of the page, which remain in view as each subsequent page is turned." This diamond-shaped book designed by Claire Van Vliet is in an accordion fold format, based on a binding structure developed by Hedi Kyle and made with Linda Wray and boxes made by Judi Conant. Printed for Claire Van Vliet's Janus Press in 1988 in an edition of 150 copies. _____________________________ #auntsallieslament#margaretkaufman#clairevanvliet#hedikyle#januspress#uwmspecialcollections#artistbook#bookarts#letterpress#accordianbook#accordianfold
