☠️Death by Leg Day ☠️ Yesterday was the first workout I’ve done following the routine @fit.devin gave me for this week. Not going to lie at one point I thought “What did I get myself into?!?” This workout was killer, but hey... what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? 🤔 . Here’s the breakdown: 🔥Superset 1 – x5🔥 1️⃣Barbell Squats, which each set increase weight and decrease reps. I did the following: 20@65lbs 15@85lbs 10@95lbs 5@105lbs 3@115lbs 2️⃣After each set do 30(15/leg alternating legs) walking lunges with hops. 🔥Super Set 2 — x5🔥 1️⃣20 hamstring curls 2️⃣20/leg single stiff leg RDL 🔥Super Set 3 —x5🔥 1️⃣20 Hip Thrusters holding for a couple seconds at the top of each one... ouch much? 2️⃣15/leg front to back lunges (1 front + 1 back =1 rep) . . Throwback to just last week. 😢 PR was 305, definitely could have done more, but i chose not to push it bcus i didn’t want to get hurt. 🤷🏻♀️ —— I never thought I’d get hurt doing something outside the gym, or in general tbh. Don’t do front flips for fun guys. 🤦🏻♀️ (inner child in me) ——- I still have mixed feelings about my foot. I broke it, and cracked a different bone above my toe as well. Funny thing when the doctor asked me “do you think it’s broken” i said no, did i pinch a nerve or something? Lol he laughed and said “oh it’s broken” —— I am mainly annoyed with myself, and frustrated i can’t do simple tasks. Crawling is easier than using these dumb crutches. lol Shit sucks!! First thing i also thought about was “man will i be able to squat again” for real —— BUT i won’t let this set me back, i know i am strong af and this will pass. Hopefully i don’t need surgery, and it’ll heal on it’s own. Only thing i can control now is being more on point with my nutrition and doing upper body in a couple of weeks. How to Grip the Ground When You Squat. . Before performing a squat or any other leg exercise we must create a stable base from the foot through the hip muscles and up to the core muscles! . A stable base will balance the load on all the joints and bones. . The principle is to statically activate the foot muscles in order to maintain the arch, and at the same time to activate the hip rotators by rotating the hip outward, in order to stabilize the knee and the hip, and also to contact the core muscles. . How do you do this simply? You can perform two actions that can activate all the relevant muscles: ☑️ Press the big toe down onto the floor. ☑️ Rotate the hip externally – drive your knee outward, and at the same time push the legs to the sides as if you want to separate them. . A short practice of these two actions will give you a very important motor pattern that from now on can serve as a basis for all leg exercises. .
