Pastaio is a welcome addition to the Canary wharf food scene, their pastas are beautifully prepared - we absolutely love their sauces. Our go to dish is definitely the Rigatoni - the slow cooked tomato sauce is simple yet delicious and definitely one of their more reasonably priced pastas on the menu. Portion sizes could be a tad bit bigger for the price compared to what you can get at a few other pasta joints in the wharf but their pasta sauces definitely trump the likes of Scarpetta in the area.

The char from their own farm was very good, lovely texture and delicate flavors. They even served the liver of the char - a first for me. l’Auberge de l’Ill ** • 3 stars for 50+ years and demoted to 2 this year. To be honest, and in my personal opinion, our experience was barely two stars. I can think of many one star places that I personally think are better in execution, precision of cooking and composition of dishes. A young American chef and his wife opened this restaurant in 2011 and they have continued to push the envelope in terms of cuisine, service and ambience, and we are so here for it. We first discovered them, ironically, with their second resto, @ellsworth.paris which is a fan favorite for Chef Braden’s fried chicken. At this place, @verjusparis, there is only a seasonal tasting menu, with or without wine pairings, and let me tell you you’re in great hands. . . From the start with chickpea “tortillas” filled with what I can only describe as Spring exploding in your mouth, through the white asparagus w lardons, the French toast with crimini mushrooms, the artichokes and the spicy endive to the main event chicken two ways ... it was a lovely trip and we were grateful to take it. . . The wine pairings were perfect, mostly natural and/or organic wines from small vineyards in France. . . Don’t forget, tho, to prendre un verre in the cave downstairs, where the lovely Lola will pour some great wines and make you feel at home. . . We honestly can’t recommend this enough. This has been one of my favorite snacks lately! @so_delicious dairy free coconut milk yogurt, @thesolacompany maple pecan chocolate granola, and then I add whatever toppings I feel like that day! In this picture I added blueberries, banana and raspberries. After this picture was taken I decided to add @wild_friends classic creamy peanut butter and @navitasorganics cocoa nibs! This was so delicious! Highly recommended! 🤤
Cocktails.. 🍹 You surely know how in love I am with cocktails and creative drinks in general. So I couldn’t miss once again the creations of our talented Head bartender @harrynikolaou ✨ He is really passionate about his work and always find the good recipe for you to have the best cocktail at the right moment.
