El A'awar & Mullen. "Imagine." 2018. Rabáh El A’awar, born 26 Feb 1984, and Jan Irvin Mullen, born 19 Mar 1985, are both photographers and digital artists. They first met in 2017 when they discovered one another’s artworks on social media. Given the similarity in their artistic vision, themes, and reinventionist style in photography, which is marked by their kaleidoscopic transformation - or ‘reinvention’ - of their photographic artworks into a whole new visual and purposeful representation, they both decided to join forces as artists and social media influencers to present their art to the public with hopes of positively influencing the minds and hearts of their international audience and followers. Their art themes center around socio-political issues, including racial tolerance and integration, gender equality and the growing ‘genderless revolution’, class conflict, globalism, and environmentalism. Together, they had their first group exhibition in 2018 with other residential and local artists in Dubai, and while Mullen is new to the art scene, El A’awar had previously exhibited in group art shows in London, Houston, and Dubai. They also jointly plan that their future shows are to include both of their individual and collaborative artworks, and that is interestingly because they regard their collective as a single artist. Nonetheless, the photograph in this post highlights the humanist vision of El A'awar & Mullen (@elaawarmullen), representing two figures standing tall at the crossroads, in a moment of awakening, enlightened and inspired by the teachings of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, in their iconic creation "Imagine" (1971). In the words of Lennon, "I hope some day you'll join us, and the world will live as one."
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times ... f%ck the peace sign and bye bye bye. ✌️ . I’ve learned to accept people for who they are, not who I want them to be. I’ve also learned to walk away from them for the same reason. . #countingmyblessings & the fantastic people in my life who never even fooled me once. 🙏🖤 . . . . . . #california#losangeles#leatherjacket#sheisnotlost#nightphotography#portrait_vision#closeup#nightnight#portrait#blogueuse#frenchgirl#parisienne#blonde#lacma#portraitmode#moi#mavie#allofthelights#polishgirl#faces#speechlessplaces#portrait_shots#frenchblogger#travelblogger#wanderer#restingbitchface
“Tears on the Steering Wheel” There used to be a band called “Drivin n Cryin” which I thought was a pretty funny name for a band until I’d done it a few times. The road can set you free but you need to be prepared to spend some time with yourself. You might be surprised at who you’ll find.
