Ryosuke Ando’s exhibition will end tomorrow, 22 June 2019, take this opportunity to bring home a piece of his work before the exhibition comes to a close.  Ryosuke Ando creates works mainly using the mold casting method with distinctive features of ceramic carving, as well as gold and silver painting. After molding, the ceramic are further shaped and even crushed before decoration. [Company Introduction Vol.04] Kokura Shima Shima (Fukuoka Prefecture, founded in1996) . “Kokura-ori” was the specialty of the Buzen Kokura clan during the early Edo period – known today as Kitakyushu City in Fukuoka Prefecture. The textile, which features a three-dimensional gradation of vertical stripes, was mainly used in the making of hakama (a long-pleated wide pants worn over the kimono) and obi (a broad sash for the kimono) for the samurai.The brand “KOKURA SHIMA SHIMA” which is headed by Ms. Hideko Watanabe undertakes the mass production of the wider machine loom version of Kokura-ori. .
