While there is lot of work ahead I'd like to share some shots of light and shadow game on the handle. Despite having new locking system inside the prototype I seem to spend more time on searching shape and lines than on machanics. Aesthetics of appearance is probably the most important thing for me if we talk about things created for pleasure of owning. #tkachenkoknifeart#knifedesign#customknives#knifemaking
Another one out!:) as usual, all of it handmade, the leather knife pocket as well as the knifehandle I made out of swamp oak and aluminium. This one is perfect for kitchen use 🔪 Dont be shy to leave comments how you like it;)
Got a sweet tooth? Forged from an old rasp. A 4.5" blade with a G-10 handle. #knifemaking#handmade#raspknife#knifedesign#usamade#azmade#arizonamade#edc#everydaycarry#farrierrasp#madeinarizona #americanmade#knifepics#knifenutknifefanatic#customknife
This year is going to be a big one for Vachon Knives. Lots of new things in store and a focus on making more knives available for more people who want them. This means scaling back on custom orders. I'll be taking only ten custom projects for 2019 with the goal of completing one per month from February to November. I'll be open to discussing sets, Bowies, hunters, cleavers and of course chef knives. My minimum cost for custom work is $500. To reserve a spot, send me a message with a brief description of what you have in mind. We'll have a quick chat and if you're ready to reserve I'll ask for a $100 deposit. If at some point you decide you'd rather not wait and you see an available knife of mine that you like you can use the deposit as a credit toward its purchase (provided no special materials have been ordered for your project and work hasn't begun). I hope this method works for you guys. I'll try to take on a few more custom projects later in the year. Thanks so much for all your support!
