Waking up this morning I feel like I have been hit by a train my body aches that much. Then I realised I’ve just finished my 5th day in a row of doing a combination of kickboxing, self defence and kettlebells. One day of which was grading and then last night was my first full session of sparring. A lie in would be nice but unfortunately my day job that pays the bills awaits. Tonight is self defence and kettlebells then I can have a day off from training tomorrow night. No rest for the wicked. 😅 A lot of ppl I know wonder why I do so much. It’s because when I am there I love it. I love learning the technical side of it all, I also love the days when you just slug it out and get that physical release. I love going and feeling a part of something and also I secretly love that I get to kick ass and learn some really cool moves... anyone seen my superman punch? or the fact that I’m just learning new choke holds and counters in self defence 😂 If I didn’t have this then I’d just be sat at home, no friends, all alone watching tv like a potato. (No offence to potato’s). You gotta find something that you love in life and just do it. Dont be a spectator and actually live your life. X
. Фотограф: @mihail_lezhnev . THE MOST IMPORTANT - BREAK! Break stereotypes. . Don’t listen to those people who say: “This is impossible. You will not make it.". You just have to see your goal and go to it. And then these same people will say: “What a great fellow you are! We always believed in you! ” But don’t listen to them ... . Ernesto Hoost @hoost.ernesto is the greatest heavyweight kickboxer of all time. His fights against Bob Sapp go viral because it’s used as the ultimate example of how size and strength can overcome technique. I’ve gotten heavy requests to feature this match, but I’ve refused so far for various reasons. 🔥🔥🔥 For me, a technician like Hoost gives clarity to a fight, an otherwise very chaotic event. All fights have elements of chaos, and Sapp represented that to the highest degree. With 320+ pounds of muscle, a lifetime of elite sports background / special supplements and strategies by legendary coaches, the Sapp that showed up to face Hoost was a nightmare. Anything he does is dangerous despite not being optimal. 🔥🔥🔥 But people only see Sapp as a freak with no technique and no heart. For a GOAT kickboxer like Hoost, this must have been a nightmare of hate to deal with throughout the years. Sapp would have a fantastic legacy if that remained his priority. Mirko Cro Cop once said that Sapp could’ve been one of the greatest fighters of all time, if he wasn’t so busy “losing.” 🔥🔥🔥 There’s a few more considerations in this feud. The first match was a stoppage by TKO, with finishing shots thrown after the bell. In this second match, Hoost dominated the majority of the bout. You have to give credit to Sapp, he showed up to this fight with tremendous warrior spirit - he was almost finished MULTIPLE times and did not give up. 🔥🔥🔥 Instead, Sapp kept getting up and rallied back against Hoost. In the end, Sapp had Hoost in the corner and while Hoost was defending himself, the referee stops the fight. It was an unfair stoppage, but a lot of casual fans only cares about highlighting the knockdown and the two stoppage loss. I know that if Hoost was given the chance to continue, he would’ve won. Many people care only about what appears on paper, instead of realizing that unfair things happen ALL THE TIME in combat sports.
