ok. after the beef bowl, we should have a look at a Japanese pork bowl. a Buta-Don is pork belly on rice simmered in a sweet sauce usually topped with onions, some greens and other stuff. I got mine at a legendary place called Buta-Daigaku in Shinbashi close to my office. Daigaku is a real og when it comes to pork belly on rice. located in a big concrete shopping mall next to the Shinbashi station they have been cooking up this dish for a long time for. the whole place looks old and romantic, is full of patina and its interior is reduced to the few things that a restaurant actually needs - a kitchen, a counter, chairs, I like that. Daigaku is special for a couple of reasons. One is their extra large bowls that are literally covered with pork belly. I ordered a large bowl, but yes, there also is a XL available. On top of that, they got their own sweet-spicy bbq sauce the pork is marinated is, that really gives the whole bowl and the rice under this madness a sweet sensation. on top of that - probably most important - they take their time. they don't serve ready-made bowls or any pork belly that got grilled already. every order gets grilled right after you buy a ticket on the machine, it's not real fast food you order here. of course, I ordered an onset egg on top, cause this is my way of the ninja, and of course, this meal was straight heaven. soft meat, the right amount of burned flavours, perfect bbq sauce, deep orange yolk. just go there. oishi
Japanese BBQ at @gyukakumiami ¡Increíble! .. .. 💵 u$s 100 p/2 con bebida 📍 Brickell, Miami - FL 🏆 Un 10.
