Hope everyone had a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! I honestly don't celebrate this holiday besides sometimes dressing in green, which I didn't even do yesterday. But I tried to make it a fun day for my kids. Ultimately that ended with me screaming at them because I'd lost all patience and my daughter telling me she hopes a nice mommy can come visit soon. I took them to a birthday party, to visit my dad at his rehab center, to lunch TWICE! (@dennysdiner in Hanover Park - really, WTF happened yesterday???) I took them to the mall to eat with their cousins, my mom bought everybody a bunch of stuff (THANKS MOMMY!!!) At one point, #3 ran off and I couldn't find him for what seemed like a lifetime, but was probably only 2.5 minutes. Thankfully my brother kept his cool and found him. I did not keep my cool and probably looked like one of those moms you see in movies running around screaming their kid's name and looking like a lunatic. Ugh. I spilled an entire McDonald's large soda all over my living room floor. Guys. I'm tired. These kids are on Spring Break for 2 weeks. That was just the start of the nonsense I'm sure is to come the rest of this month. If you never hear from me again, I've died from exhaustion and stress. Or maybe just from falling on a sticky living room floor. 📷 - my 7 year old. I paid him with chocolate. I can't find this shirt online, but it's from @nyandcompany 💋 #theglammom#nyandcompany#ootd#psootd#splatterpaint#jacksonpollack#psfashion#plussize#style#fashion#fashiongram#wiw#outfitshare#momstyle#fashioninsta#plussizemodel#fashioninspo#currentlywearing#wcbcstyle#chicago#chicagostyle#chicagogram#chicagogrammers#chicagoinfluencer#chicagoigers#curves#goldenconfidence#slay#fatshion
Shortly after Dave and I started dating, his grandfather, whom he didn’t know well growing up, passed away. While his mom was cleaning out his apartment, Dave and I saw this huge painting on the wall and instantly fell in love. It’s been with us in four different homes now and is my favorite possession. We have no idea what it’s a painting of (A horse? A harlequin?) or who painted it, but the initials “FT” are in the corner, and the painter obviously loved Pollack. (In fact, a friend once said to me, in all seriousness, that we could “sell the Pollack” if we ever needed money.) I never knew Dave’s grandfather, but I’m so thankful we have this piece of him.
Every Which Way But Loose https://buff.ly/2H69QOG⠀ ⠀ Inspiration: Jackson Pollack’s “Convergence” 1952⠀ ⠀ This piece started with heavy swirls of orange reds and primary yellow. Layer by layer more color was added, scraped for days. Near the end of the piece I began to fling paint at the canvas every which way but loose. The heavy impasto work is all done by pallet knife and is meant to give additional texture to the piece. This piece is finished with professional grade satin varnish and ready to hang in your home. ⠀ See this and more at https://buff.ly/2EkGnOH ⠀ #artcollector#jacksonpollack#convergence#pollack#actionpainting#drippainting#artmakescbus
Not ripped out of a Jackson Pollack painting! Beautifully carved piece of Spot Jasper with a Pearl at the center. This flower never needs watering, just needs your love! #flowers#gardeners#jasperjewelry #jacksonpollack#brooches #handcarvedstone#spotjasper#dalmationjasper#handmadejewelry
It’s worth returning to this image if only for the sliver of art history it represents. Few other than scholars of mid-century American art would recognize this surprising painting as a work by Jackson Pollack, executed during the period of his association with Thomas Hart Benton. #jacksonpollack#thomashartbenton
Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie is back! Back in 2015 we had a friend foraging the most beautiful wild berries up in Washington, so, naturally, we built a modest pie. Then we dug in with our hands and painted our ice cream Jackson Pollock-style by chucking globs of that gooey berry filling and golden-brown pie crust (from our friends at @grandcentralbakery) into our classic salted vanilla ice cream—our favorite way to create tubs of deliciousness worth digging into right out of the ice cream machine.
