Making Time to Eat . Do you ever find you get so busy you forget to eat or don’t get time to eat? Leading to hours without eating and then resorting to a takeaway or an easy fix in a hurry. . With long work days, it can sometimes seem like a chore to fit in time for food, lunch especially. I see it a lot that people are barely eating throughout the day for various reasons, be it lack of time, a diet approach or being unprepared. . By making time to eat during the day, even using phone reminders to have your lunch or snack can help put a bit more routine into your day in terms of nutrition. . Eating regularly throughout the day can help prevent the night-time bingeing or grabbing food in a rush. . Sometimes I train arms too.. . So how much should YOU train arms? . For beginners, direct arm training is kind of silly. As a beginner you have a unique opportunity to grow that you’ll never have again. So why waste valuable training time on movements that just don’t matter that much?Better to focus on things like chins and rows. They’ll still build biceps and you’ll get much stronger. . Having said that, 99% of people (men) will ignore me and do arms anyway. It’s okay, I’ve accepted this as a law of the universe. So you may as well train them right. Here are some guidelines: . 1️⃣ Use full range of motion. Healthier for your joints and scientifically proven to build more muscle. Nobody cares what you can cheat curl. Really. . 2️⃣ Don’t go too heavy. Keep most of your sets somewhere between 6 - 20. Isolation exercise done heavy are a recipe for pain - the bad kind. . 3️⃣ If doing arms twice per week, do one day higher reps and one day lower reps. Also only do them AFTER the main lifts.

Supplements (or lack of) are not the reason that you aren’t making gains, a question I ALWAYS get asked. Sure there are SOME that can be beneficial but the most likely reason you are struggling to build muscle is 1 of the following ➖ Not eating enough: A kcal surplus will create the most OPTIMAL environment for growth along with facilitating intense workouts & though you can build muscle without one (Donnelly et al 1993), the rate at which you do will be sig. less than that with a surplus (Aragon et al 2017). Also, be sure to consume adequate PROTEIN as it is the building blocks to new muscle tissue therefore, intakes of AT LEAST 1.2g/kg are advised (Phillips 2006), more like 1.6-3g (Helms et al 2013) ➖ Training: Studies show that in order to progress & build muscle you have to progressively overload by actually TRYING to add sets/reps/weight/reduce rest etc. over time (Häkkinen et al 1994). Thus, if you don’t train HARD enough, you’re not going to be making gains. Also, if you don’t train FEQUENTLY enough then you may be compromising your ability to grow as higher frequencies are best if seeking to maximise hypertrophy (Schoenfeld et al 2016). Finally, though cardio is great for CV health & fitness (Geliebter et al 1997), when abused, has shown to sig. impair recovery & overall hypertrophy (Highton et al 2009, Nader 2006, Hickson 1980) along with burning more “unnecessary” kcals which you may actually require for fuelling growth (back to point 1) thus use it sparingly ➖ Stress & sleep: Sleep is required for biological & mental regeneration & a lack of it has shown to cause increases in cortisol (STRESS) thus leading to changes in feeding behaviour, glucose regulation, blood pressure & a reduction in anabolic hormones like test & IGF1 & reduced performance which together

Tomorrow myself and Jack are getting the train up to Dublin for a significant milestone in my life to date.  10 years ago in 2009 after 3 years in college studying to become a primary school teacher I began teaching. I had many lovely years teaching. My first class I taught was First Class, I then took them on to Second Class. I decided to then teach the SEN class for two years and back into mainstream to have second class again and then back into SEN once again teaching the junior ASD unit.  I have so many fond memories of my time teaching in such a wonderful school with a brilliant staff but after taking a career break for the last number of years to peruse my business and my passion helping others and still teaching just in a different way, it is time to go back and say goodbye as I resign my Permanent post.  I've taken risks in life because I truly believe in our time on earth we should be doing what sets our soul on fire in that present moment. I don't want to live with what ifs and because of the choice I took back in 2016 and all the events that unfolded since then I have led myself to my life here in Kerry with my fiancé 😍 my Son, JPs amazing children and of course running the business.  I loved teaching and I wouldn't rule out going back in the future perhaps but for now I'm proud of taking the leap, so happy with my life path and where it led me and I'm ready to thank my school for wonderful memories and say goodbye to that chapter of my life. It will be one I'll always remember. ❤️❤️❤️

🤯GAME CHANGER🤯 . 🤔This label of good and bad food really needs to go in my opinion. Of course some foods are higher in quality than others, but nothing should be seen as “bad” or “forbidden”. {Allergies aside} . 🧠I’ve seen it so many times that when someone sees a food as bad or thinks it is forbidden they will more than likely end up bingeing on it. We are programmed to want and crave forbidden things more. . 🌈Once you realise that you can have any food you want then your mind frees up. You know that feeling when you've given every last ounce of your effort to something? And you feel bloody brilliant because of it?!! . . Yes!! That!! The way I feel after teaching Piloxing - I know I gave it my all, I didn't feel full of energy before class tonight - It took me an hour and a half to do the journey to Belfast tonight to teach because of traffic and it had drained me, but I turned on my music and I just let my brain switch off and my body take over for a change. And it was such a great class! . . Imagine if we did that with everything we had to do? Just switched off the part of the brain telling us how hard it is, how tired we are, how we aren't as good as him or her or them, how it probably won't work, or we won't be successful and simply got into ACTION! And kept going til we got it done! Imagine what we could achieve! 💭💭 . . Whether it's losing weight, going for a run, finishing a project, going for a new job, studying for an exam, starting a new business, turning our dreams into reality - whatever it is - give it you absolute all! Because  the return will far outweigh the effort if you do! 💖
Eat well and live well.  Train for fun and enjoyment Eat for health and enjoyment Not for looks.  If you're doing what you love you'll see better results (mentally and physically). The more you enjoy what you're doing the better you'll feel about yourself, the better you'll eat, the better you'll look and the better mindset you'll be in.  So many trainers now focus on the results but not the process of how to get them. Let’s iron this out! - - The common phrase is ‘I want to lose weight’. That’s cool, but what you really mean is ‘I want to lose Body Fat’, here’s why! - - People don’t see the ‘Weight’ on you...they see Body Fat...around your waist, on your arms, legs, whatever and wherever it may be! - - The reason we need to start saying Body Fat, is because people are getting OVER OBSESSED with the scales. Scales weigh you, they don’t tell you how much body fat you’ve lost! - - Despite the fact that the scales MAY go down when you lose Body Fat, they also MAY NOT. - - Body Fat is made up of Body Fat. Your Weight is made up of Body Fat, Muscle, Glycogen, Water, Sodium and so much more! - - So when you step on the scales and have lost 1 pound. What a good skin care routine can do 🙌🙌🙌 I always struggled with my skin and was always very unconfident getting into photos or meeting people with no make up on 😭  A lot of products didn't suit my skin but now that I've found one that works for me I'm more confident!!!
