Today was a struggle. I did not workout this morning but I came home from work and got it done. 53 minutes with @autumncalabrese made me feel better and loosened my tight and sore muscles. As you can see I used all the weights from 8s to 15s plus the loops and sliders. I’m glad I got out of my own head and pushed to finish it.
Sweaty hot mess, not looking too cute but i pushed through this morning in the middle of it all Sophia woke up at 5:40am so i had to stop my workout, i changed her, fed her and went back to workout, prep my shake & meal, she finally went back to bed at 6:30am. Well we finally decided it was time to get a Christmas tree . So I left work earlier than usual grabbed a quick workout (Adalie helped) . Then off to meet Richard and Ellie at are usual tree 🌲 finding spot . Well apparently waiting longer than normal to avoid having to chase a toddler away from the tree for an extended period Kent people were sold out of Xmas trees 🤷🏻♀️ . Whole Foods has a handful left and we actually found a nice looking one for cheaper than our usual spot🤩 . Put it on top of the car for the first time and survived the ride home . Tree is soaking up some water and we are looking forward to decorating it (but maybe ornaments will be waist up only 😜) . What do y’all see when you look in the mirror? Why do ya feel? What do you say to yourself???? • Each of us has a set of shitty messages that play over and over in our minds. This internal dialogue, or personal commentary, frames our reactions to life and its circumstances. So when we see our own image, too often, the pattern of self-talk we’ve developed is negative so we think and say negative shit! • Not cool peeps. Soooo not cool!! • Throughout the years, these messages have played over and over in our minds, fueling our feelings of anger, fear, guilt, and hopelessness. So we need to change the message! • One of the ways to recognize, promote, and sustain optimism, hope, and joy is to intentionally fill our thoughts with positive self-talk. • The practice of positive self-talk is often the process that allows you to discover the obscured optimism, hope, and joy in any given situation. • So. Look at your reflection and tell it good things. Thank it for that beating heart, those oxygenated lungs, that huge smile, the strength to do a workout and think happy thoughts like maybe someone in your life that you bring sunshine to. Friday night i was reminded of how far I’ve come since starting this journey. My friend was telling his sister about how it was me who inspired him to start working out. He saw how i had transformed my body, but even more, he noticed how much happier i was outwardly. Sometimes it’s nice to hear an outside perspective like that. He’s right. I am so much happier. 👉I’ve found a purpose 👉I’m filled with endorphins 👉I’m surrounded by supportive friends 👉I’m held accountable to my goals by my coach group 👉My body is getting what it needs 👉My brain is being fed constantly with positivity. When i started coaching, i was not in shape. I was just starting my own journey. Once I’d gone through my first program and saw the changes it had made in me, i couldn’t help but want to share it with everyone i came in contact with. Coaching has been so incredibly rewarding. I’m looking for other people to join my coaching team. I was busy today! Super impressed with the first two, not so much the pumpkin! What’s on your menu for tomorrow! I’m definitely not the one in charge of the turkey, but I’ve got the veggies and desserts! I plan to have my superfood shake for breakfast after my workout though and start the day off right. #liift4 Week 5 Day 3: Shoulders - Liift Intervals Okay so my son walks into the living room and I'm literally asleep sitting up and he wakes me up to tell me to go to bed so I don't get ANOTHER crick in my neck (this isn't the 1st time this has happened this week) I wanted to do just that, but I knew I'd kick myself for not working out so #ipushedplay and I'm so glad that I did. It’s 8:50 am and I’ve been up since 5am and this is my first cup of coffee! I love that i can wait and enjoy it at work and not just down some in the morning. My preworkout definitely does the trick of getting me through my workout and commute with the kids. ❤️❤️ Plus isn’t my coffee mug amazing! My brother got it for me when we used to both teach science at the same school. His was a monkey mug. We shared a closet that we could walk through to get to each other’s rooms. I love that being a coach pushes me to be my best self! Part of that is always doing a workout program. I just switched things up, and even though i just finished a kick-ass program that made me so strong, i feel sore in different places! Best way to avoid plateau is to switch up your workouts! I did it! I finished the 8 week program again and this time i strictly followed the meal plan. Yes- i know I’ve posted my food pics! There is a cheat day allowed each week 😉. As i get fitter, the changes are not as obvious, but in the two rounds, i lost one inch from my waste, lost three pounds, and gained so much muscle. I was shocked by how much i upped my weights. But the absolute best part for me now is that it’s not, will i work out today? It’s what workout will i do today? With over 700 to chose from, i don’t get bored! Monday I’m going to do a program that I’ve done before, but they’ve added workouts and improved it! Anyone want to do it with me? Why wait until the new year? Week 4 Day 4 Legs HIIT Half way through #liift4 No weights today, body weight only and oh. em. gee. was it a workout! I still wasn't feeling at the top of my game so I waited till tonight to #digdeep I had just dropped my daughter off at the football game and a deer had jumped out in front of me on the way home ( no worries I didn't hit it) but that definitely raised my low BP 🤪 The burnout on today's workout is definitely gonna have me #soreaf tomorrow 😖
Week 4 Day 3: Shoulders Liift Intervals ❌ off the calendar but I was cutting it close. Another day where I was just feeling weak and just wanted to do NOTHING! Plus my BP was low all day long. But #ipushedplay anyway! For those of you that don't know what #liift4 is about lemme give you the low down. Every day is weight training and core and nearly every day there is high intensity cardio thrown into the mix. It's an awesome program but it's not easy and it's really not easy when you're feeling like 💩. I have learned to listen to my body and modify when necessary and take rest days when I HAVE to. Today wasn't a rest day kind of day it was a #digdeep kind of day!
Week 4 Day 2: Back/Biceps - #liift 50/50 You can see it all over my face and even in my eyes 👀. I'm not feeling the best today. I thought I'd feel better as the day went on, I was WRONG. But like I've said before #nomoreexcuses I just modified when necessary and lightened my weight when I felt my form wasn't good. And #ipushedplay anyway.
Sometimes our schedules don’t line up and we barely see each other, but this weekend we got the entire weekend together! Out to dinner and Netflix just us Friday, barbecue party with friends Saturday, then drag brunch with Tina and Elisha Sunday! It was definitely an amazing weekend! When things don’t line up as well, i look ahead and write in my schedule the times that will be “us time.” I make an attempt to put my phone away. Look at my awesome gym!! Commute time= zero! Which is huge in the Bay Area!! 😂😂 No, but seriously, i can now squeeze in a workout everyday, which actually gives me more energy to tackle everything else in my day. But the biggest benefit- no excuses. The gym is right there in my living room. There are over 700 workouts streamable on that tv. A workout for whatever mood I’m in and some meditations as well. I’ve been do my homeworkouts for almost two years and the changes in my mind and body have blown me away. My team’s next virtual bootcamp (fit before the feast) starts November 5!! Who’s in?! Yesterday was a rest day AND I was super depressed about some "life" stuff going on which has spilled over to today. I was going to use it as an excuse to just be lazy and not work out PLUS it's raining AGAIN! But ya know what, I didn't! I planted my new fig tree at our new house! ❤️❤️ I’m so excited for all of the new changes happening. Today I’m grateful for all that coaching has brought into my life. One of the biggest influences has been the addition of personal development. Top take alway: ⭐️ law of attraction- focus on what you want more of in your life. Before learning about that, i wouldn’t have even been able to fathom owning a house in the Bay Area. When i started to use the law of attraction in other areas of my life, i definitely became a believer. But it took alex pointing out to me that i wasn’t using it in that area, for me to realize. I made the shift. I put it on my vision board. And now it’s a reality! I’m not saying it’s magic, but our thoughts definitely influence life. Yesterday I had such an off day. I did wake up and get in my workout, but I just couldn’t find my grove! The day also didn’t end the greatest. By the time I got home all the girls were cranky, all three were crying for different reasons. I thought I was going to just lose it! 😐 I tried doing yoga last night while the girls finally settled down, that didn’t go well. They always think down dog and plank is a time to jump on me and play “under the bridge!” This morning I almost didn’t want to push play, between the two night time feedings and getting to bed late, I was exhausted! But then I thought about how much energy working out at 530am actually gives me for the rest of the day. I feel better about myself and it also enhances my performance at work and home! There is no magic pill. Even modified, my workout is challenging. The thing is that if nothing changes then NOTHING CHANGES! I’ve made the decision that I am WORTH the time. This is me at 5 am! 😂 I’m about to start my routine which energizes me for the day. I’m so happy that part of that routine is personal development. Right now, I’m listening to “the Energy Bus” while i get ready.
