Recently I have been feeling the pressures of my ego, the pressures that I’m not enough and I’m behind or people are over taking me and this all stems from me dipping my toes back into business but the super power of have that they don’t is I know how to fight these fears head on with Yoga, Climbing, Mediataion and stillness. If you feel unsettled remember that it’s fine to not always be ok everything changes everything has a time limit try and relax in knowing this. Breath in the pain and breath out that soft smile remember to practise because practise makes not perfect but it makes pretty close. Pincha Mayurasana is a bloody hard one for me, always has been. It's a challenging inversion, even if it doesn't look like one and teachers I saw doing it looked effortlessly gracious with their feet up. As I grow older, no asana is easy to master and the only way to develop my yoga practice is to hit the mat almost every day. Practising with at least four different teachers every week allows me to learn new things and tricks and fuels those challenges that I used to set for myself when I was a kid (or just younger) and preparing for whatever gymnastics or dance competition/show. Yoga is not just an incredible way to stay flexible or a precious escape from daily stress and life. It's a way to discover the possibilities within your body by controlling it, breathing in it, painfully holding asanas and finally surrendering to them and to the mat. *STRAIGHTEN OUT YOUR PINCHA* . . #angelasyogatutorials . . "Refine your practice until you attain freedom." - Miyamoto Musashi . . There may be some strange and rare creatures who can rock a perfectly straight Pincha Mayurasana, but for most of us mere mortals, Pincha is the hardest inversion to find straight in! 😅 . . Try this drill to find your line! . . 🐥Back yourself up against the wall with your butt touching and your heels touching. Place your hands underneath your shoulders. Mark the spot where your hands are with blocks so that you will know where to put your elbows. . . 🐥Here is the difficult part...place your elbows down in line with the blocks. You can now use the block between your hands. Frame it with your thumb and forefinger. Firm your hands into the mat. Do not allow your fingers to curl up or slide in. Keep your elbows in line with the sides of the block. Awkwardly shimmy up the wall. If you have a friend or family member that you can recruit to help you so that you have someone spotting you, even better! . . 🐥Spread and widen your shoulder blades across your upper back and lift them away from the floor. Firm your triceps towards your ears. Don't allow yourself to sink, lift tall out of the sides of your waist and lengthen all the way up to the tips of your toes. . . 🐥Drop your head and gaze towards the wall. Line your ears up with your biceps. Look up your body towards your toes and firm your belly in. . . 🐥Squeeze your inner thighs together. Reach your tailbone towards your heels. Do not let your butt stick out. Engage your pelvic floor muscles and attempt to bring one leg over your hips to stack. If that went well try adding the second leg. . . 🐥Press down, squeeze in and breathe! . . . 🐥To come down bring your feet back to the wall and slide down. . . Everyone has to make their own decisions. I still believe in that. You just have to be able to accept the consequences without complaining and magic happens when you do not give up, even though you want to! The universe always fall in love with a stubborn heart! . . .
. Moving on takes time. It’s not something that you can rush or fast-forward. It’s not something that you can just choose to skip. It’s a process that is both meticulous and methodical in nature.
