My favourite, without the guilt 🕊️ Having a really shitty evening. I haven't felt this low in a long time, so I'm snuggled on the sofa in my cosy throw having this, watching telly 💔 #hde #hungerdirectedeating #hungerdirectedeatingjourney #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeatingjourney #antidiet #antidietrevolution #ditchingthediet #healthy #healthyeating #happy #vegan #veganeats #whatveganseat #plantbased #bodypositivity #loveyourself
Made some changes to our website, go check it out!
Food freedom and body trust. Do you have them? As I sunk my teeth into the most delicious chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich, I thought to myself, “It’s so nice to be able to really enjoy this, even after a weekend of eating chocolate covered almonds, Oreos and pizza!” I wasn’t feeling guilty, or fearful of how my body might change or respond after my weekend eating choices! I knew my body would take care of me. I trusted it to handle the situation! This idea of food freedom and body trust can seem a little foreign, so I’m going to share a little metaphor I find helpful in explaining these concepts. Think of your body as an office. This office is full of employees who all have different jobs (similar to the different organ systems, hormones, muscles, and chemical process that keep your body going). Now think of your brain as the boss of this workplace. Your work force is completely competent and capable, but it’s been micro-managed for many years by a boss who is a bit of a control freak. You know the one who hovers over your shoulder like a helicopter and provides you with a daily to-do list complete with instructions for how to complete each task to spec! Why? Because they are afraid their employees will let them down. This kind of boss is like the food rules and diets you impose on yourself. Instead of hiring good people and trusting them to do their job (tell you when to eat and when to stop) you hover and micromanage them with rules about what, when and how much. Food freedom and body trust is about being more like the kind of boss everyone loves to work for. The one who provides gentle direction and leaves you to your own devices to figure out the best plan to get the job done. A nurturing boss who provides you with the support and resources to be the best you. One who knows when to intervene and when to give you the space and freedom you need to succeed. Years of working for a helicopter boss can result in some serious self-doubt.
🙅🏼‍♀️ #healthybody #dietitian #dietitianlife #nodiet #healthyhabits #foodie #gezondevoeding #easyhealthy #easyrecipes #nocaloriecounting #intuitiveeating #eatingwell #mindfuleating #portioncontrol #vegetables #gezondeten #gezondleven #gezonderecepten #gezondekinderen #dietistecelienrombouts #blogger #healthylife #fotd #foodie #muesli @jordansmuesli
the simple truth is that food and movement account for just 10% of health outcomes. health is largely determined by things like job security, environmental safety, genetics, and discrimination. I’ve said this many times. until we stop linking well-being with just food and movement and start considering critical factors such as rest and supportive relationships, I will continue saying this. until we stop blaming individuals for poor health and neglecting the health disparities experienced by disadvantaged populations, I will continue saying this. until we stop giving out health advice that only applies to the privileged and treating health like a barometer of worth, I will continue saying this. #alexfoodfreedom

MENTALITY AND PERSPECTIVE IS KEY to results Whether you are indeed in a diet or not, your mentality should ALWAYS be a priority. The words you use with yourself do have a major impact in how you feel and consequently act. How many times you promised yourself “not to have sugar for 30 days” “not to eat carbs for x days” “not to have chocolate..” etc.. every time you forbid yourself something, your mind plays you tricks so that the desire for it increases - this is psychology is called “Reactant” and yields the “ Forbidden fruit effect”. Try to change the words you use with yourself and recognize that it is about A CHOICE and NOT A DEMAND. “I choose to eat a nutrient dense meal because I know it will keep me satiated for longer” and not “I cannot have a pizza because it will make me gain weight”. Whenever you choose: I HAVE TO do X, I CANNOT do Y, you are tiring your willpower - which will one day burst. This is the power of the mind when it comes to anything - the more you do things for OTHERS, the more you feel that you are being obliged, the less willing you will be to make changes. Do not expect to change a habit you built over a long period of time in 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. Commit to something you truly as if you had a LIFETIME commitment - Persist, insist but never surrender. Being successful in life is often not being perfect, is about being consistent. It’s about CHOICES NOT obligations . . . #mindsetquotes #iifym #flexibledieting #dietaflexivel #motivationalquoteoftheday #fitnessportugal #healthypancakes #sagafitpt #macrocounting #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeatingjourney #eatclean #igftiness #fitnesslife #fitfam #fitspo #strengthfeed #bbggirls #fatlossplan #losingweight #dietingtips #hottogetstrong #nutritiontips #diettips #healthyrecipe #balancednotclean #juntossomosmaisfit #eusouwh#nourishnotpunish#healthynothungry
I’ve had such a great day today! I sorted out more of the closet, spent some time in the sunshine and meal prepped for the next 4 days 🥰❤️ absolutely love @thefuckitdiet so far! This whole anti diet movement is great. I’ve been such a mess for over 10 years. I’m finally starting to feel like myself again 💕

I ate lunch less than an hour ago, but I'm already feeling hungry. The solution? I got something to eat! Craziness, I know.😜 . Even if it's not the time you typically have a snack or if it's past a certain time at night, honoring your hunger is so much more important than going by what the clock says. Our bodies have their own built–in clock and, NEWS FLASH, it doesn't necessarily sync with our 24-hour clock that we've created!⏰ . Rather than limiting yourself to 3 meals a day or only a certain number of snacks, remember that each day can (and will) look different. Tomorrow I may not need a snack, while today I may need two. . Did you have less to eat a few days ago? Were you extra active over the weekend?🤔Even if today seems like a normal, typical day, our bodies may still be catching up from a day or two ago. . Often when I'm training for a marathon, I notice that my hunger spikes the day after a long run–not necessarily the day of my run. Call it weird, but I think it's fascinating! If we listen to our bodies' hunger signals, we'll feel less deprived and restricted, which will only help us get to our healthy weight. . @larabar saves the day yet again. What's your go–to mid–afternoon (or early afternoon, in my case🤷🏼‍♀️) snack? . . . #snack #snacktime #haes #karahoerrnutrition #madisonwisconsin #dietitian #rdn #registereddietitiannutritionist #registereddietitian #privatepractice #nutritioncoaching #mindfuleating #intuitiveeating #madison #wisconsin #afternoonsnack #intuitiveeater
Want a super quick, easy and filling breakfast idea? These #paleo pancakes did the trick for me this morning! They are naturally sweet, full of protein and are frickin’ delicious! 😋 Here’s what you need: 2 eggs, 2 ripe bananas, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I also added blueberries and hemp hearts to the batter and then topped these babies with almond butter and slivered almonds. YUM!! 😍🙌🏻
And I’m back in the UK 🇬🇧 Peruvian food is pretty diverse, but one thing it has in common is carbs - potatoes, rice and bread in particular so I was chuffed to find something in the freezer that I could pass on the carbs with @pinchofnom campfire stew. . . I’ve had the best time in Peru and while I’ve done a lot of walking and hiking I’ve also eaten all the carbs plus chocolate, beer and pisco so have no doubt gained a few pounds. I’m making a conscious effort not to weigh myself or punish myself, but listen to my body and what it wants and trust that it will get back to its set point, and get back on the running and weights hype with #nobsguide I can’t promise that will be easy, but I figure I should love my body enough to give it a try #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeatingjourney #nondiet #nondietapproach #selfacceptance #selflove #selflovejourney #healthandfitness #runnersofinstagram #recipes #lowcarb #diet #lowcalorie #iifym #girlswholift #strongnotskinny #postholiday #food #instafood

Life has no remote — you need to get up and change it yourself.⁣ ⁣ I spoke with a client today who I’ve been working with for less than a month. She has been absolutely KILLING THE GAME & is doing so well for herself, already.⁣ ⁣ Today, she told me that she doesn’t like to give herself distractions or excuses while she’s at the gym, or simply doing daily tasks in life.⁣ ⁣ She talked about how “being busy” isn’t an excuse for her to not meet her daily goals and to me, that is something that’s extremely admirable & a GREAT MINDSET & TRAIT to possess.⁣ ⁣ The truth is that you need to be stronger than your strongest excuse. You have to because otherwise you’ll never fully meet your potential.⁣ ⁣ So what’s holding YOU back?⁣ What excuses are you telling yourself?⁣ What can you do better?⁣ ⁣ #onlinecoaching⁣ #onlinecoach⁣ #fitness#nutrition⁣ #lifecoaching#lifecoach⁣ #personaltrainer⁣ #personaltraining⁣ #nutritionist⁣ #boxing#instagoals⁣ #fitfam#fitspo⁣ #workout#goalminded⁣ #crossfit#bodybuilding⁣ #girlswholift#milso⁣ #fitnessmotivation⁣ #motivation⁣ #noexcuses⁣ #intuitiveeating⁣ #foodfreedom#bodypeace⁣ #influencer#sweatingforthewedding⁣ #goaldigger#socal⁣ #sanclemente ⁣
Spot the difference!!!! 🤣🤣 . Running is my favorite form of “me time”, it’s my form of moving meditation. 🥰But, there was a time when it was NOT enjoyable, but I still did it…compulsively. 😬 For a solid 7 years running more like punishment for what I ate than it was a joyful form of exercise. I was using exercise as a way to “earn” my food. 🏃🏼‍♀️Over the years I’ve improved my relationship with exercise by changing my mindset and focusing on respecting what my body is able to do- 🙅‍♀️not it’s size or what it looks like. By doing the work to improve this relationship I have found the JOY in running again! 😍Now, I help my clients change their mindset and improve body image so that they too can find the joy in exercises they love too- NOT use it to “earn” their food!!🙌🏻 . Today on the blog I’m sharing 3 running tips that allowed me to recently run a 15.5 mile race- and LOVE every second of it! ❤️I’ve ran this race 3x in my life, and I can honestly say that this time was the only time I actually enjoy it. It was utter bliss! . http://mittendietitian.com/3-running-tips-that-helped-me-run-15-5-miles-and-love-it/ . 👆Head to the blog to see what my 3 tips are and WHY I recommend them! Not only was this the most enjoyable race I’ve run, it was a personal best!!👏
- Beige dinners are kinda my thing 💁🏼‍♀️ - Choona with veganaise, sweetcorn, red onion, black pepper, salt and malt vinegar (don't knock it til you try it), new potatoes, flora buttery and sains 'cheddar'. - Would have been amazing with salad too but I gave that to D to take to work this morning and didn't think to replace it when I was in tesco earlier, because fundamentally that's the kind of person I am.
As a confident eater you can learn to manage your health in a flexible and effective way! Using a weight-neutral, non-diet approach you can address whatever your health concerns are with clarity and peace instead of stress and rigidity. Having a specific health concern does not make dieting safe or effective for you, but rather means you can find ways to nourish yourself that are safe and work for YOU.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #eatconfidentco #confidenteater #foodpeace #intuitiveeating #haes #healthylife #foodfreedom #bodypositivity #allfoodsfit #healthcoach #iedietitian #realfood #healthateverysize
Out of your element doesn’t have to = off the rails. 🚂🍟🍕🍦🍹🍰🍫🍩🍪⁣ ⁣ Summer is around the corner, along with all the camping trips, vacations, weddings, patio drinks & BBQ's that come with it.⁣ ⁣ So how do you enjoy everything summer has to offer without destroying all your progress?⁣ 👇👇👇⁣ ⁣ ▪️Be prepared. ⁣ ⁣ → No, you don't need to bring pre-prepped, pre-weighed Tupperware containers with you everywhere you go - but a little preparation goes a long way. Bring along healthier snacks & calorie-friendly hot dogs on your camping trip; Eat lighter on the days you know you'll be eating a large meal; Have a protein bar in your purse in case there aren't any healthy options available; etc.⁣ ⁣ ▪️Remember that it's not all about the food (/drinks). ⁣ ⁣ → Yes, food & drinks are a part of every single social culture... But they aren't everything! At the end of the day, you're going to remember the conversations and experiences you had, not whether you ate a salad instead of a burger or a vodka water instead of a margerita. ⁣ ⁣ ▪️Pick your battles.⁣ ⁣ → One meal or day of overeating won't derail your progress long-term, but if it's happening every other day or every single weekend, it will. Ask yourself if that slice of cake or sugary cocktail is ACTUALLY going to add joy to your experience, or if you could enjoy it just as much with a lower-calorie alternative (& if the answer is yes, that's totally fine! just don't make it the default EVERY single time).⁣ ⁣ ❓What do you struggle with most food & drink-related around this time of year? Comment below & I'd love to help where I can! 🤗⁣
Do you still remember the day when you found THE dress? Maybe you cried, maybe you laughed, but you felt immediately, yours, your wedding dress❤️ This photo is part of a business reportage I made for @mrs_to_be_brautmoden , a beautiful wedding boutique in Leipzig ❤️
"We divide the world⠀ Into things that cause cancer,⠀ into things that cure cancer,⠀ and to things that don't cause cancer,⠀ but there's a chance that,⠀ they'll cause cancer, in the future"...⠀ ⠀ I feel I've peaked guys: I've managed to incorporate Tim Minchin lyrics into a post about fitness and food (the song is called The Fence and is a fun little comedy gamble if you're keen)⠀ ⠀ Look:⠀ ⠀ I'm keen for the fitness industry to take a big old step away from diet culture (aka the patriarchy) because I'm a loud and proud feminist. ⠀ ⠀ I'm keen for there to be less emphasis on appearance within the fitness/ health community. . . I want more representation of all body sizes and backgrounds on the biggest brand campaigns, and I want it across the board. ⠀ ⠀ I'm keen for people to have better relationships with food whatever that looks like for them. ⠀ HOWEVER,⠀ ⠀ I’m also not adverse to someone wanting to change their body composition for a holiday because they enjoy the process of having a physical goal and it doesn’t effect their body image to do so. . . I’m not against calorie tracking for everyone- I think it can be a useful tool that can educate people more about nutrition. Being an “intuitive eater” ultimately does come from a place of privilege. It requires an education of what a healthy, balanced diet consists of; calorie tracking or macro counting COULD be a method to get someone there. . . As a human being I am always going to come with a set of biases. . . As a trainer it’s so important to be aware of my own bias and adjust accordingly depending on my client’s goal and their why. . . This is why I’m standing up for sitting on the fence: It feels a lot safer to pick a side of “intuitive eating is the only way” or “you have to track your food”. If we pick a side we get to feel “right” and everyone else is “wrong”, this feels nice. The world doesn’t work this way. Different approaches
Body love is great. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And it's exciting and promising. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But it's really hard to love your body in a culture that tells us we are wrong, we are flawed, and that we need to change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's hard to love a culturally unacceptable body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is why individual is important and healing, but to really change our world and make the planet safe for all bodies, we must radically change the culture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We need a culture without a hierarchy of good bodies, ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ good skin, good hair. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The reasons we have these are so, so, so flawed and so, so, so wrong. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We can't just carve out a place for ourselves, ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ we need to make the need to carve that place irrelevant.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Radically changing the culture is hard. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not everyone has the energy or spoons to do it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But those of us that do, including the "thin allies", need to push and push and push for change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Radical social justice has to be part of this work, at least for me. I need a culture that doesn't have a time limit, or size limit, or darkness limit on bodies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I'm going to keep pushing for that change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Are you in? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #haes #healthateverysize #intuitiveeating #fatacceptance #fatactivism #bodyliberation #intuitiveeatingrd #fatpositiverd #edrd #haesrd #pnwdietitian #fatdietitian #plussizerd #prospernutrition #bellinghamrd #losehatenotweight #riotsnotdiets #socialjustice #radicalselflove #nourishnotpunish #antidiet #nondiet #edrecovery #dietculture
EAT FOR COLOR 🍓🥦🍑🍉🍋🥑⁣⁣⁣ ✨Did you guys know the colors of the food we eat offer us unique health benefits? Well, the more vibrant the color, the greater the density of phytonutrients. Phytonutrients are chemicals found in plants that decrease cellular inflammation, increase the body’s ability to clear harmful toxins, and trigger fat loss! ⁣⁣⁣ 💡So what does this mean?? ⁣⁣⁣ 🍅Red plants - decrease wrinkles & hyperpigmentation, strengthen bones⁣⁣⁣ 🍋Yellow plants - decrease stress, enhance eye sight⁣⁣⁣ 🍑Orange plants - boost immune system, clear skin, improve mental clarity⁣⁣⁣ 🥦Green plants - regulate estrogen and insulin levels ⁣⁣⁣ 🍆Purple plants - increase brain power and protection ⁣⁣⁣ 💡 To make it more simple, be mindful throughout the day about the colors you’re eating! Make it a habit to try and eat as many colors as you can in each meal. This will boost the nutrient density of your meals & leave you feeling more satisfied 😇 ⁣⁣ (📸: @healthmagazine) #sharingthetaste #healthyeating #healthmatters #eatforcolor #foodstagram #foodiesofinstagram #healthtips #mindfuleating #intuitiveeating #healthfacts #superfoods

Some days you put on a smile and walk out into the world because that’s all you know how to do in the moment. Today is one of those days. It’s a day where my brain doesn’t want to cooperate and my body isn’t sure how to function. I woke up to a day of loud ED thoughts and seizures. And all I can do is remind myself that these days happen and these days pass. I can choose to engage in ED behaviors or I can choose to eat because that’s the next right choice that will push me further in recovery. So, I’m trying to choose recovery even though it’s hard. I can choose to push myself too hard and curse my body for the seizures today or I can give myself a break and take care of my body the best I can right now. These choices aren’t always easy, but I always have the choice. It’s hard and I can do it. Having an ED and chronic illness isn’t fun, but it’s my life and I can choose to dwell on it or I can make the best out of the hard days and cherish the good days. It’s not the perfect life, but it’s my life.

I work in a gym, so the topic of dieting and weight loss comes up often (almost daily). I'll be honest, I still haven't found a graceful way to respond during these conversations. My first reaction is to want to share all the things - "Your weight doesn't determine your health," "You're not addicted to food, you're obsessed with food because you restrict it," "Keto is not a lifestyle, it's a diet," "Over 90 percent of people who diet gain back the weight they lost or more," "Moderation is still rooted in diet mentality." I get frustrated and sad that so many people are spending such an abundance of time and energy trying to change their bodies. Then I think back to my own journey with dieting and the years I spent pursuing weight loss, and I have more compassion for them. Diet culture brainwashes us to believe that thinness holds the most value. So we spend all of our time and energy pursuing thinness. But what if we freed up that time and energy, and we spent it on other things? If you were no longer spending hours a week thinking about food, prepping food to fit your diet's specifications, doing workouts you hate or obsessing about the way your body looks, what would you spend your time doing? #sweetsuccess #nourish #intuitiveeating #wellness #antidiet #bodypositive #iinhealthcoach #healthcoach #nlcertified #livinganutritiouslife #empowered #selfcare #radicalbodylove #losehatenotweight #nondietapproach #bodykindness #bodyrespect #ditchthediet
When I was younger I went through a time period of disliking pancakes. Why? I have no idea. I think as you age your taste buds change. I used to despise mushrooms and tomatoes but recently I have been incorporating them into my diet at least once a week. I believe it’s totally natural to go through phases of like and dislike for certain foods. It might be seasonally related or just day to day. It’s important to listen to what your body wants. I’ve been trying to do this rather than falling into habits. Including a little treat a day, food’s that you enjoy with no restriction, will stop you from going on that binge we all worry about, or cravings that most have! If you fancy a chocolate bar a day, just have one! If you are on point with you’re calories throughout your the day, you have met you’re protein goals (carbs and fats don’t impact you’re fatloss goals, but still consume them as they won’t effect you’re progress no matter what time of day you eat them etc) . I have breakfast, I have 2 snacks a day, a mealprep, a mainmeal and a pudding! All within my calories, all goals are met and I eat smart! Weekend will differ! 😂 . Many of you have asked what I am doing in Portland this week. I’m attending a Be Nourished training to learn about Body Trust! It’s about liberation from the toxic lies we are all taught about bodies, fatness, and “health”! I support fat liberation and the dismantling of diet culture, which has its roots in colonialism, racism, classism, and ableism! I’m unlearning and learning so much. Here’s to reclaiming intuitive eating and body sovereignty! It’s hard work, y’all, but somebody’s got to do it, and by somebody I mean all of us! I will share tidbits of what I’m learning. 💕 #bonbonjovi #bonbongriffon #healthateverysize #bodysovereignty #intuitiveeating #bodytrust #benourished
Hidden sources of sugar🍬 “I don’t eat that much but I cant lose weight.” Are you drinking your sugar?💁🏼‍♀️ This passion tea gets 6 pumps of liquid cane sugar, rounding out to about 16g of sugar! Always ask for teas with NO liquid cane sugar. ✨It’s All In the Process✨ • • • We all want to be part of the outcome, particularly when the outcome is a good or successful one. So many of us find glory in the outcomes. However, it’s in the PROCESS where we find and prove our strength and dedication. Where’s the glory in the outcome if you aren’t part of the process? • • • I’d rather be part of the process in which the outcome wasn’t necessarily desirable than be part of a successful outcome in which I wasn’t involved in the process. Being able to PROVE to not only others, but more importantly, yourself, is one of the best feelings in my opinion. If you want the true glory of a successful outcome, you have to WORK for it and be part of the process💪🏼 • • • What’s something that you are working towards? Are you giving it your all?
Longevity = A healthy relationship with food.🥭🍇🥦🍔🥗🍰🥩 (See what I did there, 80-20😉) . I know many people—females in particular— who have a very unhealthy relationship with food. It’s extremely important to communicate with your coach, trainer and/or nutritionist if you have fear, shame or guilt after eating something “bad” (which by the way, no single food is bad unless you’re consuming too much of it). Your coaches are your guides and we’re here to HELP you build a healthy relationship with food!🤗 . . SIDE NOTE: Will be posting a HIIT circuit tomorrow so stay tuned🔥 . . . . It's days like this that I'm so thankful for my little life in the country ☀️🐶🏡🌍🌲
This is where I’ll be all day. • I woke up this morning with all these plans to make a drawing video for you guys but, I just kept finding myself beating my head against the wall. • I just saw @simplysadiejane ask in her stories “what is your intention today?” And it made me think. What IS my intention today?A voice in my head practically begged, “TO RELAX.” • I realized I’ve been going going going nonstop for over a week now. So, I’m listening to my body and kicking up my heels for the day. • Here’s to listening to your body in every way and being patient with yourself. I already feel better.❤️
Today I want to share a piece of my journey and why this account is necessary (for me). In 2015 I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, POTS, and Chronic Daily Headache. These diagnosis came after many years of suffering and over two years unable to work. Like many people i associated thinness with health. I had never been taught otherwise nor did I have any role models to the contrary at the time. When I began my “health journey” I thought to myself “what’s the worst that can happen?” Over a relatively short period of time I lost over 75lbs. My hair started falling out by the fist full and I lost my menstrual cycle. I didn’t know it at the time but I developed orthorexia, an exercise addiction, and eventually battled with BED and bulimia. I’m telling you this because it’s important you know I’m not just posting photos of food for the hell of it. I’m posting them because for the first time since 3rd grade I don’t hate my body. I don’t constantly seek to change it. I eat what I want when I want to. And I don’t feel the need to justify my food or exercise choices to anyone. I’m finally free to create in the kitchen without feeling afraid to eat it OR feel out of control and binge. As someone who has battled with both chronic illnesses and eating disorders I feel I have a unique view on nutrition, health, and body image. I hope you will follow along with me here and on my other pursuits. Take good care. . . . . . . #chronicillnesslife #invisibleillnesswarrior #cfsme #potssyndrome #migraine #nourishnotpunish #eatingdisorderrecovery #bingeeatingdisorderrecovery #orthorexiarecovery #exerciseaddictionrecovery #fuckdietculture #antidiet #intuitiveeating #haes #bodyneutrality #gainingweightiscool #foodisnottheenemy #effyourbeautystandards #mystory #personal #healthjourney #edjourney

Shrimp ramen noodles!! 🍜 . Homemade spicy shrimp broth, noodles, ginger, garlic, scallions, shiitake mushrooms, shrimpies, a soft-boiled egg, seaweed & cilantro 🍲 . When I was a freshman in college, I decided that I wasn’t going to eat ramen for 4 years because I didn’t want to be a stereotypical college kid who ate crappy food. . It was a silly little promise I made to myself, but I kept it all this time. In college I mostly stayed away from processed food and prepared healthy meals on a budget. I rarely ate out and continued to grow into my happy healthy self! 👸🏾🌸🌱 . It’s totally possible to eat well and stay healthy in school. Also, Aldi is still my favorite grocery store and I got most of the ingredients there! Finally my craving has been satisfied ✔️
I don’t do diets and I don’t recommend diets. I did them all many years ago trying to fix my leaky gut problems. But my leaky gut was caused by other things like lifestyle, stress and unresolved emotional pain. . . During my initial #ayurvedic balancing phase I was on a stricter diet but that was mainly because I had food allergies (gluten and dairy). But after that it became about following Ayurvedic principles, lifestyle and adding healing spices and herbs in my diet. Now I mainly eat intuitively. I have no food allergies and I digest food properly which allows for more variety and freedom in my diet. . . In #ayurveda we don’t recommend depriving yourself of foods you actually enjoy. Food is meant to be enjoyed. Moderation is key. And when you become more aligned with your true nature, you naturally gravitate to things that create good health. So the occasional indulgence is ok. . . Food is often not the root of your low energy, low moods and chronic gut issues. The root issue is always deeper and permanently cutting out food groups is just a band aid solution. You have to dig deeper and be willing to adopt a new, empowering lifestyle. . . And yes that is ice in my glass😂 My Ayurveda friends I’m sure noticed right away 😂 . . #ayurveda #ayurvedalife #ayurvedicmedicine #highvibes #lifestylemedicine #leakygut #autoimmunedisease #adrenalfatigue #higherconsciousness #intuitiveeating #foodlover #ilovefood #glutenfree

D I N N E R ⭐. • Dinner this evening was Aldi chilli & lime chicken skewers • peri peri rice • lettuce. • I ate every last bit - was super yummy but I didn't overeat 😊. • After reading more of 'the book' I've decided we should sit at the table for dinner more, so we did that tonight. You don't realise how much you shovel in your mouth when you're not paying attention to your plate but you're paying attention to the TV 📺. • I actually thought it was nice, we spoke more and it was nice being face to face, which only really happens now if we go out to eat for a date night. • ••••••••••••••••••• #weightlossjourney #weightlosssuccess #healthyeating #healthyliving #healthychoices #journeytohappiness #healthandhappiness #fooddiary #hde #hungerdirectedeating #ditchingthediet #foodie #fooddiary #foodblogger #foodblog #ditchingthediet #intuitiveeating
DYNAMIC WARM-UP 🔆 do this before working out. Or after working out. Or before starting your day. Or all 3! It’s gonna be good to get your body in the range of motion you want WITHOUT adding weight (holding a foam roller here). Also, don’t mind my “Pooh Bear” look, wearing a crop top with my belly hanging out in all its glory lol 🐻😆 1) I’m comfortable with my body so say hello to my rolls 👋🏼 and 2) it helps me remember to keep my abs engaged throughout the movement. Like I said, I’m ok with my belly exposed, but seeing it in the mirror reminds me to keep my abs taut and activated #visualfeedback 👀 this will feel GREAT on the back also, keeping it engaged to prevent *tipping forward* (if you’re sitting at a desk all day working on papers or a computer in front of you, you may tend to relax your upper and mid back from firing for optimal posture). Hope this helps! #trythisonforsize
A message from the mama behind the meals: Hi, there! I’m Erica, the founder and CEO of Twenty Five Eight. My company didn’t start as a business idea, but instead was the solution to what I needed. Becoming pregnant was the greatest gift, but also the greatest challenge that I ever experienced -- physically, mentally, and emotionally. For the first four months, I was so sick that I couldn’t tolerate the smell of a heated pan on the stove. I knew that I needed nourishing foods to nurture and grow the miracle inside of me, but no current meal companies or restaurants met my almost impossible standards. I viewed “eating for two” with regards to quality, not quantity. I only wanted the best for myself and my son. . Twenty-Five Eight is the gift I can now offer all mamas throughout motherhood: before, during, and long after baby. The meals we make are symbolic for the support, love, and understanding we so desperately need while navigating on this incredible journey and it is my hope to be a part of yours.
Our Turmeric Ginger Overnight Oats are the perfect breakfast for transitioning into warmer weather. Our spices stimulate digestion and warm you from the inside out, while our housemade cashew yogurt is creamy and cooling. All of our grains, nuts and seeds go through a double soaking process to make the nutrients more bio available for your body and to assimilate in the digestive process. While you could take an anti-inflammatory tablet, even a “natural“ curcumin pill, our philosophy is to utilize food as medicine. Turmeric and ginger have been used for centuries in eastern medicine to relieve inflammation and fight disease. To get the real golden glow from within, skip the supplement and go straight to the source.
