And still I will rise. The strength of the human is amazing. We have the ability to withstand. To overcome. To bounce back. And to rise above. The last couple of days have been a blur. On Sunday night someone threw a rock threw my bedroom window. It sounded like a gun went off. Glass shattered everywhere. A double pane window now in a million pieces covering me as I lay on my bed heading to sleep. I was tightly covered and fully underneath my cover because I was cold. Like a shield I was protected. God covered me and I give Him all the praise. I’m excited to see the beautiful blessings that’s heading straight for me. Because indeed this was an indication that I have something very special in store. I was born an overcomer. My attack started when I was 3. But I promise today I have the victory. My message brings hope to the hopeless. My life saves lives. And I have the gift of inspiration. Which I share with all I see. And this I know, no weapon formed against me will prosper. God has a covering over me!
Life gives you ONE chance. This is a lie we are fed all our lives! From movies, to serials, to wise old people around us. This is what is considered 'conventional wisdom’. . Today, we are going to re-write this piece of conventional wisdom. Because top performers - people who live life at their own terms, people who create products that change the world, people who break world records, people who make breakthrough discoveries and inventions, people who change lives of other people on a massive scale, people who are playing the game in the top 1% - are able to do so because they have figured out that conventional wisdom is for the masses, and produce results that are average. . Top performers see life differently. They know that success is nothing but a sum of number of skills they have acquired and relationships they have developed until that point. . Your success in life depends on the number of skills you acquire and relationships you develop through each experience. . So every time you take a "chance" at something, you come out increasing your skills and relationships. That chance might not result in success, but it will eventually lead to second chance being more successful. Or the tenth one. Or the hundredth one. And you have unlimited chances. . Life gives you UNLIMITED chances 💯

There are two things I want to share with you today: . First- ALWAYS listen to you heart. For our WIB Luncheon today we heard from Season 2 American Idol contestant Carmen Rasmussen (Herbert now!) . She reminded us all that you will never regret making the decision that is right for you- staying true to yourself. . The truth is- I wouldn’t have been sitting there listening to her if I hadn’t done just that. . You see- at the beginning of this year I was nominated to be on the Executive Board for our local Chamber’s Women in Business. I was surprised, excited and proud of my nomination. . My boss felt differently. He told me that I didn’t have time for something like that. (For the record I have an amazing boss- he takes great care of all of his employees and I am blessed to have an amazing job with the flexibility I need to be a mom... And I am notorious for having a thousand too many things on my plate at any given time!) . I left his office feeling very defeated. So I went home and talked it over with my husband (where I honestly figured I would hear again that I was too busy...) It was exactly the opposite. He told me that he was proud of my nomination too and that it was an opportunity that I should take if I felt that strongly about it. . So I did. . I accepted my nomination. . And this year has been so incredibly uplifting and I have had so many opportunities for growth- that I wouldn’t have had if I hadn’t followed what I knew what right for me. . Trust your heart. It’s leading you in the right direction. . Second- if you are a woman in business, in any way, you need to find the Women in Business chapter at your local Chamber of Commerce. . It will improve your life- professionally and personally. You will gain some amazing relationships. You will grow more than you can even imagine. And you will find a place of support and love. . I am so blessed to be a part of the @owcwib Executive Board. ❤️ . #goalgetter#goalsetter#wib#owcwib
We work so hard for 3 reasons. 1. family 2. freedom 3. charitable contributions We aren't guaranteed that anything in our lives is easy. Yet here we are, surviving 100% of the hardest days that came before today. The only easy day was yesterday. When you're battling your inner demons, or the client that won't call you back, or the indecisive buyer, remember WHY you're in it. What's your reason for working so hard? Tell me below - I'd love to learn this about you.
Isn’t it crazy that we can look so confident, put together and poised in a picture... while life is really crumbling behind the scenes? THAT was my life for years. I was too scared to share the real stuff, too chicken to expose my insecurities and too proud to admit I was struggling. How did I make a shift? Well, I got tired. I became isolated. I felt empty. . Maybe you’ve experienced some of the same things... or maybe you’ve totally mastered the idea of vulnerability and authenticity. I know some people who have. I’m not there yet, so I share this with you. If you aren’t ready to share with a large community of people, please share with the people closest to you. I made the mistake of staying quiet so my problems festered and bubbled up under the surface. Things became unbearable because I was too prideful to talk, and too busy posting edited pictures to mask my reality. If you’re right there where I was, it’s not something to be ashamed of. It’s something to recognize, work on or seek help for. And remember... progress, not perfection.
Perseverance is the key! It's something I tell others in my talks, but even though I'm completely and utterly determined, it's something I sometimes forget to remind myself. Getting into schools as a speaker isn't easy, but I've been relentless. Big charities and organisations have more resources, but undeterred I keep knocking on their doors, passionate to share my experiences, adamant in helping young people with mental health illness and certain about being a pioneer for compassion and kindness. Glowing recommendations have helped from the few schools who have booked me, but finally many doors are opening. It starts next week, but after the summer holidays, I'm going to be pretty busy. Thrilled to bits! XX Picture taken at @brinsley_animal_rescue
#angeles#espiritualidad#bienestar#hoponopono#bogota#medellin#yoga#yogabota#inspirationalspeaker#leydelaatraccion#maracay#caracas
