Hellooooo, Summer Squash!☀️ Summer squashes and zucchini have very yin, cooling and refreshing properties... they are nature’s gift to us in the hottest months of the year.💦 —Lightly steamed and with skin still on, squash can be used as a diuretic (to help leg and ankle edema or to promote urination). —Topically, fresh, raw squash juice can relieve burns and local inflammation. —Most importantly, squash can help you overcome “Summer Heat” What IS “Summer Heat”🥵? Just like it sounds, Summer Heat results from overexposure to extreme temperatures. Symptoms include profuse sweating, fever, weakness, thirst, even difficulty breathing. Body fluids and qi have been damaged at these high temperatures and rehydration and rest are crucial for recovery. Other foods that beat Summer Heat include cucumber, melon (especially watermelon), pineapple, lemon, apple... think anything with a high water content that will also replenish the sugars and electrolytes you’ve lost when sweating! Stay cool out there, friends.💧What’s YOUR favorite way to use squash?

NEW PRODUCT RELEASE TOMORROW 😃🍹Peach Mango Seasonal Cleanse! A new limited edition flavor just in time for summer. 🍑 ▫️ When the word cleanse comes to mind, lets face it....most think 💩. I can assure you that is not the case with our cleanse. Our cleanse is a cellular cleanse versus a gastrointestinal cleanse. What does cellular cleanse mean exactly? Our body is composed of cells & these cells can become tainted with toxins. Cellular cleansing targets cells throughout the body that need replenishing. Every time you eat, your body digests the foods you consume, then absorbs & transports nutrients to all of your body’s cells through the bloodstream. Your cells either use the nutrients right away or store them for later. When you consume more food than your body needs at any one time, it can lead to a backup of excess nutrients for your metabolism to manage. If you never give your body a break from all day eating, it can lead to problems with your metabolism & weight gain. When the flow of nutrients becomes slowed, it allows the body to enter its natural process of autophagy, which is the break down & disposal of old & worn out cells. Toxins 🦠 make you fat and sluggish. Fatty body tissue encapsulates toxins to protect the body from harm. Individuals who have a toxin ridden body, will always struggle with weight. Remove the toxins & you will loose the weight & keep the weight off. Not only do toxins cause weight gain but they cause inflammation which leads to numerous other problems throughout the body. Latest scientific findings highly support intermittent fasting with the support of certain herbs & vitamins. I have experienced the benefits of cellular cleansing & this is exactly what I will be doing to fit into that wedding dress come September. 👰🏼 #cellularcleanse#detox#toxins#health#wellness#nutrition#weightloss#inflammation

Reposted from @drmarkhyman - Inflammaging refers to the chronic, low-grade inflammation that characterizes aging.⠀ ⠀ You can reduce inflammation by eating real whole foods, exercising, sleeping well, and including anti-inflammatory foods into your diet such as turmeric, ginger, rosemary, capsaicin, green tea, and bone broth.⠀ ⠀ The aging process itself is related to inflammation. ⠀ ⠀ Any kind of systemic inflammation is going to affect every system in the body. It may manifest more in one particular anatomical area, but it affects the entire body.⠀ ⠀ Inflammation is tied in with arthritis and memory loss. Diabetes, high insulin levels, high glucose levels, disruption of the gut microbiome are all part of the inflammatory process. ⠀ ⠀ #inflammaging#inflammation#aging#healthyaging#drmarkhyman - #regrann

Did you know Acne sufferers have higher levels of all over the body inflammation than people with healthy skin?? Gut issues have been found to be a major factor in systemic inflammation associated with acne, rosacea, psoriasis and excema. The Gut produces two types of bacteria in our digestive system, good (probiotics) and bad. When things are in balance both are essential in digestion and manufacturing vitamins for us to use. If the bad ones take over, due to too much stress, bad diet or excessive antibiotic usage, the harmful bacteria can interfere with digestion and produce toxins, a condition known as gut dysbiosis or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). The harmful bacteria produce corrosive substances that attack the gut wall creating tiny cracks allowing bad stuff in (toxins, bacteria, virus, fungi and incompletely digested food). This is known as leaky gut syndrome or intestinal permeability. Excessive antibiotic usage often kill both the good and the bad bacteria, and long-term antibiotic usage can wipe out a significant portion of the gut bacteria, opening the door for the harmful bacteria to take over. This is why it’s not a good idea to treat acne with oral antibiotics long-term. Too much stress, Sleep deprivation, Low stomach acid, Eating processed foods, Lack of plant fiber and other pre-biotic foods are also causes for leaky gut syndrome. So as an acne suffer this may not be the true cause for your acne but it’s worth exploring and studies have shown if you treat your gut it usually helps the skin.

Studying functional immunology from Cogence, which today is answering the question: how do nutrients like curcumin and resveratrol and botanicals like Angelica sinensis help calm inflammatory and auto-immune cycles in the body? Some lessons from today: . - phytohemagluttinen from beans like red kidney beans can trigger NFkb (an inflammatory cytokine) activation in the body potentially triggering or worsening an autoimmune condition. - NFkb is activated by oxidative stress, lipopolysaccharide (from pathogenic gut bacteria), and infections - Curcumin and reservatrol (found in red wine) can inhibit NFkb and therefore inhibit inflammation - Angelica sinensis, a female herb and adaptogen, promotes the proliferation of stem cells, and increases white blood cells and platelets. It can also enhance Th17, which is an arm of the adaptive immune system. - Fasting can help clear up cellular debris and “rest” the immune system, a powerful tool in lowering inflammation and managing autoimmunity. . #functionalmedicine#autoimmunity#functionalimmunology#inflammation#mentalhealth#psychoneuroimmunology#immunesystem

Hemp oil extracts can support the balance of the ECS. The phytocannabinoids from hemp plant (Cannabis Sativa) extracts can prevent the breakdown of the body's own endocannabinoids, making them bio-available longer. Over 80 different phytocannabinoids have been identified, with cannabidiol, or “CBD,” being the best known. (see @metgenicsinstitute #linkinbio for more details) CBD was initially thought not to be psychoactive, but a better way to think about it is that CBD is not psychoactive like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)—that is, CBD can modulate the CB1 receptor only when THC or another cannabinoid compound is active at the binding site. Put another way, CBD does not make you “high.” #cbd is one of the many cannabinoids identified in hemp, accounting for about 40% of the plant's extracts. CBD has a remarkable safety profile. In multiple randomized trials, there’s a < 10% rate of adverse events. That’s a better safety profile than alcohol. Research into the fascinating world of CBD, THC, and the entire endocannabinoid family of molecules and receptors is challenging. The network is complex and reminds me a ton of the hormonal system—there are no simple up/down, on/off switches. Instead, there are many feedback loops, crosstalk, synergies, “entourage” effects, nuances, receptor issues. Not that easy to wrap your head around it all especially with simple questions like what’s the best dose for X, e.g., anxiety or PMS or insomnia or stress resilience or inflammation. In BRAIN BODY DIET I recommend CBD for anxiety, ideally in tincture form extracted with carbon dioxide (instead of solvents) and only organic, so that you avoid toxic chemicals, including pesticides and herbicides, used especially when marijuana is grown indoors. The content of edible marijuana products and the timing of the drug’s effect can vary so widely that I don’t recommend edibles for anxiety—stick to oral use, such as a tincture that you can carefully dose for your
Turmeric, a plant related to ginger us grown throughout India, other parts of Asia, and Central America. Turmeric is a spice that comes from the turmeric plant and it is commonly used in Asian food, and the main spice in curry. But, the root of the turmeric is also widely to make medicine. Turmeric's underground stems (rhizomes) are dried and made into capsules, tablets, teas, or extracts. Today, turmeric is used as a dietary supplement for inflammation; arthritis, stomach, skin, liver, and gallbladder problems; cancer; and other conditions. Been saving this @theawkwardyeti comic for this trip because I knew no matter how hard I tried to eat the right things and wear my mask when necessary, that I'd still end up with some payback. Honestly, I ended up even worse than anticipated and we had to come home a bit early, both for me and my kids, who were pretty miserable without us. I got through MOVING homes without this much trouble. Maybe it was the new environment, or the high pollen counts or just the combination of everything. I hope it doesn't take too long to recover. I want to have some fun with Tom while he's here. Today is going to have to be a day in bed. Even just shifting positions depletes what little energy I have. Imagine what would have happened if I wasn't taking good care of myself the rest of the time and if I wasn't on so many mediators. I can hack it, you know I can, just need lots of rest and to keep up with all my meds. I hope your week is starting out better than mine. #fatigue#hives#nausea#inflammation#migraine#bodyaches#visionloss#brainfog#sensoryoverload#ehlersdanlossyndrome#mcas#pots#gastroparesis#suspectedautistic

DID YOU KNOW? The ultra-cold temperatures in whole-body cryotherapy can cause physiological hormonal responses. This includes the release of adrenaline, noradrenaline, and endorphins. This can have a positive effect on those experiencing mood disorders like anxiety and depression. Studies have found that whole-body cryotherapy was actually effective in short-term treatment for both.

What’s in Iaso® Life Drops and what it can do for you. First and foremost, Iaso® Life Drops is formulated with vitamin B-12, which has one of the largest and most elaborate chemical structures of all the vitamins. B-12 is essential for normal blood cell formation and supports health, energy, and metabolism in the body. Thiamin is utilized in this complex; it is responsible for many enzymatic processes that lead to growth, development, and the function of cells. It is needed to form adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the molecule that every cell can use as an energy source. Iaso® Life Drops contains Niacin too, because it aids the body in improving circulation, suppressing inflammation and converting food carbohydrates to glucose, which is the most easily used source of energy. Vitamin B6 was added because it assists in the absorption of vitamin B12, which works with eight other B vitamins to provide the body more energy in the form of glucose. There’s More. Iaso® Life Drops contains Biotin, which is a beast of a molecule that metabolizes fats, carbohydrates, and amino acids. It works with the B vitamins to convert carbohydrates into glucose and glucose into ATP energy. And then there’s vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), which works in conjunction with the other B vitamins in order to produce energy from food. It is also critical to the production of red blood cells and aids in the breakdown of fats and carbohydrates for energy. All of these active ingredients work synergistically to bring you a unique complex that works on a cellular level to boost your energy and metabolism while you continue to meet your weight loss goals.
