I didn’t think I would fall in love with the desert as much as I did in Palm Springs. The art, access to outside and culture really took me by surprise. I’m always looking for recommendations on place to go next! Anyone have any good mini weekend getaways on the west coast?
Oh Canada! How are you SO damn pretty?! 🇨🇦 Another post, another lake.. this one is Moraine Lake - also shrouded in smoke as mentioned in my last post [go check it out for more info] The road to Moraine is only open in Summer but if you’re prepared and adventurous, you could cross country ski or snowshoe in during the Winter months. The road opened up for the season this week WOOHOO! Be prepared for it to be crowded all.the.time. You can stay on the water’s edge at @morainelakelodge for an extra special experience ⛰ There are a few trails with epic views around this area that unfortunately I ran out of time to do. But you know what that means.. it’s just the perfect excuse to go back! 😉
So I’m currently computer-less on my California trip (which actually feels great!) so I’m afraid ill have to continue with some Israel pics! (Sorry, but really not sorry) Here’s a moment from the few minutes we had of sun after hiking to Masada for sunrise 🌅🙌🏽

Who has tried Durian? 🙋♀️ Nicknamed the king of SE Asia, some people love this spiky green fruit, which is light yellow and smooth on the inside. Others equate its smell to month old gym socks, and say it tastes like a mix between onions and caramel. I’m squarely in the latter camp- my first time having it, all I could taste was raw onions. . But that doesn’t mean I think it’s “gross”. Like so many things, I believe durian is either an acquired taste or something that if you grow up with exposure to, you feel differently about. Here, and on every trip, I try to be mindful of not being quick to judge other cultures. What’s unfamiliar to you may be “gross”, but it’s important to recognise that same thing can be a special treat for others. Trying new things, whether you like them or not, is what travelling is all about.
ɢᴇᴛᴛɪɴɢ ʟᴏꜱᴛ Old town stretches as far as you can see - no less than 2000 half timbered buildings here. The older they get the more crooked they look 🏚️ It was so satisfying for the eye to wander around those tiny cobbled streets #theculturetrip#citybreak
