Nothing like getting paid on a Sunday. I ran out of fingers to show how many miles I got in this morning. Paid the man 11miles today and felt good. Turned it up on mile 11 to cap off the “easy run” with a not so easy mile. Felt good to get in the zone and rack up the miles in the bank. Looking forward to this cycle of training. I’m determined to find the perfect balance between CrossFit and marathon training. Week 1 is in the books. These next few months will be more and more difficult to find the balance between high mileage runs and heavy lifts. I’m determined to figure it out by trial and error. Fear & Anger are our biggest limiters: to quote Tony Robins “Fear is why we don’t take action and anger is why we get stuck”. I can’t count the amount of times I have thrown the bar down in frustration/ kicked a plate/ swore/ cried and stomped around the gym floor because I’m so frustrated by my performance and inability to achieve something (in particular my continued struggle with landing a bar MU). Once this happens my performance deteriorates even further which leads to more tears and tantrums. When faced with a challenge that seems impossible or that’s incredibly frustrating, when you can’t nail your snatch or land a bar MU, don’t get angry, get great-full. Remind yourself of how you’ve come already and watch the anger melt away so that you can shake off your negative vibes and try, try, try again without the sense of vexation and mental block. 📸 @shauntraynorphotography 🏆🙌🏽👌🏽
