Cooper. 6 month old Labradoodle rescue, a morning of how to dog, and more happened with this handsome pup. I could of spent most of the session going in and out of the front door reshaping him from a cannonball, to a happy to greet people puppy. Hopefully he and his human do their homework or next time I gladly and happily will do just that.

Mon petit Vali... traumatised by the dogcatchers in Romania... this 3 year old boy came to me on facebook. Daily I see animals passing by needing a new home... you can't save them all... but I knew I needed to help... so this is my newest member of my little, not so little fosterfamily. Follow his story and see if he can learn how to dog again...
Nervous anxious dog? Maybe he paces or pants a lot. Reacts at everything. Not sure how to fix it? Just remember a multiple choice test. We've all taken at least one. Usually they were more preferred over open answer tests because they only had four options per question and so you had a 25% chance of getting it right even if you never studied. So picture the most important multiple choice test you will ever take. But what if, instead of four options per question, there were ten? Would you feel as confident? Even if you knew the answer, you might second guess yourself at least a few times. Maybe it's a trick question? Maybe you're wrong. Did you really remember what you studied right? Now, to add insult to injury, let's add another ten options to all questions. Now, they have twenty options. And there is only one right answer to each. How confident and calm are you now? This is your dog. Every day. Every second of that day. He's taking a twenty option multiple choice test, with a hundred questions to answer. It's why we tell them what to do. “Place!” “Down!” “Sit.” “No.” “Yes” “Leave it.” “Take.” “Come.” You're not being militaristic. You're being compassionate. You're giving your dog a way out, an escape from the many options that would otherwise annihilate his sanity daily. The less things he needs to decide for himself, the better. The calmer he can be. The less stressed he can live. And the less stressed you have to live because you don't have to pick up after him if he makes a wrong choice. Rules and accountability help keep your dog from guessing. It helps them ace that test. Every single time. #ilovemyjob#structure#anxiousdog#stresseddog#fearfuldog#howtodog#dogowners#accountability#rulesareimportant#leadership#itmatters#dogsofinstagram#dogstagram#dogsofig#connecticut#massachusetts#trainthetrainers#dogtraining
