I first heard the story of Virabhadra in @john_ashtanga ( yes I remember teacher ! ) class who decided to give us break by telling us the story of warrior Virabhadra. In warrior 1 he raises his hand and in warrior 2 he draws his sword to cut off dakshas head and in warrior 3 he offers the head. I later learnt in the story after Virabhadra repented on his wrong-doing , daksha was brought back to life. ( phew ! )My first reaction than was if warrior 3 pose is an offering why is it so difficult 😅 offerings are made with ease, right? Perhaps this is what the series of warrior poses teaches us too- as we build strength practicing these series of poses the strength is tempered with ease. To develope the spiritual warrior in all of us is to find the balance between the discomfort and the ease. #warrior#virabhadrasana#yogaeverydamnday#yogainspiration#homepractice#strength#balance
Urdhva Padmasana (upward lotus). I love the shape of this asana. I love the feeling of calm and clarity that it brings. And I love that there was a time when I couldn't even approach it! It's important to build slowly towards this and be very careful with your neck. When we practice shoulder stands in class, we are building strength, balance and control which is essential before attempting this. See you soon. ✨ March 23rd✨ Comfort Yourself ... Comfort is a place we can visit often, as often as we need to. Although certain places and objects help comfort us, it is really a place within each of us. Some of us may have thought that comfort was a waste of time, but now we know that there is tremendous power in comfort, the power to heal. We no longer have to deprive ourselves of comfort, of that warm feeling of being nurtured. We can visit it for ourselves, we can take others there with us. What brings you comfort? What makes you feel safe, cozy, warm, loved? What places? What people? What events? Learn to comfort yourself. Learn to accept comfort, and learn to give it. Go to that special place of comfort whenever you need to. Stay as long as you wish. The healing power of comfort will make life better. ~ @authormelodybeattie My comfort is always at home. But I also find comfort in music. I find comfort in silence. I find comfort in family. I find comfort in alone time. Brett's been out of town and will be for a few more days. I miss him but know he's having a great time which brings me comfort. ☺️ So I'm having a super chill Saturday night, doing whatever my comfort zone is telling me. 💜✌🏽👌🏽🙏🏽 Listening to 🎵🎵- our wedding song-These are the Days - Van Morrison. 💜💜 #memories @bwoodson04
I haven’t had this natural and neutral feeling so long ever since we started moving to new place. I think I and Cheetah had finally calm and good sleep last night. We woke up made some coffee while cleaning and went out side for a walk to explore our new neighbor. Cheetah was playing with her toys everywhere around my yoga mat while I was doing yoga to just chill. How lovely morning is that and that makes me really grateful for what we have now and encourage me to just keep going forward and don’t look back.
Discomfort is often viewed as something to avoid at all costs! We all know you grow through challenge but I’ve been thinking lately about how discomfort actually provides the greatest opportunity for growth. Think about it, type A personalities 🙋🏼♀️ associate challenge with achievement, which in turn provides its own kind of reward. There is no achievement, no reward when dealing with discomfort. It’s there and either continues or you somehow shift it to dissipate. THIS is where the real opportunity for growth lies- how can you learn from your discomfort and rather than perceiving it as something to avoid at all cost, change your perception to viewing it as an opportunity to grow? Toe sit is an asana which I’m currently working with to shift my perception x

I was first introduced to yoga during time spent in hospital about 4 years ago, and no it was not love at first site! The teacher had a slow style and my perception of yoga was that it was a “waste of time and energy that could be spent at higher intensity working out”. But I have learned that it is not about the physical benefits of yoga as much as the mental, at least for me. Sure I work towards fun poses and enjoy getting stronger, but it is the connection with my body that has been the greatest gain. Never have I had such a strong bond with my body, mind, or breath, and it only continues to grow. - Reconnecting with my first ever yoga teacher this admission has been both peaceful and empowering. The crazy part is not only how far I have come flexibility wise, but how much I have learned about the practice and how I can now allow myself time to truly let go of any worries and feel good for atleast the time being on the mat. I am able to fully relax in shavasana, understand proper alignment, and remember to breath in synchronicity with the movements. I am able to be present. I can now flow slowly while feeling like I am CREATING time, not “wasting” time. ✨💛 #writtenbyjen🍑 ⠀ ⠀⠀ **This video is very sped up, but I hope you can see how happy yoga (and mangos) make me. 🤗 I am working hard to get back home, and to beat this for real.🌻
You know, just my regularly scheduled Saturday shenanigans 🤷🏼♀️ 100% thought I might possibly eat shit if I fell to either side 😂 but thankfully we was good. Wanted to give a s/o to my babe @katelinluelo for always talking my photo/video, I appreciate you boo!
Lots of foreword folds were needed after a long day of walking around & exploring ⛪️🏃🏻♀️🌎 Saw some pretty amazing buildings & museums but definitely glad to be off my feet and able to stretch out my legs 🤗 Song: Promise by @bhwrd

Hey! It’s day 4 of #springgoddesses and we are opening our hearts with #camelpose 🐪 Our Goddess of the day is Persephone, Queen of the Underworld and Springtime. When she was kidnapped by Hades, God of the Underworld, the world went cold and dark. Her father Zeus made a compromise with Hades to let Persephone return home for a few month. When Persephone is home for those months, the world is bright again and vegetation comes to life 🌳🌸🌻 Spring Challenge hosts: @clarissa_mae_ @yoginiinheels @bentley.likethecar @leighyogipilot Sponsors: @sahajanskincare @aloyoga @alo.moves
~Channeling Caduceus~ As one myth goes...perhaps he and she were painfully entwined (in quarrel or battle or maybe just good-old fashioned Love) and Hermes drew his staff, drew a clear line, and peace was restored. May our words be a bridge more than a sword. May patience and rest bless you on this alchemical new moon and retrograde season. 🙏🏽💗🐍
It's good to go with the flow. But it's better to go with what you know-what you know to be true for you. Trusting yourself is the ultimate lesson. It's where all the guidance leads. -Melody Beattie ✨ I always used to think that yoga was too slow and boring for me. I never even gave it a chance I just assumed I knew. Whelp... Lesson learned. It is for me and I'm obsessed. However, what I love the most about it is that there isn't really a right or wrong when it comes to practicing yoga. The main point is listen to your body. Your body will tell you what feels good and what doesn't. Listen. On this journey I have often felt like "I'm not doing it right" because I don't really have a "set flow" ...I just kind of do what feels good and what my body tells me to do next. "Accidental yoga" is kind of how I think of it. It works for me and I love it. I'm this flow I did my first attempt at a press. It wasn't pretty but I did it and it felt so good. I do want to learn more and I plan to... which is why I'm so excited for my yoga teacher training in April! It's going to be amazing, I can already feel it. I'm ready. 💪🏽✌🏽💜🤸🏽♀️🧘🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️❤️❤️❤️ #yoga#imready#handstandpractice#morningflows#listen#gowithyourflow#yogalove#yogajournal#yogalife#yogajourney#yogaathome#yogaflow#yogainspiration#yogisofinstagram#yogafun#yogapose#homepractice#yogadaily#handstands#strength#stretch#inspire#practice#inversionjunkie#clt
