The Swiss Chard is holding up, in spite of this random cold snap .. we've gone from 90° to 40° in less than a week! Looks like it's time to start planting in the greenhouse 😉🌱 .. Honestly, I need to up my game with protecting plants from cold weather. Living in Florida generally means managing heat, but with the nature of these random cold snaps I could lose an otherwise healthy crop in less than 24hrs...
Having the kids involved with what we are doing is one of our core values.⠀ .⠀ This is a family run farm. We need all hands on deck to pull this off at the moment.⠀ .⠀ The kids main job is to collect the eggs & help put the chickens away at the end of each day. This means I don’t have to be running around down there after work.⠀ .⠀ The kids love it & spend a lot of their time just hanging out playing with the chooks, ducks & turkeys.⠀ .⠀ That in itself helps the poultry to be used to them, and used to people in general. As a result our birds are all really tame, including our roosters & turkey tom.⠀ .⠀ I love the lessons this place is teaching us all.
I have this in the bread machine, then I'll bake I and make garlic cheese bread, and homemade spaghetti sauce on the stove simmering!!!! Supper will be the 💥BOMB💥 #homemadeisbest#lovetocook#homegrownfood
