The Pont Saint Esprit mass poisoning occurred in a small town of Pont Saint Esprit in southern France 1951. Around 250 people were poisoned and 5 died as result of injuries, mass hysteria quickly spread and many were sent to asylums.
The Reichstag fire of 1933 occurred a month after Hitler was elected Chancellor but did have upright power since Germany was still a democracy. It is clear to us today that fire was a ploy by the Nazis giving them emergency power and signing a decree into law giving them absolute control of Government, the rest is History.
Judica-Cordiglia Brothers were two amateur radio operators who made audio recordings that allegedly support the theory that the Soviet space program covered cosmonauts deaths in the 1960’s. The most infamous recording is one of a female cosmonaut yelling I see “fire” and then later asking if she is ever going to return in which followed radio silence after. It is alleged that some cosmonauts drifted off into space without ever coming back.
12/14/1935 — The Actress 📽 . She was a one of a kind artist – graceful but playful in one jaw-droppingly deep role after the other. . Unsurprisingly, she was eventually nominated for both an Academy Award and a Tony 🏆 for her acting, which brought her to the same sets as Andy Griffith, Jack Lemmon, and Gregory Peck 🎬 . And she was born today in Quincy, 1935 👶🏻 . The daughter of another actress, Lee Remick always knew that she would perform. She started out dancing at what used to be the Swoboda School of Dance (and is now the Dance Complex in Cambridge) 💃🏼, and subsequently headed to New York to study at (but not graduate from) Barnard. . And just look at some of these resume highlights: . 1️⃣ “A Face in the Crowd” (1957) – Betty Lou Fleckum, a baton-twirling cheerleader who catches the eye of Andy Griffith as Lonesome Rhodes, an egomaniacal radio personality who flies too close to the sun (This is a cathartic must-watch in the Trump era) 📻 . 2️⃣ “Anatomy of a Murder” (1959) – Laura Manion, a survivor working with a lawyer to clear the name of her husband, who murdered his wife’s rapist ⚖️ . 3️⃣ “Days of Wine and Roses” (1962) – Kirsten Arnesen-Clay, a teetotaler who falls in love with Jack Lemmon’s character, Joe, as they both descend into the tribulations of alcoholism. Remick received an Oscar nomination for this role 🌹 . 4️⃣ “The Omen” (1976) – Katherine Thorn, who alongside her husband Robert (Gregory Peck), adopts Damien, a peculiar little boy who turns out to be the antichrist 😈 . In the wake of “Days of Wine and Roses”, Remick was called in to replace Marilyn Monroe after she got fired from “Something’s Got to Give”. Costar Dean Martin refused to work with anyone but Monroe, and so the film remained unfinished 😔 . Many roles 🎭, many decades ⌛️, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later 💫, after concurrent bouts with kidney

[THIS POST IS STRICTLY NON-POLITICAL] A young and lanky Adolf Hitler takes a picture with his friend Max Amann and another unknown soldier, World War 1. Hitler was just 26 years old at the time this photograph was taken. Note: Both Hitler and Amann, as well as the unknown soldier, have the Iron Cross 2nd Class. Hitler, living in Munich, enlisted in the Bavarian Army at the outbreak of World War 1. He was assigned to Bavarian Reserve Regiment 16, where he became a runner. Hitler spent 50% of his time far behind the frontlines but did see combat during the First Battle of Ypres, The Battle of the Somme, The Battle of Arras, and the Battle of Passchendaele. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class after his actions during the First Battle of Ypres. During the Battle of the Somme, a British shell landed in the dispatch runner's dugout he was taking cover in. He was wounded in his thigh, taking him out of action until March, 1917. He continued service as a runner in the Regiment throughout this time. On October 15th, 1918, Hitler was temporarily blinded in a mustard gas attack. This experience, blinded and scrambling through the trenches as the British attack, would haunt him for the rest of his life. Sometime during Hitler's World War 1 service a British soldier saw him on a road. He raised his rifle as Hitler turned around but, seeing the battered and exhausted Hitler, the soldier decided not to shoot. What a mistake that was. It was while Hitler was recovering in the hospital from the wounds he sustained on October 15th that he learned of the end of WW1. It was this loss, and events after it, that led to Hitlers great hate of the global Jewish population, specifically the German population. - #history#ww2#worldwar2#wwii#historical#germany#worldwar1#bavaria#bayern#historylovers#historychannel#worldwar1#ww1#wwi#soldiers#bundeswehr
