Here's a secret about me I've never spoken aloud: ⇘✲⇙ I used to body shame myself on the daily.  A lot of this had to do with something I hadn't realize until I got older: my CLOTHING 😱 I grew up on 90% hand-me-down clothes from my 3 older sisters. Which, now, is tremendously appreciated & I am forever grateful to have had clothes on my back. But back then, I absolutely HATED my situation.  Style is a huge passion of mine but I pushed it away for 10+ YEARS. Because of all of the things that were handed down to me as the youngest, my unhealthy teenage brain came up with the idea that I didn't deserve to have anything that was just MINE. & even WORSE, that my body just wasn't worthy of wearing clothes that made me feel empowered & confident as hell & that u wasn't worthy of that feeling :( This one thought led to a huge shift in my attitude towards my body. I felt disgusted with myself & began to hate on my figure. I told myself that my body just wasn't meant for the cute, girly clothes & was convinced that I'd just stick to leggings & solid colors.  Today, I am proud to say that I have stopped body shaming my own damn self. I choose to uplift myself 1 day at a time & now feel INSANELY comfortable in my body, & wear clothes that enhance the feeling of love for my body, not take away from it.  Point being: beautiful people, you are MORE THAN worthy of wearing (or not wearing) clothes that make you feel fierce, confident, cool, sexy, lovely, all of the things! & don't let anyone define those things for you, you define them for yourself.  None of us have a perfect relationship with our bodies. Life is wayyy too short for you to not wear clothes that make you feel good & confident, embody your unique style, or even make you feel just a little bit more like YOU. It matters because you do. If you put it on & it makes you smile, even but for half a second, wear it! You'll be so glad you did ♡

I go the extra mile when I’m preparing food, I want everyone’s tasted buds to be shocked in a lovingly good way 💗 #veganfood #veganrecipes #veganfoodshare #veganism #veganfoodie #chickpeas Recipe****** 2 cans chickpeas (drained, place liquid in mason jar and store in fridge for baking) ⅓ white onion (chopped) ¼ cup zesty pickles (chopped) 1 jalapeño (chopped)  1 tbsp red chili flakes (optional) 1 tbsp dried dill 1 nori sheet (chopped or crumbled) 6 tbsps vegan mayo Pink Himalayan salt, garlic powder, paprika & black pepper to taste. *Use black salt instead of pink Himalayan, if you want the taste of eggs.  Place chickpeas in a bowl and mash gently with a fork, add remaining ingredients mix and enjoy. *also as a tip be certain to use some of the seasonings from your pickles gives the fish life!!!

Another day, another chili. 🥳 This is our go-to quick meal. Just throw some beans and tomatoes and frozen corn in a pot with onion, garlic and spices. We also always toast up some frozen hamburger buns in the oven with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and oregano as a make-shift garlic bread. It's lit. What do you tell people when they tell you how much they hate Mondays? Pretend it’s Friday, or build a life that isn’t exciting only when weekends come around!  It’s our perception of what Monday’s represent to us. Monday is the “beginning” of another cycle of work/life balance; or imbalance. If your life is not moving in the direction you would like, Mondays really probably don’t feel very good. They could be a representation of everything that’s going wrong. If that’s the case, we’re reliving that weekly. And, the energy that it takes to bring us back to neutral is exhausting. If we actually ever try. This is creating stress physiology in the body with fear-based thinking in the mind. For me, Mondays are exciting. It means a new week of opportunities, growth and expansion. There are thousands of new possibilities along the journey of life that can and do happen from the start of Mondays. But as you can see, Mondays can mean totally different things to different people. Fridays can create a “perception” of what’s to come too. How many times have you entered into the weekend thinking “thank goodness it’s Friday” only to be let down because we had expectations of what would happen and how fun an event would be and it just wasn’t.  By design our lives are not without their share of challenges and curveballs. The work is not to focus on the challenges as if they define us or our lives. Reposted from @plantbasedprogression -  So, coming from England I'd never heard the bad press about rapeseed oil, our fields are full of rapeseed in summer. After posting my cake, I had a response about how bad rapeseed oil is (aka canola oil outside of Europe). So I spent some time researching this.  I couldn't find any evidence that this was the case (there are a couple of mice studies that often get thrown around but they are flawed in many ways). I can see that most the misconception comes from the fact that rapeseed used to contain a high amount of a substance called erucic acid, thought to be bad for the heart. However in the 70s this was bred out (NOT by genetically modifying but by selective breeding, then re-named Canola oil outside of Europe). Also, as it's  used for industrial purposes such as lubrication of machinery and biofuel...but so are other oils. It's actually a very environmentally friendly oil!  It has the lowest saturated fat content of any oil, high in omega 3 & 6, high in vitamin E. It also has a higher smoke point than some other oils, meaning you can cook it at a higher temperature before it creates fumes (Olive oil is not good at high temperatures)  Here in the UK at least, cold pressed oil is easy and cheaply found. We farm our own rapeseed and it is not genetically modified. I know that this is not the case outside of Europe, so I guess in the US I can understand wanting to avoid GMO, refined canola oil.  Unless anyone finds me hard, scientific evidence against rapeseed, I will be using it sparingly as with other plant oils. Roasted sweet potato gnocchi buddha bowl! 🌱 . Roasted herb sweet potato gnocchi, miso glazed eggplant, roasted curry herb chickpeas, and some chilli garlic guac dolloped right in the middle. FYI miso paste is now a current favourite. This was probably one of the most culturally diverse bowls I have made, but damn, every culture has some pretty amazing dishes/flavour components, so why not combine them? Every single element complimented each other like a white girl @ her best friend when she posts a sNatcheD insta (an unhealthy amount of heart face and fire emojis). . For the sweet potato gnocchi, I just altered my cauliflower gnocchi recipe by substituting the white potato and cauliflower for sweet potato. For the miso eggplant - I used 2 heaping Tbsps of miso paste with 2Tbsps of maple syrup and mixed it with 2 whole eggplants (cut into cubes). I baked it in an oven at 180°C fan-forced for around 30 minutes until caramelised!

It’s been quite the growth journey to get to where I am today, to know that without hesitation, this is the best move for me, that this is where I am supposed to be. . Milk Peda is an easy-to-make dessert recipe which is typically prepared with easily available ingredients like milk powder, condensed milk and is topped with pistachios. However an instant vegan version of the same is easily possible! ⁣ I love to serve this sweet dish on special occasions and festivals.⁣ Recipe below 📝👇🏻⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS:⁣ Ingredients for 4 Servings⁣ 🔸10 pieces pistachios⁣ 🔸1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder⁣ 🔸400 grams Vegan condensed milk⁣ 🔸8 piece green cardamom⁣ 🔸1 tablespoon Vegan ghee⁣ 🔸2 strand saffron⁣ 🔸1 1/2 cup coconut milk powder⁣ ⁣ INSTRUCTIONS:⁣ STEP 1⁣ To begin with ,cut pistachios into halves. Bring a microwave safe bowl and add milk powder, ghee and condensed milk in it.⁣ ⁣ STEP 2⁣ Whisk nicely to avoid lump formation. In a grinder, add cardamom seeds without skin and grind to a fine powder. Mix in nutmeg powder, cardamom powder and saffron in the mixture. Place the bowl in the microwave and heat at high for one minute. Take out the bowl and stir again.⁣ ⁣ STEP 3⁣ Heat again for 30 seconds. The mixture should be of thick consistency. If it is still thin in consistency then again heat for 30 seconds. Keep the bowl aside allowing the mixture to cool down a little. Golden coconut curry topped with my magical slaw. 🌶️🥕🍋🥦 *Delicious almost crunchy greens (broccoli/ courgette/ green beans) in a golden sauce made from all the good spices (they're all good): garlic, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, oregano, black pepper, caraway, cloves, coriander, fresh scotch bonnet chillis, steam fried in a splash of water. 🥥 *I added half a can of chickpeas, a heaped spoon of tomato puree and a can of coconut milk. Vegan Carrot Cake 🥕🥕🥕🥕 🥕🥕🥕 📸@vanillacrunch . . . 🥕 Recipe for a healthier vegan carrot cake with no regrets! 🥕 👇🏻 2 big carrots, finely grated 300g spelt flour 150gr sugar (works with all kind of granulated sugars) 180g grounded almonds 15gr baking powder 2/3 cup (150ml) sunflower oil 2/3 cup (150ml) oat milk or any non-dairy milk 1 tsp apple cider vinegar 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp nutmeg a pinch of fine sea salt • Icing 200gr vegan cream cheese 1 tsp lemon juice 150gr powdered sugar • Preheat your oven to 350F (180 degree) In a medium bowl, combine the grated carrots with the sugar, grounded almonds, sunflower oil, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. In another bowl combine the spelt flour with the baking powder. Gradually add to the carrot mixture in the other bowl until well combined. At the end, add the apple cider vinegar and immediately put in the baking tin and then in the oven. (Do not heavily whisk in the apple cider as this could make the whole mass sticky) Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes (But always check with a toothpick as every oven and baking tin is different!) For the icing, combine all ingredients and spread on the cake. If the mixture is too liquid put in the fridge for some minutes or/and add more powdered sugar. If you want add decoration like marzipan carrots. This was created from a place of pure cravings. I had just done groceries and the kitchen was my oyster. In pure gluttonous fashion, I decided to put together a giant bowl of everything I love and not give a damn about how anyone else might feel about it. The plot twist? Everyone loved it... a lot. Yeah, I guess that’s a good thing. But I was hoping to shame eat the entire thing in under 24 hours and hate myself a little for it. 🤷‍♀️ The tofu is pan-fried, which makes it delicious and not grossy-gross (which tofu can do be for me, even after 11 vegan years under da’belt) and also super crispy. Pressure cook 1 cup of masoor dal with 4 cups of water for 20 mins.⁣⁣⁣⁣ 2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and saute onions till they turn golden brown.⁣⁣⁣⁣ 3. Add crushed garlic , ginger, chopped tomatoes ,red chilli powder , turmeric and coriander powder and fry without burning the spices.⁣⁣⁣⁣ 4. Now add in cooked daal and mix well ⁣⁣⁣⁣ 5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).⁣ 2. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl and add the sugar, baking soda and salt. Then add the soy milk, vegetable oil, vinegar, vanilla, lemon extract and lemon zest. Whisk briefly with a hand whisk to combine properly and remove any lumps.⁣ 3. Line a cupcake tray with cupcake liners and divide the batter between them.⁣ 4. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.⁣ 5. When baked transfer to a wire cooling rack and allow to cool completely before frosting.⁣ 7. Prepare your frosting by adding the powdered sugar, vegan butter, lemon juice and lemon essence to an electric mixing bowl. Start at slow speed and gradually increase speed until smooth and thick. If it’s too thick, add a little more lemon juice until you reach the right consistency.⁣ 8.
