So, what are Personal Boundaries? - A “boundary” by it’s very definition, marks a limit of some kind. Your personal boundaries refer to the ways in which you allow others to treat you - I like to think of those internal “Yes and No’s” sort of like the boarder-line patrol unit for my Personal Boundaries. Their sole intention is to keep me safe and if I listen to them, they limit the amount of stress that I let into my life - But you gotta be the Boss. Yesterday, I talked a bit about cutting yourself some slack when you get off track from your eating plan. That's an important habit. I used the phrase, "goal-oriented eating plan" to better describe the way I like to view a "diet."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, while it's important that you cut yourself some slack and that you aren't too hard on yourself, there is definitely a time and place to hold yourself accountable for your actions and choices and to avoid getting stuck in a rut of mediocrity.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If your goal is to build a decent amount of muscle, that takes hard work and a certain level of dedication to achieve that type of goal. It involves consistent training, a well-thought-out program, good nutrition, adequate sleep, etc. If you cut yourself too much slack, you'll never get anywhere.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If your goal is to drop a significant amount of weight, whether that be for health reasons or simply to fit into a particular outfit for a special occasion, it takes a certain level of dedication and work. You need to stick to an overall calorie deficit. You need to incorporate strategies that will help you stick to that calorie deficit. You need to develop habits and possibly change your food environment. If you cut yourself too much slack or let yourself slide too much on the weekends, you'll never get anywhere.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, yes, cut yourself some slack and understand that one meal or one day is not going to ruin you. Have some perspective and understand that your diet and even training, are not all or nothing endeavors.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, if you want to reach your goals you will need to put in the work, make some sacrifices, and do hard things at times or else you might get stuck in a rut of mediocrity.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Seems pretty straightforward right? ⠀ ⠀ We are the ones that take care of ourselves and make the choices daily that are better for our own health and wellness. We are the ones that put ourselves first. ⠀ ⠀ Except maybe...⠀ ⠀ If you work full time out of the home, have a million deadlines and only a couple hours to see your kids.⠀ ⠀ If you are a stay at home mom and the mountain of laundry, toys, dishes is never-ending. Plus you have your own business you are trying to build. ⠀ ⠀ If you are in general just playing catch up every day because you are a busy mom. ⠀ ⠀ Am I right? I know I relate to every single one of these. ⠀ ⠀ It actually took me years to realize that my health should be a priority in my life. If I am taking care of myself I can better take care of everyone else in my family. ⠀ ⠀ Seems simple to do....but as moms we all know it's not. Not when our own habits are to make sure everyone else is taken care of first. ⠀ ⠀ I'm not saying that making sure your kids are good and well taken care shouldn't happen. Because as moms...they are our priority. What I am saying is that as moms we need to also put ourselves as a priority as well. ⠀ ⠀ 👉So if that means the kids watch an extra hour of TV so you can workout or get some meal prep in....then that's ok. ⠀ ⠀ 👉If it means you plan for a quick 30 minute walk around the block and ask for hubby to take the kids for that time....then that's ok. ⠀ ⠀ 👉If it means you leave the dishes and laundry for a day to rest...then that's ok. ⠀ ⠀ ❤️You need to ALSO be on the top of your list. ⠀ ⠀ Join my 30 Days in May: Nutrition Challenge and start to make yourself a priority in your life again. Last year on Easter I had lost 30 pounds and was really starting to feel and see the effects of losing weight. I was wearing a smaller size in both my jeans and t-shirt. My boots were also fitting looser and overall I had more energy. Fast forward one year and my confidence is through the roof! I’m feeling confident about making this a life style change as well as incorporating fitness. Last year I had not attended a fitness class yet on Easter and now I workout six days a week including training for a half marathon! 2018 Easter Jessie could not imagine how great 2019 Easter Jessie would be! Research suggests laughter can decrease stress hormones, reduce artery inflammation and increase HDL, the “good” cholesterol, says the American Heart Association (AHA). 😊 Researchers at University of Maryland Medical Center found that laughter increases your blood flow by dilating the inner lining of blood vessels, which is called the endothelium. 😂 The researchers said the change in the endothelium caused by laughter appears to be similar to the benefits of aerobic exercise or the use of cholesterol-lowering drugs like statins. As trainers, when we have a first consultation with a lady, “toned” is the magic word. “I want to be toned, but I don’t want to lift heavy weights because I don’t want to look bulky”🤷🏻‍♀️. . For that reason, I would like to clarify some facts:. ✨ Toned means that you can see the separation of the muscle, in other words, toned CAN’T exist without muscles. ✨For a female, building big muscles NATURALLY, isn’t easy, no matter how heavy you lift.  If you are a woman, you will ALWAYS look like a woman. If you see a woman who has muscles like a man, most of the time it’s because they are helping with male hormones. ✨Being skinny has nothing to do with being toned. Many skinny women can have a high percentage of body fat, caused by the lack of muscle 🙃. ✨ONLY cardio will NEVER make you look toned. Especially if it’s high intense, extremely long cardio, which I call “the muscle destroyed workout” or “the skinny fat maker”. .
