So many of us Are taking vacations this summer and enjoying the nice weather. Just because you are on vacation, doesn’t mean your entire lifestyle has to change or completely derail. This is a great time to rest, renew, de-stress etc. flooding your body with all the bad food and alcohol while abandoning your fitness routine, is not the way to do it. I’m not saying you have to be 100% on track, but stick with the 80/20 rule of nourishing your body. When you get back from your vacation, your body and mind will thank you! ✅keep with your exercise routine. You may have to mix it up. Run outside, bike, kayak, take a new class locally. ✅ask your family to help and support you. If your goal is to maintain your healthy eating patterns, ask them to support you and not food push - that’s the worst!!!! ✅If you’re limiting your alcohol intake or not having any, let people know and that you would appreciate them not pushing it on you. Your body will thank you. ✅get to sleep early and take a nap if you can. ✅read a book (I have kids so I’ve been trying to finish a book for over s year lol) ✅if you have child care, go on a date. Simple oatmeal 🌞🌞 . 🌺Ingredients 1. 6 tablespoon oats 2. 1/2 cup coconut milk (thin) 4. 1  a tablespoon or chia seeds 5. 2 tablespoon flax seeds powder 6. 1 spoon jaggery powder 7. 1/4 spoon cocoa powder . 🐝Method 1. Add sabja/chia seeds to a bowl with 1/4 cup water and refrigerate for 15 min. It will swell up. 2.cook the oats along with milk until it thickens, allow to cool for 15 minutes 3. Roughly blend flax seeds and add 1 spoon of water. Add jaggery powder and cocoa powder and make a thick paste 4. Add the chia to the oatmeal and stir. 5. Yaaay! . Another loss. Thank F***! . It’s not quite even a week yet either! I weighed Friday last week but I want to go back to regularly weigh in on Wednesdays. . I’ve had a real wobble with how to move forward with my weight loss this week. Whether to continue to follow a very low calorie plan or not? If not then what plan?If any plan at all? What to actually eat? Low carb? High protein? . I used a calorie calculator to estimate how many calories a day I need to maintain my current weight based on age, gender and activity levels. It came out at around 2470 calories a day. It’s estimated you need to burn approx 3500 cals a week to lose 1 pound of fat.  So by cutting back daily 1000 cals I should lose 2lb a week. I’m going to eat healthily across the main food groups and aim for approx 1400. This now makes sense to me and as I lose weight I will adjust the daily cals (lower) because I’ll be needing less. . Compared to what I have been trying to consume in a day- 800 calories- I’m feeling I won’t be deprived and will have energy. . ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️ . January Start weight: 17:9. May Wedding weight: 16.0. June weight after honeymoon: 17:2!! 🙈. 21/6/19 last week: 16:10 ⬇️ 6lbs. I normally don’t do Plyometric moves because I am deathly afraid of falling and injuring myself but I have it a try because it was in my fitness schedule for the week to have a complete day of Plyo. 𝐈’𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐢𝐭!! Not only did I not fall completely down (I did hit my toe on the box once and almost tripped😊) but I felt sooo good afterwards! ⁣ ⁣ I am so glad I conquered my fear and just did it! You guys can look forward to more Plyo vids in the future. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬…⁣ ⁣ This whole, “the best diet for fat loss” conversation is poo.⁣ ⁣ And I’m not talking about the bear.⁣ ⁣ The problem is this question is the wrong question.⁣ ⁣ Why?⁣ ⁣ 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘥𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘰.⁣ ⁣ So then the REAL question is, why can’t you stick to your diet?⁣ ⁣ Let me tell you what’s NOT the answer:⁣ ❌You’re consuming too many carbs.⁣ ❌Your coffee isn’t bulletproof.⁣ ❌Your juice isn’t celery.⁣ ⁣ The answer is all-encompassing:⁣ ✅Your approach isn’t sustainable.⁣ ⁣ The key to success is finding a sustainable approach.⁣ ⁣ Here are some habits that make nutrition sustainable:⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭⁣ A default diet is a template or way of eating that you can always fall back on. For example, my default diet for months has been:⁣ ⁣ Four meals a day.⁣ Meal 1 - Protein + Fruit. = 🍓🍳⁣ Meal 2 - Protein + Starch + Veggies =🥩🥗🍚⁣ Meal 3 - Protein + Starch + Veggies =🥩🥔🥦🥕⁣ Meal 4 - Protein + Starch + Veggies + dessert =🥩🥗🍚🍫⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣ 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 & 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞.⁣ We’re social beings. We’re not meant to stay at home obsessing about our diets. ⁣ ⁣ So you need to plan.⁣ ⁣ Plan for 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 you’re going to do a meal out, and scope the menu before to plan 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 you’ll have.⁣ ⁣ When going out to eat, I fancy a whiskey neat, a protein, and a carb - like sushi, steak and fries.⁣ ⁣ Whatever it is, I plan, then prepare my day to coincide with fitting this into my diet.⁣ ⁣ The simplest way to do this is to eat Protein + Veggie meals prior; this helps keep you full during the day

. 💥 WHAT TO DO AFTER BINGE EATING? -
 Usually, diets that are very restrictive, very often lead to binge eating because they do not allow you to eat any of the food you enjoy. It can maybe be easy to tough up to that kind of a diet for a few weeks but the question is would you be able to stick to it for rest of your life? The answer is always no. 🙀 -
 Even with flexible dieting, binge eating happens to almost everyone. However, there are many people that start to hate themselves because of that and restricting their diet even further which will only lead to even more overeating and nothing positive at all. After binging, they also do an excessive amount of cardio and literally starve themselves. This kind of approach to your diet is unsustainable won’t lead you anywhere. 🍓
-  What people don’t realize is that restricting their diet even more, and doing loads of cardio will just lead them to binge city more and more. Instead of doing this all over again, when you want to eat a cookie, eat it. However, that doesn’t mean you have to eat the whole box. Once you see that you can eat whatever you want and whenever you want it becomes much easier and much more sustainable. Even when binging and overeating happens, put the whole thing behind you and get back to your diet plan as soon as possible. The key is to not overstress about it and move forward. 
Fantastic when families and esp children get together for hands on cooking demos. The importance of healthy eating starts in the home, it doesn’t have to be complicated nor time consuming. Although quite frequently these are messy!  The two ingredient flatbreads were a fantastic hit and the kids loved popping the different toppings on to them too. I've talked about misguided information on packaging and today's post totally relates to this. . Food labels have gotten better at providing thorough information on the packaged food you are purchasing. Before 1994, they were only required to provide an ingredient list. . But that doesn't mean that the information is always clear. Serving size is one of those things that we may not necessarily look at but that can totally change if a product is decent or not, health wise. . Companies often try to lower the serving size so that calories, fat or sugar content look smaller to the perusing eye. This is especially true to junk food like cookies or chips. . A serving size may be advertised as half an energy bar or 10 chips when really you are more likely to eat to whole bar or 30 chips. . These cereals are another example of what an actual seving size is.
