Long before we went onto our fruitful vegan journey about 5+ years ago, we used to eat watermelon in summer a lot as dessert after a barbecue. 🙈 Little did we know about proper food combining and fruit was a popular refreshment after a fatty feast. And if we then got stomach pains or digestive issues, we blamed the fruit itself. . Since the digestion of fruits takes place much quicker than veggies, cooked meals and especially fatty foods, the fruit can’t pass by the previous meals when eaten right afterwards. This then leads to fermentation processes accompanied with pain and bloating. An extreme case is watermelon which is very fast in digestion and best eaten alone.👌🏻 . So as a rule of thumb - eat the most juicy stuff first and the foods with a lower water content and/or higher fat content afterwards, preferably with a certain time window in between. . When it comes to our beloved watermelon, we really like it for breakfast - super refreshing and hydrating after a good night’s sleep. 🍉🍉 . . #rawfood #watermelon #foodcombining

Yes, even of healthy foods.⁣ ⁣ While it might seem like a hassle to weigh your food, it’s an incredible exercise in awareness. And it makes it far easier to know exactly how many calories you’re consuming.⁣ ⁣ Have you ever weighed out one serving of nuts? It’s pretty shocking because the portion is sooo small.  And it’s incredibly easy to eat way more than just that single serving.⁣ ⁣ Truth is, us humans way underestimate how much we’re actually eating. What’s tricky about eyeballing portions is that the variance between a small and a large or an extra ounce or two isn’t more than a few more bites. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Creamy mushroom ravioli ☘️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ RECIPE (for 3-4): ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ for the DOUGH: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *300g wholemeal flour *1/2 tsp salt *2 tsp oil *180ml water ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ >> Combine all the ingredients into a bowl and knead together to a smooth dough. Now put it into the fridge for about 30 minutes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ for the FILLING: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *70g onions *130g mushrooms *150g vegan morazella or cream cheese *1 tbsp rice syrup *herbal salt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ >> Fry your onions in pan with some oil and sweeten them with some rice syrup. Now add you mushrooms, some herbal salt and let cook until done. Cut your mozarella into small pieces and add them to the pan, so it can melt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now you can either divide you dough into about 60 pieces and roll them out seperately into small circles or roll out your dough and use a cookie cutter. Now distribute your filling to half of your cut out pieces and lay a matching one on top. Use a fork to compress your ravioli all the way around.
