Do you have a goal? Do you put intention behind that goal and do whatever you can to achieve it no matter what life throws your way? . My goal is to complete the Shamrock Half Marathon in March, and I intend to cross the finish line running. I’ve had this goal for awhile - probably since I finished my last half marathon almost 2 years ago, but I let everything else deter me. I gave up on fully committing to training and made mostly lame excuses for why I couldn’t get out and just run. Sure, there were definitely some valid points along the way (low blood sugar, illness) but mostly just plain old excuses. The goal was there but the intention to complete it hadn’t been fully embraced. Well, today I intended to run 9 miles. I woke up, later than planned, and started looking at the weather. I also thought about how “tired” I was and how I should just stay in bed. I thought “what’s the point” and “do you really want to run for almost 2 hours (yeah - I’m slow)? And oh yeah, you’re slow and always will be!! . BUT, sleet, rain, and excuses be damned! I went out and ran for 9.6 miles. Yes, there were some walking intervals and yes I was soaked to the bone, but I DID IT!! Besides, perfect training for the Shamrock - that weather is so unpredictable. . Do something today that you can be proud of - you are worth it!!! . #icandoit#youcantoo#motivation#lovetorun#fitness#exercisemotivation#runnergirl#exercise#running#strength#run#getoutandmove#healthychoices#healthylifestyle#healthyhabits#fitspo#getoutdoors#justmove#sweatyselfie#movemore#postrunselfie#t1d#t1dlookslikeme#diabetes#diabetic#defeatdiabetes#beatdepression#iinhealthcoach#healthcoach
It's Saturday morning and as I sit drinking my coffee, I am reflecting on a few things. . Yesterday, after posting about me and my life, I invited people to ask me questions. I have to admit I didn't expect so many responses. It was AWESOME. . I noted that while most of us WANT to improve our health, and are looking for ways to build healthy eating & fitness into our busy lives, we just don't know how. I had one DM from a woman who admitted she just couldn't start another diet only to fail again. . That feeling of doubting yourself juxtaposed with that bright hope that maybe THIS time - this diet - will be different. Oh that gives me all the feels. . Because I felt, for many years, like I had failure tatooed on my forehead. BUT as my PT pointed out to me, I just learned 100 ways that didn't work for me before I got to the one that DID. . So I'm here to flip the script and ask you something else: WHAT IS THE VALUE OF IMPROVED HEALTH & FITNESS TO YOU? What would that mean to you and your life? . For me, it meant I could show up for my family every day. I could be the mom, the wife, the biz partner that made a difference. I wasn't hampered by hypertension, limited mobility and high blood pressure. . So friend, I hope this inspires you to consider what value being healthier & stronger would bring to your life. . If you're looking to how to do it in a healthy & positive way with a proven program that teaches you ALL the skills you need to lose weight, & get fit PLUS having a coach to help you every step of the way ... then I'd love to invite you into my coaching program. . Remember friend, health is our greatest wealth and the better you feel the more your life, and the lives of the people around you, will improve. . Lots of love xoxo. . . . . . . . . #mindset#success#health#nutrition#weightloss#healthyfood#healthyeating#healthyliving#healthylifestyle#cleaneating
Being on vacation doesn’t mean my goals go on vacation too. Workouts just about every day. Mindful eating (not restriction) with a few cocktails thrown in means I get to enjoy myself but also get to keep after goals.
It’s not about weight. It’s about the baggage you carry. ✊🏻 - In the first picture I was cleared from the hospital. Not because of cancer. No no. This was just 2 years ago when I suffered the firsts symptoms of esophagus stenosis: something really rare even more for someone with my age! 🤷🏻♀️ all of this due radiation. - Anyway, being SLIM doesn’t mean being HEALTHY. 🙅🏻♀️ Don’t compare your life and body with someone else’s. My body has A LOT of issues. MY ISSUES, MY STRUGGLES. In a few months I will lose weight again because of this rare digestive disease and for people who don’t know me it will look like I’m on a super diet because I’ll be super shredded. Nop. I will be sick. - Appreciate your life, your health. When I talk with people about my healthy lifestyle it’s not about THE BODY, it’s about your health! Your body will change as a consequence. - Second picture: myself right now. Happy, energetic, grateful. ✨ - ⚡️⚡️DROP AN EMOJI - if you are thankful for life!! 💪🏻⚡️⚡️ . . . . . . . #picoftheday#healthylifestyle#pray#loveyourself#spiritualawakening#journeytowellness#inspiration#motivation#motivated#inspired#healthychoices#womenwhodo
Same girl, same year, COMPLETELY different mindset ✌🏼 . The girl on the left didn’t believe in herself, she had zero confidence, feeling discouraged and not seeing results in the gym, drank every weekend and ate her feelings ➡️ 5 months later, the girl on the right took action on her dreams, believes she can do anything because she DID the damn thing, is the most confident she’s ever been, knows how to fuel her body but still enjoys the occasional glass or two or red wine🍷 and still able to see the best results of her life . No diet pills, no restricting, no fad diets, just hard work, consistency, and changing what “living a healthy lifestyle” meant in my mind 💫 Change your mindset, and I promise it will change you life 💕
When we're feeling tired and just not ourselves, periodically dedicating a period of time to removing all processed, convenience foods that are void of nutrients from our diet and instead only choosing whole, live foods as close to nature as possible, is an extremely beneficial thing to do. The reason we eat the right foods and remove the harmful foods is so that you have less interference and your body can do what it was designed to do, and that is to heal. #cleaneating
Więcej pokaże za kilka dni na miejscu 😉 Tymczasem szanujcie swoje jelita, dbajcie o siebie, bez fiksacji z zasadą 80% dbałości i 20% luzu ♥️ #love#my#job#dietetyk#dieta#jelita#hormony#zdrowie#zdroweodżywianie#zdrowadieta#odżywianie#nutrition#healthy#healthychoices#dietetykonline#warszawa#dietoterapia#jedzenie#redukcja#sylwetka#uśmiech
a little bit of everything going down on this saturday morning 💕🤗 happy weekend friends! i put together this breakfast plate after a killer row class 💪🏼 i attempted @leanneliveshealthy’s scrambled eggs and i think they turned out pretty good 😎 i’m off to drink my coffee, work on an assignment and then i’m going for dinner later on today! i hope you all have a lovely day ❤️ #whatsonmyplate 👉🏻 2 scrambled eggs topped with feta and chili flakes, half of a cacao banana @risebar with some @georgiagrinders cinnamon vanilla pecan peanut butter and some berries!
Deep greens potion filled with cavolo nero, @macacha_uk plant protein peace blend, cinnamon & ginger spiced applesauce, @alchemysuperblends morning elixir, @coyo_uk vanilla coconut yogurt, a bit of avo, soaked chia seeds and @plenishdrinks almond milk to blend. Topped it all with heart & star apple slices and a sprinkle of coconut and seeds😍Spiced, creamy and full of some of my favourite fats sources🤩 Speaking of fats, I had an interesting conversation with someone yesterday. I was writing an answer for the ask the experts section of plantbased mag that I contribute to on trans fats and if we should eat them. I was suggesting to limit them when we can as high consumption has been linked to increased risk of developing cardiovascular and coronary heart disease..so this person asked me “what about what you always say about not cutting out food groups and classifying them as bad”. And yes, that’s definitely what I believe. I don’t think we should label or think of specific foods as bad or forbidden and eliminate them from our diet unless there are known intolerances, allergies or health conditions that require it. And of course if you have certain ethical beliefs that make you want to not eat certain foods which I totally respect and share. But we also need to be sensible and take care of our health as much as we can. I’ll never say, never eat donuts for example..I mean, they are delicious😉have one, enjoy! But I’ll also never recommend to have hydrogenated oils and fats (which is what trans fats are) as a regular and constant part of your diet. One thing is not demonising foods, another is being mindful of prioritising your wellbeing and nourish your body and mind most of the time. What are your thoughts about it?😊Happy Friday!💚#sweetnutrition
I guess all this chocolate going around for Valentine’s kind of influenced me in some way and I ended up putting brownie pieces on my smoothie..not complaining though😉 For this green potion I blended up hemp milk with a handful of steamed kale, added a pinch of cinnamon and cardamom, a few spoonfuls of @nushfoods strawberry yogurt, a tsp of @oneearthblends green goodness blend, soaked chia seeds, a scoop of @vivolife vanilla plant based protein, half a small avo and topped it all with mini chunks of raw brownies😍 Brownies are something that almost everyone loves and even when I make raw ones people like them and never asks what’s in it..they just enjoy with a smile on their face😊 For these, I mixed 1 cup of coconut flour 1/2 cup of tiger nut flour (@thetigernutcompany) (I had to keep these nut free but you could use almond, hazelnut or walnut flour, wether you buy it or simply process the nuts until they reach a fine consistency) 1/2 cup of cacao powder (@therawchocolatecompany) 1/2 cup of maple syrup 1 tsp of vanilla extract 1/2 tsp of cinnamon Pinch of salt 1 cup of desiccated coconut (if using nut flour, use almonds, hazelnuts, cashews or peanuts) Place the maple, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and coconut in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth and creamy. In a bowl, stir together the flour and cacao powder. Pour the paste from the food processor in the bowl with the dried ingredients and fold in with a spatula. Transfer to a square tin lined with parchment paper and freezer for about an hour. Take out, cut into squares and wait 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy with a chai latte or a cup of tea and share with someone!🤩 Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for longer shelf life😊 Optionals: stir in a 2-3 tbsp of melted cacao butter for a slightly sillier and harder texture substitute maple with soft dates or dried apricots which I personally love!☺️ Happy
Warming chai green potion to start the week right😊 Warm @plenishuk coconut milk blended with a handful of spinach, a sachet of @puritionuk chai latte plant based blend (got one to try and anything chai has my vote☺️), about 1/4 cup of homemade pear and apple sauce, a tbsp of soaked chia seeds, 1/2 tsp of @naturya spirulina powder, 1/4 cup of @mightybeelondon coconut meat and topped it with pear slices, a drizzle of tahini and a sprinkle of @therawchocolatecompany dried mulberries and cacao mulberries chips😍 My kind of delicious spiced cuddle in a bowl🤩 I had a conversation with someone yesterday that was so convinced that spirulina was the best source of B12. Now, I like using it to add colour to sweet treats or in my smoothies and it’s definitely a concentrated source of various great nutrients but no matter what your favourite “online expert” says, it can’t be your source of supplemental B12! If you recently transitioned to a plant based diet, unless you were deficient before, you are most likely not deficient now as B12 gets stored in the liver for a few years. Just do a simple blood test to check your levels and see where you’re at. If you have been following a plant based diet for years and are planning on continuing doing so, you need to supplement B12. Ask your GP or nutritional professional for different options available and pick the one that suits you best. With the exception of certain nutrients in individual cases and conditions, plant based and vegan diets can provide all of our nutritional needs and there are plenty of studies to sustain so. But B12 has to be supplemented. Always take care of your health first, learn and educate yourself and don’t let online information influence your choices if you haven’t checked that the source actually knows what they are talking about😉 Happy Monday!💚#sweetnutrition
