What Kind of Precautions Do You Take? 🌱 These #fruits have amazing antimicrobial properties. #limes contain flavonoid antioxidants known as flavonol glycosides. Tis the season for a lot more alcohol then normal. Yes, even if you aren't much of a drinker you probably find yourself partaking in an extra cocktail or two. But that extra drink might leave you with a hangover the next day, and no one has time for that. If you want to enjoy the holidays (responsibly of course) and skip the unwanted after effects, then save this post. Here is our secret hangover prevention protocol! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ __⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You'll need the following on hand: Activated Charcoal capsules, powdered Electrolytes, and a B-12 sublingual/spray. Take 1 Activated Charcoal capsule with every drink, and then an additional 2-3 before you go to bed. Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the night. Before bed drink a glass of electrolytes. Plant Based Foods That Fight Bloating  Bloating can happen for a number of reasons, and some might be as obvious as you might assume.  Hormones, stress, digestion problems, food sensitivities, eating too much fiber at one time, or even eating large meals can all cause bloating.  Whatever the case, certain foods (some drinks included) can combat bloating and help you gain relief quickly.  Eliminating salty foods, processed foods, foods with added sugar, and drinking plenty of water should be the first things you do to combat bloating.  Sugar and salt cause the body to hold onto water, so removing them is key to combat bloating more than anything else.  Last but not least, Water will help flush out toxins that cause bloat and will actually help relieve water weight via the kidneys.  SECOND SLIDE  Feeling bloated ? Of course you want to identify what causes you to bloat to try to prevent it in the first place. But here’s a stretch you can do while bloated to help bring you relief! .. It’s called the Twist. Also known in yoga as Supta Matsyendrasana. .. When you are actively in your twist, you are wringing out your digestive system, just as you would a wet towel. .. This movement can help expel wastes, move food and waste along your digestive system, and generally stimulate waste removal and help relieve bloating. When you release your twist, fresh blood—and therefore fresh oxygen and nutrients—can rush back into your digestive organs, helping nourish and support them. .. Starting on your back, keep your legs straight in front of you. Bend one leg then draw and cross it over your body. Keep both shoulders grounded. MEN AVERT YOUR EYES ♀️ Can we just talk about that time of the month for a sec? It affects everyone differently, some wayyyyyyyy more than others. It can affect your skin, your mood, your weight, your eating habits (mainly linked to mood I would say)... Personally, I don't want to train, I'm tired, and I want to eat all the (vegan) ice cream. But in the grand scheme of #lifegoals that's not really an option, so what do I do about it? I modify 😎 SWAP your doughnuts for fruit, and your ice cream for a smoothie bowl. If you don't feel like TRAINING HAM, do some YOGA or go for a WALK. Yes a walk. Or just train at a lower intensity. DRINK more water and less coffee. And when you're craving nothing else except chocolate and candy kittens ask yourself: is this 10 second satisfaction worth it? Will it help me reach my goals? Is it actually going to make me feel better? Normally, for me anyway, it's a no 😂. If I'm being HONEST and not playing ridiculous mind games with myself. You have heard me talk about macros but what is a macro? “Macro” is the abbreviation for macronutrients— nutrients the body needs (protein, carbohydrates and fat) . . All while I was growing up it was all about calories - “a calorie is a calorie” and in order to lose weight we tracked calories in vs. calories out. . However, science and research has shown that it is more complex than that and it is so important for our bodies to get the right balance of macro nutrients. Fueling your body with whole food nutrition allows you to eat so much MORE but also feel more satisfied! Yesterday I got to chat with @miamidoctor who practices cutting edge, integrative medicine in Miami. 🔷  It’s important to look at your health as a whole- your body is a product of a variety of things: 1. genetics 2. the food you put in it 3. the stress (good or bad) that surrounds you  4. your hormones 5. your relationship with gravity -ie what it does to your posture 6. how often you MOVE 7. how you 😴 (Just to name a few...) 🔷  Consider each person in charge of your health an assistant (ie doctors, physical therapists, nutritionists, personal trainers.) You are the CEO of your own Body TM. (You like that, ha,🤪) 🔷  Be good to your body. Surround it with great staff🙌🏻. But know-you are responsible for the whole company. It is our second #lowcarb day for ME and ALL of my clients 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 We are focused on depleting our glycogen stores by focusing on lean PROTEIN (salmon, tuna, deli meat, chicken…) and healthy FATS (avocados, eggs, oils, nuts, nut butters, hummus, guacamole, dark chocolate…) as well as a sprint workout today! This allows are bodies to reach into our fat stores for energy especially during our workout!  I challenge you to try this: ▫️Warm Up for 5-10 mins (light jog/walk) ▫️Sprint Intervals for 10 mins (20 seconds sprint and 40 seconds walk/jog) This can also be done on the elliptical ▫️Followed by a low intensity walk/jog for 15-20 minutes (keep your heart rate in the fat burning zone) . . I guarantee you will feel the burn ladies --- and it is one of my favorite days (other than being a little chilly this morning🥶)!
