Winter’s got me down today - more shoveling, chapped hands, people making up parking spots on the street which blocks my driveway…ugh, such is life!  So I found myself (and my partners in crime - my daughter and her best friend whom I jokingly refer to as my second daughter) eagerly dreaming of a planned trip where there will be sun and warmth!  I swear, a key happiness element (and NH winter survival tip) is to always have something to look forward to. :) Of course, it helps us to find the good in today, have gratitude for that and not wish away the time, but it does help to dream. SIMPLE One-Pan Roasted Cauliflower and Sweet Potatoes... Ingredients: 2 sweet potatoes, peeled, washed and cubed into bite-size pieces, One small cauliflower head, washed, and cut into 1 inch bite-size pieces, 2-3 tbs olive oil, 1/2 tbs garlic powder, 1 tsp rosemary, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp sea salt. Directions: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spread tinfoil over a baking sheet. Place the vegetables on the pan. Drizzle olive oil over top and mix thoroughly. Sprinkle seasoning. Bake for 25 minutes, until vegetables are tender. Decision Fatigue - it’s definitely a thing. Decision fatigue happens when we are constantly bombarded with decisions: * What should I wear today? * Which time should we meet? When are you free? * How do I spin this so that our clients aren't upset? * Bite your tongue? Or speak your mind?

You can think of them as masculine and feminine, or as yin and yang. : :  We all contain a certain amount of both energy and must find a way to achieve a balance between both types if we are to live authentically and happily. Think about the role each type of energy appears to play in your life, and whether there is an excess or a deficit of either.

Does green tea ever upset your stomach? 🤢 For the longest time I thought I was allergic to SOMETHING in certain green teas, because they would make me nauseated. I said as much to Dominick one time when I got sick drinking some tea at our favorite coffee shop out here, he did some googling, and guess what? If you drink green tea on an empty stomach, the natural tannins present in the tea can increase your stomach acid and cause nausea. I forgot I knew this a few times since learning it and found that any time I’d gotten an upset stomach from tea since then, it was that I had had it on an empty stomach. I’m so glad to have finally figured this out (now I let myself have all that tea I thought I was allergic to)! Is this news to anyone or was I the only one who didn’t know this? . . On a related note: the only dinosaur who loved drinking tea was the tea-rex 🍵🦖

#repost @gracefuleasehealthcoach • • • • • 3 weeks into my @conscious_muscle fat loss protocol and I'm feeling so so so fantastic. I am lifting faster than I have in a long time. I have implemented more cardio into my routine in the form of spinning and I can already feel a massive difference in my metabolic recovery. I'm eating whole foods and feeling lighter than ever because of it. I am living proof that a little bit of discipline goes a long way, and that focus is key. My goal at the beginning of the year was to lose 10 lbs. The number on the scale hasn't changed but my body certainly has. I have to rewrite my goal now because my priorities have shifted. I want to keep losing fat, not focus on the numbers the scale is reading back to me. And that realization is so pivotal for me. I used to be such a rigid person and of course a month later I'd find myself ass deep in cookie butter and white truffle potato chips feeling all kinds of guilt. No more. Rigidity isn't realistic. Consistency, flexibility, and being kind to yourself is. I know this is a super long post but these endorphins are no joke 😂 all I'm saying is: move daily, love always (especially yourself), and eat as close to the earth as possible but be balanced and enjoy yourself when the opportunity arises.

La metí al horno casi dos horas 🙈 partida a la mitad con un poco de agua en el refractario 🎃 . . Pero para hacer el mug cake, fue lo más fácil!  Licué: 1/2 taza de calabaza cocida + 2 claras + estevia liquida + canela + 1 cda de avena molida + polvo para hornear . Puse la mezcla en una taza ☕️ y metí al microondas 2 min y luego 1 minuto más 🎃 De topping use 1 cdita de coco rallado 🥥 y blueberries . . LOVE tonight’s dinner 🍽. I had leftover herb 🌿 butter in the fridge I wanted to use up, along with some pesto in the freezer. I baked the pork chops on bacon and then topped it with the herb butter when it was just about finished. For the side I chopped up some broccoli 🥦 florets, and mushrooms 🍄, and sautéed for a minute in some ghee. Then threw in a bag of riced cauliflower and riced butternut squash with salt and pepper. Then when it was almost done I popped in a couple cubes of pesto 🤤🤤💃. Yum 🤤. First ever @purplecarrotxo meal complete! ✅ Tofu chorizo tacos - and it happens to be #tacotuesday. . My initial thoughts... . 👍PROS: Several delicious plant-based meals with enough gluten-free options to work for me, opportunity to try recipes I may have never thought to try (or was too intimidated), no food waste because everything is pre-portioned, and I still got to prep and cook. Plus, recipes I can keep and make again. . 👎 CONS: Didn’t feel as though the recipe was super clear in terms of what to prep and when / if things should still be cooking while multitasking (“while the tofu is cooking, begin to mix the slaw” - but really this could’ve been done up front), one of my meals is curried cauliflower steak and the cauliflower is missing entirely (defeats the purpose!), nothing on the recipe to indicate what else you should have from the pantry prior to starting (different oils, salt, pepper and how much). . I like to cook and try to experiment with recipes, so this experience was a draw for me. I like being able to have things portioned in one spot, but it equates to about $12 per meal - pricey IMO. . I plan to just pause my shipments until I see a week that has some things I really want to try OR busy weeks when I need things ready to cook without much thought. . Have you tried a meal kit before? 💥Master the Basics💥 — There are countless recipes out there for healthy meals. — There are countless workout programs that have a proven track record for success. — There are certain lifestyle choices that would improve your health and quality of life that seem so easy that they can’t possibly be true. — ✅ Eat whole, minimally processed foods ✅ Fill your plate with real food, mostly plants and not too much. ✅ Drink water ✅ Get 7-9 hours of sleep per night ✅ Strength train a couple of days per week. Do some high intensity cardio a few days per week. Do more non “exercise” related physical activity. — There it is. The blueprint. Now go execute.

SO GOOD ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tonight for dinner I was going solo (hubby worked late and kids just wanted spaghetti), but you better believe I still made my scheduled meal and enjoyed the hell out of it 😋😋😋😋 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🥕 Roasted Carrots with Lemon, Feta, and Cilantro 🌿 Lemon Pesto Zoodles with Shaved Parm 🦃 Teriyaki Turkey ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Insane. Yum. Can not wait for lunch tomorrow!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Roasted Carrots with Lemon Cilantro and Feta  Ingredients: •1 lb sliced carrots •1/4 chopped red onion •1-2 T Walnut oil •Salt/pepper •1/4 tsp Allspice •1/4 c chopped walnuts •Juice of a lemon •Feta cheese •Cilantro ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Directions: •slice carrots in half and chop red onion •drizzle walnut oil and coat veggies well •season with S/P and allspice •bake at 400 for 12 minutes •add chopped walnuts, stir and bake another 10 minutes •remove from oven and sprinkle feta cheese, squeeze lemon, and sprinkle cilantro ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got the Teriyaki Turkey recipe from my girl Erica and it is a new fav and staple for sure! Buying this now. I lost my amazing aunt to this horrible disease. I’ve seen a lot of studies on the effects of sugars (natural or not) and Alzheimer’s. I watched my aunt pass away and I wouldn’t wish passing that way on anyone. I’m reading it for my mom, who can’t remember when Christmas was...in January. Alzheimer’s is extremely prevalent and conventional medicine has no cure, no treatment and no recommendations for prevention of it either. As the author of this book accurately describes, “Alzheimer’s disease robs it’s victims of their very humanity and terrorizes their families”. Who do you know with this disease? I believe it is preventable and curable, but time is of the essence. Alzheimer’s has been called Diabetes Type 3, a disease related to the consumption of sugar and carbohydrates. Some research points to seed oils. Sounds like the American dietary recommendations to me! When is this country going to get a clue?? What we have been doing for 50 years has only fostered epidemic levels of diseases. Alzheimer’s is just one of them. We are NOT powerless in the face of disease. We do have choices. Guys, I am on a kick! A feeling good kick! - My intention this year (all 22 days of this year) has been to be more present and in the moment. I have been working on enjoying where I am right now and not fearing the future. Yeah, I fear the future ... I thought I was pumped about it (and I am) but there's a lot i'm nervous about too! - So what has been so different in these past 22 days? I'll tell ya! - I've always been a morning person (good morning sunshine!) and lately i've adapted a more solid morning routine. I've been journaling almost everyday. I haven't been making myself do "the same thing" everyday, so if I forget to journal one day or don't want to I don't! I've been really focusing on how I perceive things, is it in fear or in love? If it's in fear i'm working on switching that to love. - I'm working on enjoying what I have right now, being grateful for where I am in this moment. I'm spending time with people I love, putting friends and family first, and giving myself space to breathe.
Parmesan and spinach stuffed chicken 😋recipe below:  The outer rub: - 1 tsp paprika - 1/2 tsp salt - 1/4 tsp garlic powder  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl 2. drizzle olive oil over chicken breasts 3. Sprinkle mixture evenly over both sides of each breast 4. Slice pocket into each breast 5. Mix 2 tbsp mayo, 1 1/2 cup of spinach, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, 2 gloves of chopped garlic, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1/2 tsp salt in mixing bowl 6. Stuff each chicken breast with mixture 7. Place in a 9x13 pan and cook uncovered for 25 minutes and 375 ****for this recipe, we used @violife_foods vegan Parmesan, @sirkensingtons mayo, organic chicken and veggies******

I was asked today how my time management skills were?  It took me a few minutes to answer...because at first thought, I would answer by saying  that my time management is pretty darn good.  I mean I have lists. 📋 I check off my tasks. ✅ I accomplish things.  Lots of things in a day. 💯 . BUT, the more I thought about it I realized that sometimes I focus too much on lack of time. . Over the years I have worked on this mentality, but it is still pops up from time to time.  Old habits are hard to change overnight.  It is a continuous journey. . One time management skill that works for me is focusing on SELF-AWARENESS✨. No 2 people work the same way, so knowing your preferences likes, dislikes and needs is valuable when it comes to good time management.  It is worth the time to reflect how you get the best from yourself!! . . I noticed that roasting a big batch of vegetables early in the week saves time for dinners every night.  Plus, then I always have veggies in the fridge for quick healthy lunches or dinners in the go...ultimately allowing more time with friends/family!! 😃 . Well, in the first picture I’m approximately 23 and the second one was from today and I’m currently 49. Now I’m wondering what I would say to my 23 yr old self. To think that I almost did not go on this run... . When I woke up this morning, you name it I had it. . Bad news on bad news, negativity, a feeling of hollow coming from losing control of my entire day before it started, feeling like the victim, if you will- all with one peek at the messages on the phone, sadness trailing from the night before, emotional and physical fatigue, slightly depressed undertone and don’t get me started on the cold weather... . I almost talked myself several times after FINALLY leaving the house! . And it ended up being one of my better #intervaltraining #runs in over 2 months with 2 #tempomiles in the middle 🙏🏻 (This run was a bit like being my son on this swing 💫) . I have to admit I knew that I needed “the run” like medicine and that is what I kept telling myself to get out the door. I knew that it would put my head back on my shoulders. 3 weeks into my @conscious_muscle fat loss protocol and I'm feeling so so so fantastic. I am lifting faster than I have in a long time. I have implemented more cardio into my routine in the form of spinning and I can already feel a massive difference in my metabolic recovery. I'm eating whole foods and feeling lighter than ever because of it. I am living proof that a little bit of discipline goes a long way, and that focus is key. My goal at the beginning of the year was to lose 10 lbs. The number on the scale hasn't changed but my body certainly has. I have to rewrite my goal now because my priorities have shifted. I want to keep losing fat, not focus on the numbers the scale is reading back to me. And that realization is so pivotal for me. I used to be such a rigid person and of course a month later I'd find myself ass deep in cookie butter and white truffle potato chips feeling all kinds of guilt. No more. Rigidity isn't realistic. Consistency, flexibility, and being kind to yourself is. I know this is a super long post but these endorphins are no joke 😂 all I'm saying is: move daily, love always (especially yourself), and eat as close to the earth as possible but be balanced and enjoy yourself when the opportunity arises.
🔥FUNCTIONAL CORE WORKOUT🔥 To get a tighter and stronger core, I rarely perform a crunch 😳 . Instead, I set my body as off balance as possible and allow my deep pelvic floor (transversus abdominus) to stabilize through movement 👍🏼 . Modify the moves above either by putting both feet on the ground or taking out the stability ball 🤔 . Honestly, I never program purely core movements for my clients or my body for two reasons:🤨 1️⃣ It is unnatural for the abdominals to fire without any other body part working 2️⃣ You can save time by doing usual exercise movements in an unbalanced format . You want an intense, full body workout? Get a spade and break up ice. Maintain good athletic posture wile you do this. A small squat, shoulders away from the ears, heart lifted-- without a rib flare-- and core engaged. (BTW, core engagement does not mean "suck in air." More on this later.) Hold the spade with both hands and sit deeper in your squat as you bring the tool up from the ground. Complete the squat when your blade crashes down into the chunks of ice. ⁣ ⁣ The stairs plus the bottom cement slab took me about 45 minutes. I got my heart rate up, I engaged all the major muscles in my body, and I was breathing fresh air as I did it. My arms were shaking, low back muscles all lit up, and delts on fire, too. Essentially, I broke ice to failure. ⁣ ⁣ Using my strength to support my life is one of my highest priorities. As long as I am able bodied, I will make use of my fitness. Plus, I want a farm in my future. I welcome the inconvenience of these laborious tasks as practice. ⁣ ⁣ Strength is actually way more simple than the fitness industry wants us to believe. Yes, strength training is essential. Do this. Ideally, train the whole body, once per week, at a high intensity, with impeccable form, and a skilled facilitator/trainer. (I can help with this!) Take walks. This unglamorous activity is way more beneficial than most people think. Move your body in intentional ways a few times a week, like yoga or any kind of body weight flow. And the final ingredient is to USE YOUR BODY TO SUPPORT YOUR LIFE. I promise you, once you start looking, embodied movement is available EVERYWHERE.

Nothing fancy here, just covering all the bases - protein, fat, carb, veggies, delicious. • • I made the shredded chicken in my instapot (garlic powder, onion powder, drizzle of olive oil and balsamic) cooked for 19 minutes & voila (could also do in crockpot), shredded it, then mixed it with BBQ sauce, stuffed it in a steamed sweet potato with a side of roasted green beans (avocado oil, everything but the bagel seasoning - 450 for 15 minutes. • • Ready in less than 30 minutes and we have leftovers for lunch. I came home to one of my pups with an upset stomach last night 🤢🐕💨 Lucky for him——- I know about digize and how well it works for tummy upset so I paired this with some copaiba (super great for all kinds of inflammation) and rubbed it on his gums and after a little while the stinks stopped and we could all breathe again 🙌🏻

{Working with Corporate Rebels}  I had a speaking gig yesterday and I was asked "what type of woman do you work?" ~  This is a favourite question of mine, because after 11 years of coaching women...I finally nailed it. 😂 ~  I work with corporate women typically in a VP or CEO role, that are secretly or not so secretly rebels at heart. ~  She's sick and tired of the old school ways of getting healthy (restriction/sacrifice/pain) and knows there must be a better way, one that actually feels GOOD.
