The dog had rolled in literal poo, the kids were being kids, which meant they were running behind, fighting, and breaking things, I woke up with a HUGE headache that had nothing to do with the crowler of #snowglobe I had last night, had to change sheets on beds and dry out shoes for school, all before 8 am. . As we’re walking out the door one of the boys hopped off the counter, snagged a cabinet pull and ripped it right off the door 🤷🏻‍♀️ . Today I had to choose joy. Sprinting on a flat surface is a fantastic way to push yourself, but hill sprints add a little extra something to your workout.  They can magically combine traditional sprinting with a form of resistance, which can make you target more muscle groups. Find a hill nearby that provides a slight incline (nothing too steep) and that you can run to the top of in around 30 seconds. Start running on the flat and push yourself to reach the top of the hill as quickly as you can. e absolutely LOVE the holidays! It is one of our favorite times of the year because we get to spend it with all my family and friends!  But, for a lot of people, it can also be a stressful time as you might be rushing around buying presents and getting everything organized. Christmas tends to sneak up on you, leaving you in the last minute panic trying to get everything done. Here are our top 3 tips on how to manage holiday stress and get the most out of Christmas: 1. Lists Are Your Friends  Lists are going to be your lifesaver. Separate your lists into categories such as presents, decorations, food, events, and travel. Write down everything you can possibly think of that you will need to do in relation to these categories, then try to prioritize these from least to most important.  2. Go Shopping Early Or Online It can be super hard to find time to fit this in, in between work, school, Christmas parties, and other events. Take advantage of stores extended hours and go super early in the morning, or late at night. If you are working a lot before the holiday break, then try shopping online! Take Time For Yourself This may seem like such a silly suggestion during the busy season, but trust us it makes a huge difference! For many parents in the digital age, battles over screen time and devices have become a depressing part of family life, and knowing how much is too much has become a moving target. Talk about kids and technology usually tends towards the negative, but it doesn’t have to be so. The internet and video games can be fun, social and provide a new creative outlet for children. But what is safe? The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) still recommends a maximum of one hour of “high-quality programming” for children under 6, but thereafter simply encourages parents to “place consistent limits on the time spent using media” and designate screen-free time as a family. Research tells us that kids not having access to the digital world has a negative impact on kids. It's all about finding the right amount with a holistic approach.
