I love these two dearly, and they are having a baby! I’m very excited for them, and so grateful they let me take some pics!
Had my growth scan today and little Lincoln is gigantic. But also he is a spitting image of his momma, me, as a baby. Those cheeks! He should be here within two weeks! I’m excited to meet my sweet baby boy. #lincolnthomas #minime #babytime #havingababy #ultrasound #comparison
Jambo! Baby Changing Baskets are now all good to go on the website. No more plastic needed with these cuties and instead of chucking away after potty training, you can just use for something else as they are so pretty. #ecobaby . . . #nomoreplastic #tobsandror #baby #babybump #babybasket #babychangingbasket #mumlife #bolgabasket #naturalnursery #bohobaby #projectnursery #nurserydecor #littleinteriors #pregnant #parentingtheshitoutoflife #sustainableliving #havingababy #nappychanging #clothnappies
End this year ready for a new one! This four week program is a workshop for women who have been abandoned by a partner during their pregnancies and would like to begin to heal and move forwards in every area of their lives! This support group gives women a chance to meet and speak with other women going through similar situations and grow together through activities and discussions making them feel less alone. Kandy Dolor will be interacting with all members of the group live and will also be covering every problematic issue imaginable that a single pregnant woman can possibly go through, while teaching different coping mechanisms and helping women to release their frustrations while building emotional and mental strength. This is a program that has been specifically designed for single pregnant women who are feeling anger, hurt, heartache, sadness, abandonment, betrayal, rejection, rage, bitterness and negative emotions caused by an ex leaving them pregnant and would to move on from the experience and improve their lives. LIMITED SPACES! You have probably heard of this by now, but yes, some people may eat their placentas... I spoke with Meghan Holohan at today.com about it and you can copy/paste this link for more details. Basically, it’s not recommended by The CDC, but some people do it hoping it will help with some postpartum concerns, including postpartum depression. We don’t have any good evidence supporting it, but if you decide to do it, make sure you let your OBGYN and Pediatrician know 🤓 https://www.today.com/health/should-you-eat-your-placenta-what-know-about-organ-t137708 #placenta #todayshow #eat #miracle #postpartum #postpartumdepression #obgyn #havingababy #shouldi #callingdrgreves #baby #womenshealth #cdc #noevidence #obgyn #pediatrician
Breastfeeding... it’s such a journey... full of joy for many but full of challenges for so many more. This week my posts have been all about surrendering. Breastfeeding is one massive lesson on letting go and just surrendering. Letting go of time, expectations of ourselves and our babies. So much advice around breastfeeding is so very wrong. I remember with my twins being told to feed them every 3 hours for 30 minutes. I’m sure those of you that know anything about breastfeeding will know exactly how much of a struggle feeding was with them for the first few weeks until I realised.... I needed to bin the advice and go with the babies. Breastfeeding is relentless, it can go on for hours, it’s exhausting, babies can feed for 10 minutes or 2 hours, they cluster feed but sometimes go hours and hours. It’s round the clock. We have no control of when or where. In those first few weeks we can’t plan our days. I’ve loved feeding but to be successful at feeding... you just need to get your head down and accept breastfeeding for what it is. I think often it’s the expectations vs the realities of feeding where the challenges are. I’ve been supporting women to breastfeed for 9 years now and I can’t tell you all the horrendous advice I’ve heard and a lot of it stems on the concept of control. That we can control how much and when. When we let go and understand why babies need to feed for hours including during the night, then we can accept this and are likely to increase our chances to breastfeed. If you’d like to know more, there’s a breastfeeding bundle available in the Academy which provides so much information and solutions to most of the breastfeeding problems many of us have. You can find this here https://birth-and-baby-academy.teachable.com/p/breastfeedingbundle or click on the bio. Do message me if you’d like more info. This week’s theme has been about surrendering. So many of us struggle to surrender and let go because we have such a need to control. Me very much included. And it’s this constant perfectionism to be in control that means we reside in our heads and can’t go into our bodies. Yet for labour, birth, breastfeeding, parenting we need to go inwards and let go of any ideals of perfection. When we resist letting go - that’s where the challenges lie. I know this all too well. There’s so many tools around now to help us...mindfulness, meditation, EFT, yoga, and so many more that can help us. Part of mindset is the ability to train our brains to manage overthinking/worrying/anxiety. This is so useful for everyday life as well as going through this transition. So what do you do to help you to let go? What tools do you use? How often do you practice? What happens when you don’t? “There is always a moment in any kind of struggle when you one feels in full bloom. Vivid. Alive. One might be blown to bits in such a moment and still be at peace. To be such a person or to witness anyone of transcendent presence is to know what is human, is linked, by comparison, to what is divine.” -Alice Walker. Your baby is emerging as you are blossoming open like beautiful flowers do - and that is why I love the the flowers blossoming as a wonderful visualization for your #birth . 📷: @brisbanebirthphotography. What was or is your best visual to help you give birth? #vaginalbirth #birthisbeautiful #thisisbirth #crowning

Not only do I work with new parents after they have a baby, but I also teach classes for expecting parents. My classes help to prepare for those early days and weeks after baby arrives. . . . To make my classes even more impactful and fun I recently took a New Parent Educator training with CAPPA (taught by @abcdoulaservice and @forloveofbaby ) I learned so much! I have classes coming up with both @honeyformoms and @jbabydetroit and I can’t wait to see how expecting parents feel about the new activities and tips! Photo credit #unsplash @picsea
Good Morning Everyone!! It is almost Friday! Who else feels like this? 😂 Honestly, most of the time I'm just winging it...I want to do so many things just don't have enough time in a day! But it is okay. Motherhood is overwhelming and when you juggle full time job & trying to make your dream reality at the same time with family time & trying to keep the house in order (that is definitely not happening 🤣.)..it is definitely overwhelming. So Mummies & mums-to-be...it is okay to have a messy house, it is okay to lock yourself in the toilet to have a minute of sanity...it is okay to have an afternoon out for yourself, it is okay just to lounge with your new baby on your chest and get lost in his/her features while watching your baby sleep. Don't be hard on yourself and don't be hard on other mums...they have their challenges as well. Happy Thursday Everyone!! . . #mumlife #motherhood #parenthood #parenting #havingababy #havingkids #mumshustlehard #businessmumnetwork #baby #toddler #shoplocal #herts #hertfordshire #squidgeandsmudgehandmade
