Intense back bend with #dragonflag! I saw people also like to post how they get into these crazy positions so I thought I would too! Again inspired by @chessnocow he seems to like the same moves I do quite a lot. With the super #bendy @shannon_kt took a few tries but we figured out the balance portion. I want to try it some more to get a longer hold at the peak and see how we might change it up. Location: @multnomahathleticclub
ꜰɪɴᴅɪɴɢ ʟɪɴᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴇɴᴇʀɢʏ 🙏 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Single Leg L-Pose Handstands are such a great way to build up your strength, open your shoulders and develop balance and body awareness as a side product. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔹Walk your feet up the wall, straighten your legs and find a 90 degree bend at the waist. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔹Stack your hands, shoulders and hips. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔹Press the sole of one foot into the wall. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔹Take your other foot vertical and point through your toes.
When everyone talks, don’t listen. The best thing to do is believe in yourself, have patience and work for something you believe in. Take chances, enjoy life, experience joy and expand your horizons. None of us really know what any of this is about anyway. Happy to be me.
Keep working on those goals! Abhyasa - steady, consistent effort/practice. Vairagya - detachment or surrender. . Yoga requires finding that balance (pun fully intended 🤓) between effort and surrender. In my experience, this balance is different for everyone, and it takes time to find the right amount of effort/surrender. . I definitely was not born to do this. I don’t have a gymnastics background, and while I did do ballet for a few years as a little kid, I was pretty terrible at it 🤣🙈 I was the kid not listening and spinning around by herself in the corner 💃🏻😂 . P.S. This is a screenshot! I fell out a couple seconds later. Just keepin’ it real ✌🏼🤣 Next goals are 1) more core engagement to stop my ribs flaring out, 2) holding this for 10 seconds consistently, and 3) puppy press 🐶 . #yoga#practicepracticepractice#handstands#straighthandstand#inversions#goaldigger

Tomorrow is already day 9 of #aloasana101 and the pose is: Setu Bandha Sarvangasana (bridge pose.) 🙏🏼 ⠀ Yesterday I discussed how backbends really aided in helping to open my very tight psoas muscle. “The psoas major is the biggest and strongest player in a group of muscles called the hip flexors: together they contract to pull the thigh and the torso toward each other.” -yoga international. ⠀ A happy psoas muscle=a happy back body since it affects our posture and helps to stabilize the spine. Bridge pose is a great posture that helps to gently stretch the psoas muscle. ⠀ I posted 3 photos of myself in different variations of bridge. The first is traditional: I am on my back with the knees bent and the feet flat on the floor-hip-width apart. My heels are pulled in close to my sitting bones and my chin is slightly pulled away from the sternum. ⠀ In the second photo, since I was a bit more warmed up, I was able to grab onto my heels comfortably. In the third photo, since I was warm, I decided to take the leg lifted variation. ⠀ Bridge pose is considered a restorative posture by many, but restorative does not necessarily mean “easy.” Bridge is restorative because of its many health benefits. Enjoy this pose! 💕 And happy Humpday. Xoxo ⠀ Hosts: @cece.carson @leighyogipilot @palmbeachyogi @cathymadeoyoga ⠀ Sponsors: @aloyoga @alo.moves . . 📸: @d4shooter

Some late night shenanigans, playing with lots of back bends and strengthening the back muscles lately. Been working on this for a bit now, I was inspired by @thepublisherswife as she had sooo much control and grace when she does it 😍
//urban sprawl// Accidentally deleted some premium hoop action from from yesterday so instead ill share w you a random but important piece of my work day. Its out of frame but nothin like a nice solid pole in the ground ( or bus) to use as leverage against some compacted haunches. Also a tiny flight. I was a bit spatially challenged but i was confident enough to invert wo harming the passing human behind me. Not sure they even noticed lol. Need to remember to let that head drop..anyway hoping to get some good footage soon since the weathers getting play friendly again 😎 . . . . #hauches#stretch#handstands#handstand#handstandseveryday#inversions#innocentbystander#dolloplife#sunny#vibes#core#fit#break#acro#bendy#funatwork
My presses are quite inconsistent, yesterday was a good day and managed a toe tap at the end. . It has been hard going back to practice since I came back to a full teaching schedule, so pockets of time whenever I can. Hopefully next week on, I can schedule some time for that. On the other hand, happy to see familiar faces in classes, know new people and to share doing what I like.
