Squat depth matters!! Squatting is a compound movement using primarily 3 muscle groups: •Glutes •Hamstrings •Quadriceps However, if your squat is lacking in depth, then your glutes are not able to be efficiently engaged. If you’re not sure your squat is hitting that parallel sweet-spot, then record yourself doing a few reps and see for yourself! If you aren’t able to hit a parallel position, decrease the weight until you’re able to consistently hit proper parallel depth. Also, you don’t need to dip below the parallel position in order to do an effective squat!
