A fairway with a graduated reward. Par 5 7th at Bonnie Doon - drive to the top of the hill near the right fairway bunker for a nice level lie to layup from, but a bigger hit past the hill gets an extra 50m of run bringing the green within reach but maybe not from a level lie.
Working on my own putting today. Sun finally came out. I was a little off on my start line and speed. First drill was using @eminentgolf for alignment then one of my favorite drills beat tour average from @aimpointgolf @mygameforge Practicing with purpose is the only way to go.
The official first round of the 2019 golf season in the books! Today, we played Pine View Golf Course located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Conditions on the course were a little wet, but the course still played very well. Nevertheless, today was a great day for golf, and it’s only going to get better from here on out.
Our #camino#training Day 23 added another 20k for a total of 390kms so far. So close to our goal of 402k. #weather was sunny and just beautiful averaging mid 40s. Not a single cloud in the sky. We hiked alongside marathoners before heading to the village of #groveport. Today we experienced a variety of terrains. Side walks with car noises, residential areas buzzing with homeowners busy #spring cleaning, well worn dirt paths, rocky patches, soft wet grass, and even very nice green grass. We were a little nervous cutting through the golf course but a friendly lone golfer put us at ease. We began to relax and was enjoying the beauty of the manicured golf course when out of nowhere, we heard a loud “FORE” as a golf ball whizzed over my head! We laughed it off and continued on our way! Stopped by the old #ohio Erie Canal #lock#22 to inspect the inactive lock. What a marvel it still is. What an ingenious way to traverse goods and people around in the 1800s. Enjoyed the hike around Walnut Woods Metro Park with its tall sweetgum trees and tall white pine 🌲 tree trails. We tested our knowledge at identifying the different varieties of conifers grown around the park. We came up with pines, firs, lots of spruce, and some cedar. Rob learned that white pine tree is a good #expectorant! #hehe Oh yes, and a couple of stoic deer 🦌 eyeballed us as we strolled past. It never gets old here! On our way back we passed through the Main part of historic Groveport. Many well kept historic old homes lined Main Street. Stunning! Some aches and pains reminding us that this is not just a walk in the park. As we labored on through them, I remind myself that “we get what we work for and not what we wish for”. Rob has a slightly different version involving two hands! We sauntered on. Rob is #happy now with #grilledcheese and #tomatosoup soup! I am content with noodle soup and apple pie! #buencamino#crazypilgrim#elcaminopeople#caminodesantiango#putinwork#peregrino
