Whenever I get a new idea & it really sticks, I become crazy obsessed. ⠀ ⠀ I can't wait to see the end result & I just want it all to happen RIGHT NOW! For a while I throw away almost everything to focus solely on that one thing. ⠀ ⠀ Then I start to get frustrated because things aren't happening fast enough.. My house is a riot & I'm asking myself what the point is in my existence. ⠀ ⠀ Sounds familiar?⠀ ⠀ Yeah.. That's happened to me a lot! ⠀ So I have to remind myself that I need to slow down.. I'm already going 100 miles faster than everyone else but still I feel like I'm not doing enough.⠀ ⠀ I can be so terrible at turning something I love doing into the most stressful job because I set way too high expectations of myself. ⠀ ⠀ It's important to slow down, it really is. ⠀ To allow yourself to feel & enjoy the process of making that idea become a reality. Good things take time. Have patience & remember to enjoy each day.
At the end of 'Today Last Year,' we'd arrived in Sossusvlei, oddly the stop I was initially least excited about but knew no roadtrip of Namibia would be complete without. For many, it is THE The of their Namibia tour. Here is me, lit by campfire with the sun setting behind me. I had cajoled our way into a improbably-lucky space at the camp inside the first control gate (despite them being fully booked) so that we could get the extra hour and be IN the dunes, ON the dunes for sunrise. Because, I was pretty sure the odds were slim either of us would ever be back to this Nowhere-Land and I was dead set to make it count. . . . . #sossusvleidesertcamp#sossusvlei#namibia#desert#desertskies#camping#roadtrip#sunset#campfire#firelight#makeitcount#gobigorgohome #dontunderestimatesmallstubbornwomen
