Bulking does a body good!!!I have managed to put on 5/6 lbs in the off season and add mass to my legs and shoulders and drop a 1/2 inch in my waist. I weigh more,but my body feels tighter and my muscles feel more full. My workouts are better and I'm recovering faster. This is going to be an amazing lifting season. Found this pic on the right and had to share. I had just had a baby and was use to eating for “two”. Breaking the cycle of big portions was my biggest challenge. For 9 months I indulged myself with “feel good” meals, late night sweets, and salty snacks. You see, I snapped back after my first child but the second one—not so much. With the first one I thought I won the lottery of the genetics pool so I over indulged my food desires the second time around. After the second birth, I was 60lbs overweight. To lose weight I did what I assume most people do... I started walking, tried my best (but not consistently) to eat well, I broke out my Taebo tapes on occasion when I had the time. I was also pumping and breast feeding routinely, as I was told that breastfeeding would burn lots of calories and help my stomach contract. Insert side eye... It took years of figuring out what works and finding what my body responded to. Glad I kept getting back on the wagon each time I fell off. #squats this morning felt really good. I did fail on my 4th rep of 315 but I'm not mad about that. I had to drop it not due to my muscles failing but I started to get really light headed and I did not want to pass out. I've been noticing this since I've been back lifting and I think it's due to just having o e kidney now. Because of this I need to take extra time between sets and not try to force too much. The good news though is my kidney will get used to it and actually grow bigger to take over the function of the missing one. I also did some leg extensions and curls. What keeps me motivated ? Motivation comes and goes but for me its about consistantly having fun with yourself and your workouts. I don’t focus on the small goals of losing 5 lbs or 10 lbs or whatever the case may be because our looks and our bodies will always be changing. Sometimes I want to eat some chips or snack on those cookies and I’ve learned to ALLOW myself because everything in moderation is fine. Beauty is skin deep but being “fit” is to the bone. Thats what keeps me motivated. Its beyond what my body looks like. Its what my body FEELS like. I like to run fast, lift heavy, jump high and contort myself into weird poses. The endorphins i get from all of these things push me to go harder every day. It is truly a lifestyle that you must slowly work your way into. I promise its worth it 😊 😊
study break AB ATTACK 🌟The two things that get me through looong bouts of studying are SNACKS & BREAKS! I get up at least once every thirty minutes, even if it’s just standing up to do a lil stretching flow. When I don’t think I have time to get outside or go to the gym, I make sure to do a few of these in the day to clear my mind & keep the endorphins floowwwing🌟 FIT NERD TIP: Moving your body & exercising gets your blood flow pumping, which can seriously help when it comes to retaining info & keeping your energy levels high. Set your timer for 30 mins/1 hour and give this combo a go next time you’re prepping for an exam !!
