✨Sledgehammer therapy should totally be a thing. ⚒ 😍 Demo-ed some old cabinets that were in our garage when we bought the house today, and it was fun! ✨If you’re asking “why tf is this on a gym page?” ...The answer is because the reason it was fun was because it was easy. ✨Swinging a sledgehammer didn’t feel foreign or heavy, because I’m strong. 💪🏼People tend to think working out is solely for how you look...wrong! ❌ ✨Being fit and strong literally makes life easier. Tasks like this and holding kids for a long time (shit is no joke, man) and never needing help leaving Home Depot and not getting winded walking up stairs...that’s why fitness is awesome. ✨So screw a certain “look.” Work out so that if you have to lift a car off a baby one day, you can! He will be starting his triathlon adventure soon and wanted to get analysis of his current health and fitness levels. Well we wrapped up the 2019 Open with a bang on Friday. Thanks to everyone for coming out and showin’ up for that one! That was a workout that tested the mind even more than the body. We had some outstanding performances once again. Great job to Natatie and Nathalie on those chest to bar pull ups. We had a few of you participating in your very first Crossfit Open, congrats it only gets better 😀 Thanks for all the delicious food and drinks you guys are the best! It is always a rewarding time when we can celebrate all the hard work with our friends in fitness. For this weeks overview of March 25th through 30th 2019, we start off Monday off with “Wall-E”, an AMRAP style workout consisting of Single Arm Dumbbell Push Press, Double Unders and Wallballs. Tuesday look forward to practicing Snatch technique before completing “Inner Tube” which consists of Power Snatches, Toes to Bar and Burpees. On Wednesday we see a workout with three AMRAP 5’s and 5 minutes of rest between. In this session called “Dead Broke” there is a Rowing buy in; directly into Deadlifts and Box Jump Overs in the remaining time. Then Thursday’s workout might give you “Helmet Hair” working on Handstand, Pullups, walking Lunges and Situps. For Friday, “Macho Mile” is on deck. There will be running and rounds of “Macho Man” complex (1 Round of Macho Man is 3 Power Cleans, 3 Front Squats and 3 Push Jerks). Finally on Saturday we finish the week out in teams of 3 completing an AMRAP of Assault Bike, Dumbbell Snatches, Double Unders and Rope Climbs called “Rope-a-Dope”. CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course Another milestone added to my fitness journey. First of all, I'd like to thank my parents @jnvjasv and @josearminvirata for making this possible and their undying support in whatever endeavor I pursue. Officially a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer as of today! What an amazing experience the two-day course was. Learning about @crossfit methodology along with the basic concepts and foundational movements was very informational, thanks to the superb course execution by @juria8 and @simonbarryjones. The course was also made extra special because I was able to share the experience with 16 wonderful batchmates who I'll always try to stay in touch with. Congratulations to those who passed! ‼️HOW TO ACHIEVE GROWTH RAPIDLY‼️ . We see it everyday, one therapist debating against another about a certain viewpoint. Most of the time, it’s a game of tennis, a long rally with an eventual self-proclaimed winner. But does it have to be this way? . The evolution of evidence and our understanding of how people move and work tells us that there is more than one answer to a problem. This is typically true for most things in life. . In my opinion, there is nothing worse for the mind than constantly battling someone else’s viewpoint without appreciating it. . Being open-minded is key to GROWTH. This means, allowing the other persons viewpoint to reach into the processing centre of your brain 🧠 for analysis. . What are they saying? Can you understand where they are coming from? Can you join their debating team and argue against your opinion? What did you learn? . This is will allow you to see things through a different lens and gain a ton of perspective. This will also help you to engage with a diverse range of patients. . Finally, after learning more about the other persons viewpoint, what can you now say of yours? . You can achieve growth rapidly, the trick is to never stop.
