Kwarkbrood met frambozen en blauwe bes Wat heb je nodig?  300 gram magere kwark *  2 eieren  100 gram speltbloem  50 gram speltmeel  theelepel bakpoeder  zoetmiddel naar smaak ** 200 gram bevroren frambozen & blauwe bessen  Meng in een kom de magere kwark en de eieren goed door elkaar. Doe in  een andere bak alle droge ingrediënten (behalve het fruit). Doe het  kwarkmengsel erbij en zoet, indien nodig, nog wat extra. Doe de helft  van het mengsel in een bakblik (ingevet of belegd met bakpapier) en  strooi er de helft van de bessen overheen. Herhaal dit nog een keer en  eindig dus met een laagje bessen.  Bak in de airfryer op 160 graden in 35 minuten (wel even afdekken als  het te donker kleurt!), in een voorverwarmde oven op 180 graden in 55  minuten. Let op: dit kan per oven/airfryer verschillen. Het kwarkbrood  is gaar als een prikker er droog uitkomt. 「バリ島の懐かしい味」 Indonesian cuisine, "bakso"…home made! ・ ・ バリ島でよく食べてたバクソ。 いわゆる肉団子スープです。 あまりに食べたくて食べたくて、我慢できず自宅で初挑戦。 鶏ガラとハーブとスパイスを2時間ほど煮込んだスープは、手作りならではの無化調で。 (まー、食べる時に使う市販のインドネシアンサンバルには化学調味料入ってるはずだけど。笑) ・ ・ はー♡美味しかったー!! 夫と一緒に一心不乱に食べてしまいました。 インドネシアの人はそのまま食べたり、麺を入れたりするのが一般的だと思うのですが… 今回我が家ではランチ用だったので、バクソだけでは足りずにジャスミンライスをガッツリ用意。 ・ ・ 現地では肉団子にタピオカ粉みたいなのをたっぷり使っていて(カサ増しなのかな…)もっとプルンと滑らかで、おでんの練り物みたいにムチムチ質感です。(かまぼこみたいな質感てゆーのかな) 私はあれがあまり好きじゃなく、もうちょっと粗い肉っぽい素朴な質感の肉団子が好きなので、粉控え目でこんな感じにしてみました。 ・ ・ 宗教の関係もあり、 鶏肉の肉団子が多かったような? たまに牛肉の肉団子もあったかな? 私が1番美味しいと思ったのは、田舎の山奥の小さなワルンで食べた豚肉団子のバクソ。 珍しくあまり滑らかではない素朴な手作り肉団子には軟骨なんかも入ってて、歯応えも素敵。 村に住むヒンドゥー教のバリ人向けのローカル店でした。(バリヒンドゥーは豚肉OK) あれは絶品だったなぁ! ・ ・ 今回はそれをイメージして、豚肉+鶏のひざ軟骨をミンチにして肉団子にしています。 ・ ・

So here’s my 1st recipe on feed for “nutella stuffed french toast” with hersheys chocolate syrup ...what you will be needing 1. Sandwich bread ( you can use regular bread as well ) (3 slices of regular bread) 2. Nutella  3. Eggs (1-2) 4. Milk ( 1/4th cup  5. Sugar ( 1tbsp would be enough , or add according to your sweettooth :p) 6. Vanilla essence ( 1-2 drops) METHOD :- Take 3 slices of bread and spread nutella in between them ( just like you make a sandwich) and cut it in two triangles. For wet ingredients take a bowl add eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla essence and mix them well . Now soak nutella sandwich into a mixture and coat it well from all 3 sides and shallow fry them until golden brown , cook it from all sides ... ......Your french toast is ready to be served , for better taste serve it with chocolate syrup.... LE JEÛNE INTERMITTENT ————————————————————– . Est ce que le jeûne intermittent est un moyen pour perdre du poids ? . . La réponse est : non. Il n’y a pas de changement de composition corporelle si tu fais un jeûne ou pas. Il n’y aura pas de différence sur la perte de poids ou sur ta croissance musculaire. . . Le mettre en pratique est juste une question purement psychologique ! . . Beaucoup de personne saute le petit déjeuner par habitude (et manque de temps), et pratique donc le jeûne intermittent. Leur métabolisme est habitué. . Pour les personnes ne pratiquant pas le jeûne et consommant naturellement 3 repas par jour. Attention à la pratique du jeûne qui peut être difficile à adapter. . Si tu as réellement envie de le mettre en pratique, prend le temps de décaler petit à petit ton premier repas de la journée au lieu de supprimer ton repas d’un seul coup ! Tu risques de perturbé ton métabolisme et créer de mauvaise répercussion derrière. . . Si tu es actif le matin : il a une augmentation de la dépense énergétique, donc le jeûne n’est pas réellement conseillé. . Here we have it everyone, my homemade salt body scrub! It is made with coconut oil, organic and local salt from Cape Verde salt mines on the island of Sal, dried and finely chopped blood orange peel, finely chopped locally grown mallow (an herb), sweet orange essential oil and vanilla oil. It’s been a while since I made this and I forgot the proportions. It is one cup salt and 1/2 cup oil. I used 1 cup of oil instead and had to make a double batch but it’s ok because it will last me for a while. I’m going to let this sit for about 3 days so that oil can become infused with the ingredients then I’ll use it. I wish you guys could smell this, it has a delicious vanilla and orange scent. * * * A little word on some difficulties that I’ve encountered. To make body scrubs you have to use a carrier oil. There are many options given when you search, from jojoba, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, olive oil and even canola oil. Out of all these options canola is the most affordable but because I associate it so heavily with cooking oil I just couldn’t see myself using it. Same goes for olive oil, but I have used it a couple of times. Out of all the options sweet almond oil and coconut oil are the best and most affordable option for my preferences. Since being here in CV I’ve made body scrubs many times but sometimes I do run into difficulties. There are times that this coconut oil, which is 500 ML costs about $5.30,(I’m not factoring in the current exchange rate for the sake of simplicity)and is a good price, is available. However there are other times of the year where this kind of coconut oil is not available anywhere here in SV. Sometimes for months at a time. There will be other brands of the same size but for almost twice the price about $8.45-8.95. Furthermore these oils do not come from Africa. They are imported through the EU, Brasil, and the one that I used today from Sri Lanka. I found this to be very frustrating because these are things that exist in

When I woke up this morning I was seriously craving pasta and chicken. I did a quick scan of the potential ingredients that I had at home then I went out to buy the ones I would need. They were: chicken breasts, red peppers, green olives and spinach. Here are the results... pasta with chicken, daikon radish, carrots, spinach and green olives. Process: first I cut seasoned and browned the chicken and set it aside. Next I sautéed the radish and carrots and set them aside. Then I sautéed onions, tomatoes, and red peppers, added chicken, carrots and daikon radish. I added about one cup of white wine and boiling pasta water to make the sauce. I let it simmer for about 7 minutes while the pasta was cooking. Then I combined the sauce with the pasta in a pot, added spinach and olives, gave it a few turns until the spinach wilted and it was done. [SWIPE] to see the pasta sauce while it was simmering after all the ingredients had been combined. I am the self-proclaimed “pasta specialist” in our family. What do you guys think? It was a great day for us here. Menelik is feeling much better than this morning and even though we did do home lessons, I took it easy on him and only gave him some math problems to solve. After all it has been 4 weeks since our last lessons and it’s ok to start slow. Now on to dinner... this is from yesterday and we have fresh tuna, potatoes and collard greens hash with rice. Sunday dinner ... my go to quick and easy meal. Lentils! I made it vegan with sautéed onions, tomatoes and boiled potatoes. I used the boiled lentils left over from this meal to put in yesterday’s guisado. Bon Appetit! * * * * *
Dinner time ... tonight we have another traditional Cape Verdean dish which is called “guisado.” It is made with meat and vegetables (potatoes, carrots, cabbage, yucca etc.) I am putting my personal twist on the traditional, as always. My version has beef which I browned in the pan first with potatoes, cabbage and lentils. Now lentils are not usually a guisado ingredient but I had some leftover and put it right in. Here it is everyone... Japanese soufflé cheesecake!!!! It came out really good and the cake tasted delicious with light and fluffy texture. I looked through a few different recipes before choosing this one. I chose it primarily because the recipe called for using a 9 inch round pan which are most commonly sold in the stores in the area where we live. I also chose it because the recipe provided very clear instructions along with pictures of each of the cooking steps as a visual aid. I was nervous to make this cake because it was my first time, but I’m glad to have found a recipe that gave clear instructions and helpful tips, making it almost impossible to fail. Sunday dinner... chicken leg quarters which were browned, then topped with sautéed red onions, cherry tomatoes and red peppers, drizzled with one cup of white wine (I used moscato but it can be any variety)over the top and finished in the oven. Today in my kitchen we have SENEGALESE food! This dish is called “Poisson Yassa” or fish Yassa, and I used salmon in my version, with baked potatoes. See recipe link below 👇🏾. I did not use Maggi powder in mine, the recipe said it was optional. Today the spotlight is on my love and biggest culinary inspiration by far, Chef Joao. This dish was cooked 6 years ago in September 2012. It is an original dish of his own creation that he called “Ras Salmon Papaya.” The first picture is the finished product and the second picture is a process shot. As you see in the second picture, he baked the salmon INSIDE the papaya on low heat for a few hours, then he used the papaya as a serving dish adding rice and fries for the final presentation. How is that for creative plating guys? Even though all these years have passed I still remember this dish clearly and can you tell that it is the most delicious salmon dish I have had in my life. You can feel the passion that he has for cooking in every dish that he makes.
