“The Valley Food + Farm Collective is meant to be a hub and a gathering place, to have the education piece, to have the farmers, the community, and the chefs gathered under one roof.” @bonnie__friesen - If you believe in the power of food to build community, create experiences and build meaningful relationships, please consider supporting our @kickstarter! “Food is a portal into culture and it should be treated as such.”— Chaun Le from freelymagazine.com . . . I wholeheartedly agree that food can transport us to different part of the world and expose us to these cultures. . . . Food is such an emotionally filled medium. This is one of the main reason why I offer “Dreamy Nangka (jackfruit)” into my collection. . . This fruit always sparks such a magnetic and lively conversation from folks who are familiar with the fruit; especially those who grew up with it. It just create this immediate connection and I ❤️ it!! . . How about you, what type of food transports you home? . . . . 🎥: piping our second layer of dreamy nangka (jackfruit) 📸: jackfruit from indiamart.com . . . . . . . . #jackfruit#behindthescene#foodculture#culture#foodheritage#diversity#bonbons#chocolatemaking

A very special visitor today! My Dad has been resistant to "healthy" food my whole life - priding himself on being low maintenance, he's known for heating up some canned soup or a quick snack of cheese and crackers. That's great for convenience, but terrible for energy levels and mental performance! Having MS, it's extra important he gets varied nutrients and high quality fats (BONE BROTH) to protect the myelin sheath that's compromised with his condition. Nervous system function and auto immune disease can be complicated topics to understand, but food choices are the foundation of how both operate on a daily basis. So it's music to my ears (and heart) that my Dad is now OFFICIALLY a health-food cheerleader! We created a place @primalsantacruz where even the biggest critics have become fast fans. Thank you Dad, for always believing in me and encouraging me to chase my dreams! One of the biggest has always been to make you proud; the fact it comes through providing you and the world healthier food choices, is a WIN-WIN. . . . Grateful AF. ❤️❤️ . . . #vitaltheory#msawareness
Teriyaki Chicken Thigh with Stir Fried Vegetable Noodles. I know it should probably (almost certainly) be served with rice but some times you go to the Asian Supermarket & have to use up all the Chinese vegetables you got. Still, can't beat Teriyaki Chicken Thighs. Crispy skin & sticky sauce! Champion! Also, one pan that will definitely need a soak* *absolutely no chance it's getting washed up tonight.

Como dijo el religioso norteamericano John Dewey "Lo que ocurre en el pasado vuelve a ser vivido en la memoria". Todas y cada una tiene su historia. Tarde de revisar cajones y recuerdos... #megustalagastronomia#cuandosalimosdecasablog
@corylakeinsurance and I have been married for 15 years. When he asked for my hand, my parents’ greatest concern was whether or not he was prepared to live with the demands of my day-to-day battle with Type 1 Diabetes. This most private and challenging part of our lives has evolved into our shared mission. Diabetes has morphed from a single, unpreventable, rare disease to a collection of preventable, chronic conditions and a global health crisis. We CAN reverse this. There used to a clear distinction between two forms of Diabetes: “juvenile” (unpreventable, incurable, fatal without insulin therapy) and “adult-onset” (preventable, usually diagnosed after age 30, with a reduction in symptoms achievable through diet and physical fitness). Today, the terms “Type 1” and “Type 2” are used because “adult-onset” is now diagnosed in adolescence. Declines in quality food production coupled with increases in food deserts have changed the disease. Cory and I believe that in this context, without demands for change and concrete steps to revolutionize our food culture and establish fundamental rights within it, type 2 is virtually unpreventable and as fatal as its once more severe counterpart. In conversation with one leading pediatric endocrinologist, we learned the presentation of symptoms and required treatments for children diagnosed with Type 2 is now clinically the same as Type 1. We have identified an extraordinary partner in @bgctc, collaborated with incredible physicians with years of targeted data and program development, and engaged minds across a range of related fields, from food science to distribution. We are just getting started. We are determined to make history. #foodculture#fooddeserts#foodinsecurity#globalepidemic#diabetes#diabetesprevention#crisis#nutrition#childhoodobesity#globalneed#foodrevolution#initative#experience#civilrights#commongood#healthandwellness#greatfuturesstarthere#loveandmarriage
Grounded at home with baby so the tapau situation when you wait for food at home. 'Pan meen' - i don't think there's an English name for this dish so if you like noodles and want to order it in Malaysia, learn the Cantonese name for this 😂 Minced pork, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, fried anchovies in a light tasty broth. Yum! . #noodleworship#noodlelifting#totastemaker
