Taking videos of your lifts is not only useful for bragging about your gainz on social media 😜. It is also useful for checking form and technique.  I’m not ashamed to admit that I can be a bit of a ‘motor moron’ on occasion, so taking and reviewing video helps me keep form creep in check.⠀ ⠀ During a recent workout, I watched the video I’d taken during my first set of the seated press, and noticed that my grip was too narrow, causing my elbows to flair and make my forearms less vertical than they should be. ⠀ ⠀ On the next set, I made a small grip width adjustment by moving my hands out a bit wider, and that made a big difference in how the lift looked and felt. Today's verryyy adjusted workout because the weights I usually use here we're buried in Christmas things besides these plates and a KB that wasn't what I wanted today😅 Ended up doing upper body instead of legs since adjusting to lighter weight for upper is easier. Not going to lie I was a little salty and wanted to say forget it when I couldn't do what I wanted. butttt.. I remembered that I'm always saying do what you gotta do to get where you wanna go soo I did 😁 I got the workout in. So much of how we make our decisions is just our mindset! back at Lessys, Coach got my shoulders on fire 🔥 but starting to see some changes to my upper body recently which feels good. MED BALL FULL BODY CIRCUIT💦 [swipe + save to sweat]  Happy hump day, fam! Are you ready to tone that bod? This is a strength cardio circuit, so it’s designed to work your metabolically burning calories while preserving muscular tone.  Strong Methods 📝 • Perform each exercise exerting 70-80% of your maximum effort. • Keep your core braced and tight (tips for this in my recent YouTube video). • Aim to rest as little as possible in between exercises • Perform each exercise for a duration that challenges you. Ex: 60-90 seconds would be challenging for me, but perhaps 20-30 seconds is your ideal work time. • If you’re an advanced trainer, aim for a 1:3 ratio, meaning for every second of work, rest for half of the time. • Similarly, if you’re an intermediate trainer aim for a 1:2 ratio, and for novice aim for 1:1. It may even make you think there is no way you could get to that point. . I’m here to be the example and the proof that is NOT true! . I was a beginner just like you. I had no athletic ability and I had limiting beliefs that I would never get there. . ❌It didn’t happen overnight. . ❌It took a lot of hard work and consistency. . ❌It took shutting down the limiting beliefs in my head that tried to tell me it wasn’t possible. . If you’re looking for a way to make your ab workout more interesting then try incorporating these moves into your routine. Also I filmed it in the smallest place in my house to make sure that it was suitable, no matter how much room you have to work with!  1️⃣ Mountain climbers- either do fast mountain climbers or like me, you can use socks to drag your feet along the floor really quickly, making the resistance a little harder 2️⃣Use socks or a towel to pull your legs in towards your shoulders and have your arms supporting you in a high plank position  3️⃣In a side plank position, bring your knee towards your arm before sliding it to the side twice- ensure your supporting arm is directly under your shoulder for stability. Repeat on the other leg 4️⃣Plank walk outs- start in a high plank and walk your hands out one by one as far as you can and return back to your plank  5️⃣I like to call these lifted starfish because you are in a starfish position, rested on your supporting arm and you simply bring your leg towards your chest and tap it with your opposite arm. Repeat on the other leg. Try it, keep those abs tight and let me know how it goes in the comments✨

If you are up for it, grab a softer ball or a harder pillow and lets do it together 😊🤗 Some cues that might be helpful: 👉🏻 Pull your shoulders and shoulder blades down. 👉🏻 Pull your navel towards your spine and rip cages. 👉🏻 Even though you are actively working with your upper body, keep your pelvis and legs steady. 👉🏻 Your spine is super long! ☝🏻 If the ball is too unstable for you, sit on a yoga block, or a harder pillow. 🏋🏼‍♀️LAST SATURDAY REMINDED ME WHAT IT FELT LIKE TO BE NEW TO THE GYM...🏋🏼‍♀️⁣ ⁣ I started training at a gym this time exactly four years ago. It's been so long I almost forgot what it felt like to start. ⁣ ⁣ The anxiety. The panic. The tight feeling in your chest. For some people, it may not be this bad but for me starting the gym was probably the most uncomfortable thing I've ever done. ⁣ ⁣ The feeling of walking in but having no clue if you're doing something right. That everyone is watching you and judging you. I hate that feeling. As someone who can be very introverted and shy (believe me, I am), there's nothing worse for me than being the center of attention. ⁣ ⁣ After four years that feeling hit me again. I was so close to leaving the gym 10 minutes in. I had a new plan from my coaches @leanlioness and @dreamteamfitnesstn and they weren't wrong when they said it would take some getting used to. ⁣ ⁣ It wasn't the plan which was the problem, it was being outside my comfort zone. Doing things I have NEVER done before in my training life. I felt like people were staring at me thinking "does she even know what the hell she's doing".⁣ ⁣ It brought me back. This shit is not easy. Walking into a gym as a FEMALE is not easy. Starting a new program is not easy. Is there any difference between them?? 🤔 Basic answer: A LOT!! 😜 -------------------------------------- Long answer: The very basic difference is between controlled and forced movement.  The wheels require very little energy to create movement which makes you need to CONTROL the eccentric and concentric movement while the gliders require a large amount of energy making it a forced movement. For example if you remove your foot off the disc in the middle of a lunge THE DISC WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE WHILE A GLIDER WOULD STOP the moment you removed your foot. “Pick n Mix” workout.  Choose 10-15 of these exercises, do 20 reps each (or a 30-60 sec hold), and repeat x2-3.  Don’t forget a warm-up and a cool down/stretch! • - Squats - Pushups (full body/knees) - Russian twists - Shoulder taps - Boat pose hold (the lower the legs, the harder it is - but adjust so you feel it in your core, not your lower back) - Elbow plank - Sit-ups (make it harder with your legs straight out in front) - Kick-outs - Glute bridge raises - Side planks - Bicycle crunches - Plank walks - High plank bird-dogs - Spider-Man push-ups - Supermans - Ankle-taps crunches - Triceps dips (floor, if there’s no bench) - Body saws - Lunges - Burpees - Mountain climbers - Fire hydrants • The beauty of bodyweight workouts is that you can do them anywhere, like a hotel room/park - or a SUP!  SUP is already a great core workout, but for a challenge, adding these to the unstable surface will make it burn! 🔥 Note: This is WAY tougher on a windy day, and you’ll likely need to paddle/reposition between exercises depending on the currents. • For lunges, you can hold onto the paddle with one hand for balance (with the blade tip on the board and handle to the sky), but these will test you and are best not attempted on a windy day!
