Leia’s a rescue pup and tends to be a bit more alert and nervous than Vader. She’s very cautious of how people approach her and anything new on her path. One day Leia and I were running on a trail leading into Monument Valley in Colorado Springs and turned a corner that had a huge boulder on the left side of the trail. She came to a halt. Alarmed, she didn’t drop contact. I lowered to the ground to talk her through it. "Leia, it’s a boulder but you can pass it. I’m with you." We took it slow but with the constant reassurance of my voice she put one paw forward and then another, and another. Being a pet parent means hearing your dog’s concern and encouraging them the entire way. What’s more amazing than dogs doing what we tell them is seeing how much they trust us. Dogs trust us to feed them, give them shelter and play with them everyday. I can’t stand to disappoint them so I do all the things on their list and challenge them thrive. #myrolldog ----- Roll Dog Community is a FREE group of people who run, hike, bike and compete with their dogs. link in bio. I love counting my steps each day, pushing myself and encouraging those around me to stay active and healthy ! Why at the end of the day? In hopes of a longer life. Isn’t that what we all want for our pets too?? Keeping track of your activity and your dogs is a great way to motivate you towards a healthier lifestyle! #fitbark is an activity tracker for your dog! The same as an Apple Watch or fit bit can be tracked by an app on your phone it is super convenient and easy to use. They are also a great way of seeing how much moneys worth your getting out of your daycare! You simply program your dogs age, breed and weight into the app for it to give you an estimated goal of activity points, Hazel rocked it today! #dogdaycare#dogfarm#dogboarding#healthydog AVAILABLE NOW AT PGP!
Anyone up for a hike? It's #workoutwednesday! On our road trip to New Mexico and back to Colorado, we stopped at some absolutely magical places to hike with the dogs. This was a trail in Taos, NM in Carson National Forest. We got lucky, the sun was out and it actually felt like spring. There was still snow on the ground in the places that didn't get much sun but overall, beautiful hike. Sooo... I dropped the bomb on a ya'll yesterday, we're moving into an RV in 4 months. I am seriously sweating, there are so many things to do – sell our furniture, downsize our kitchen supplies, clothes, shoes,... I'll stop there so that I don't overwhelm myself while typing this. Johnny and I have circled around the idea of living in an RV for YEARS, but up until two weeks ago we were also trying to convince ourselves to buy a house in Colorado Springs. It would make sense to buy a house, our businesses are based in the Springs but I can't say that I want to commit to living in one place for 10 years, which is when you typically would see the return on a house investment. So, after 3 months of First Time Home Buyer classes and driving around the state to find our mountain view; we've decided that the best option for our 2 cats and 2 dogs would be an RV. Our plan is to stick around Colorado Springs until we can hire good dog walkers to take over our clients, figure out a way to bring in "passive" income and maybe in a year we can drive with no destination and let life surprise us. We'll see, but I'll definitely keep you Roll Dogs updated. Thanks for the love and support. #myrolldog
☀️🏔🐶🌷🌲🐾 Spring isn’t always pretty with sunshine and flower blooms, sometimes, it’s A LOT of mud and mess. It warmed up here significantly and the snow melted SO MUCH in a matter of only two days. We had to take the opportunity to get outside for a hike!🏔🐾
