TRANSCRIPT + MORE COMMENTARY BELOW 👇🏼 . Question from our Mighty community: "How do you work on finding the beauty in yourself? I can’t." Well first of all, we learn the most about ourselves in relation with others. So take some time to think about where these disempowering ideas came from, because they come from how we’re treated in relationships, as well as the bigger colonist culture and its FUCKED UP woman-hating, distorted media & things that are just constantly coming at us to hate ourselves. Also, ask some trusted others what do they see in you? What do they love about you? And let that absorb into your heart. And third, make it a practice to look in the mirror and say “I love myself,” “I rock!” I’m awesome!” and see how that starts -- makes you feel, because things start happening in the head and the heart when you do that. Peace, Power & Love. [End of video]. . The key word in the question is “work” – “how do you WORK on finding beauty in yourself?” The disempowering mind chatter & feelings did not happen overnight, so they won’t disappear overnight. The first & KEY step is AWARENESS. Understand some of the CONTEXT & background behind where this stuff comes from. And then start REPLACING the self-loathing, disempowering ideas & mind chatter with KIND, LOVING, SELF-COMPASSIONATE talk. Literally talk to yourself in your head & out loud & in front of the mirror to cut off/interrupt the self-hating stuff. It’s what they call “replacing the tapes” that become like second nature to us that we don’t even know are playing in our heads. Checking in with trusted people who you feel DO SEE YOU, is another MAJOR piece here, to start really trying to see what they see. We have to let these things into our HEARTS, otherwise it’s just words that land in the air. This requires TRUST, which is why we gotta ask trusted others, people who we feel really SEE us. You may not agree with everything they say, but pay attention to what

Look past the glass Beyond the flecks of gold The story of a little girl Is waiting to unfold I see you now As an innocent child Starting back at a woman Who has lost her smile What have we become Has the world not been kind What caused you to doubt me To me behind Now the woman in me Reaches in to the light Trying hard to recapture That last bit of fight That girl is still in here I sense she is me And I muster the courage To let her be seen . . . . . Do you ever wonder what your younger self would think of who you have become? Would they be disappointed? Have you fulfilled all the dreams you had as a child? Are you happy? Are you kind to yourself? Are you living your best life? I imagine most of us would answer no to these questions. As children, most of us had unrealistic dreams...playing for the MLB, marrying a prince, becoming a pop star or in my case...changing the world through my writing. And while many of these dreams have been replaced with the reality of adulthood, we owe it to ourselves to live our best life in the circumstances we are given. I challenge you to give your inner child hope. They are still in there. And they want us to be happy. . . . #happy#innerchild#fridaymood#fridayvibes#mom#dream#instagood#photooftheday #poetry#poem#writersofinstagram #writer #dream#girls#firefightersofinstagram #femaleempowerment#bethechange#past#future#art#pghcreative#pgh#pittsburgh #412#followme#blog#blogger#lifestyle

Don’t fall into the trap of sacrificing your self-esteem for affection and acceptance. No matter what your size, you are a sexy goddess. Remember that. Mom often said to me, "I know if you look good, you get special treatment." And then she went a step further: "I don't care what the world says or does. You have to remember that every person is valuable. - @ashleygraham Ashley has not endorsed, received payment, or represented WingedCBD, we simply think she is an inspiration and we applaud her.

It can be so easy to miss what you are feeling in the moment, about a person or a situation . Especially if you are used to shutting down feelings and thinking your way through things . We have been told feeling too much is being emotional and dramatic . Feeling puts us in a vulnerable space . But asking ourselves how we feel about things allows us to make decisions that are in alignment to us . Feeling anger, frustration, guilt, resentment, shame are all painful but it’s also the start of being able to release the hold and control these feelings have over us . So start feeling your way through every damn day!

“i got a job at a restaurant in Yorkville in one of Canada’s top 100 restaurants, which is bullshit because you just pay to be on that list but anyways. i was only there for about 3 months until i knew i had to get the fuck out of there. it was my first experience working in a professional kitchen which is really just a boys club. so much ego and sexism” #mdwmn MAKING SPACE w/ @jessmaiorano telling the boys club to F**K off (click link in bio for her full story) 📷: @eggplantparm

Ever since my body started to change and grow hair I felt uncomfortable about it. I remember being about 10-11 years old and being embarrassed about the hair on my arms and legs because I felt it was much darker and noticeable compared to everyone else my age, even boys. So I would try to pluck it and shave it in secret. I remember wishing I could just laser it off forever because it felt so ugly and unnatural. As I grew up this feeling just became more of a norm and I would regularly fight what my natural body was trying to be in order to appear perfect and flawless. I used to want to flaunt my smooth legs and underarms but now I want to flaunt my body as it is. Now I choose to embrace myself as I am and no longer wish to change that which is natural just because it may not look good to others, because I actually love the way it looks now. I didn’t always feel this way and it’s been quite a journey to get to this point of acceptance towards myself and I still have a long way to go but I’m getting there. I really hope this helps anyone who is struggling with accepting any part of their natural body and I hope it encourages you to embrace yourself a little bit more ✨🙏🏼 #bodyhair#loveyourbody#selflovemovement

Today I heard a woman on a call with dozens of other female entrepreneurs say she, “has a real job.” . *oooooh snap* trigger alert! . I feel my body cringe. All the old shit I used to tell myself came to the surface. I was reminded that I, too, used to think that running my own 6-figure business was a big hairy dream that would probably never actually happen and that if I was ‘responsible’ I should always have at least some sort of side gig to help pay the bills. . For a while I did… I worked a yoga retail job for about 6 months that paid me way less than what I was worth and took time away from building my business. . I applied to and accepted the job out of fear. I’m grateful for the money that it brought in, but what I eventually learned was that you get to choose what you are an energetic match for. You get to choose what you’re worth. You get to decide what you believe is possible for you. . At the time, I was afraid of my big dreams and I settled for safety and comfort while I worked through all of my limiting beliefs. . I’m not saying that was a bad decision, it was simply what I thought I was capable of at the time. . Now, I know that this job, running my own business, IS A REAL JOB. And managing a 6-figure business is not a dream, it’s my new reality. . Today, I was reminded of the other path that I COULD have taken at the fork in the road… which would have kept me with one foot in, and one foot out of stepping into what I was truly worthy and capable of. . It was when I finally dropped the comfort blanket and believed that I could make my big, crazy dreams a reality that I started to see exponential success. . The difference between a side hustle or passion project and a 6-figure booming brand is that you GO ALL IN despite the massive fear. . Ready to drop the old stories and rise into your own power? Apply to my 1:1 holistic business coaching program. 💕 . AND... stay tuned for some magic dropping soon!!! 🎉✨
